Sweet Celebration Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Maryann our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Maryann says that she has seen lots of cards made with the new stencils being released by companies, try using two or more stencils on your card. If you don’t have new ones, dig out the ones you have in your supplies. Try this technique it is lots of fun.

Over the past few months Pinkfresh Studio has released a number of Layering Stencils. Some that work on their own and other that work with dies for stamp sets. I have been lucky enough to be able to purchase a few of these sets, so I decided to use one for our challenge today. I decided to use the Slimline Layered Starburst Stencil set for my card. This stencil set consists of 3 stencils to create starburst effect. I decided to use it to create a rainbow pattern using rainbow colors from Catherine Pooler Designs, you can see the colors I used in the supply list below.

After creating my rainbow pattern background, I die cut the panel using Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels & Windows die set. This was layered to a black panel and then to a side folding Slimline card that measures 3 3/4 inches x 8 3/4 inches.

To decorate my card I used MFT Stamps' Party Balloons die set, adding colors of the rainbow to the balloons. I used the sentiments from MFT Stamps' Sweet Celebration stamp set.

I created another Starburst pattern panel using the same rainbow colors I used for the front of my card. I cut this panel down to about 1 1/2 inches wide and attached to each side of the card.

I created a pop up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set.  One thing I love about creating Slimline cards is being able to add two of the Katherine Label Pop-ups to the inside of the card.

I added two birthday sentiment to the labels using stamps from The Stamping Village's Happy Birthday stamp set.

To finish off the card, I die cut some more of the balloons from the Party Balloons Die-namics. These were added to the edge of the labels.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
