Love and Best Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Shadow Box Card I created using dies from Paper Discovery.

Back in August Craft Stash has a fabulous special on some of Paper Discovery's die sets and this was one of them. I put it away so I could receive it for Christmas. The die set includes a frame die, background die, three flower dies and a concertina piece for the side panels. I used all the pieces to make my card.

I used a sentiment from Card Making Magic's Large Sentiments stamp set for the sentiment in the centre of the card.

The flowers are die cut and then added to the card using foam tape. I also added some leaves using a My Creative Life die set.

I added a panel to the back of the card, for a place to add another sentiment and a personal greeting. I also added a few more the the individual flowers.

Music In My Heart

Hi Crafty Friends,

According to the Days of the Year web site, September is National Piano Month. So as you can see, I have created a piano shaped card using Paper Discovery's Grand Piano Die and Stamp set.

This die set includes piano shaped dies in three different sizes and I used all three for this card. The largest die I used to create the side folding white card base. I then die cut the medium sized die from black card and finally the smallest die I also die cut again from black cardstock making it a side folded card.

I decorated the front of the card using some of the stamps and dies included in the die/stamp set.

I added a music themed patterned paper to the inner portion of the black shaped card.

I added some more of the die cut images and stamps to this panel.

For the inside of my card, I pulled out my Poppy Stamps Happy Birthday Melody die set for the Happy Birthday sentiment. I also added a few other of the music themed dies included in the Grand Piano die set.

It's A Special Time

Hi Craft Friends,

A couple of months ago, Craft Stash re-released a few of Paper Discovery's "Statement Pieces" dies. While they were available, I purchased a few I didn't have already to add to my stash.

One of those die sets was the Time on Your Hands die set which includes dies to create a large clock or a pocket watch. So for my card today, I used this die set to make a clock shaped card.

I die cut the main clock die from cream cardstock and then used pink ink to stencil colour to the stencilled area of the die.

Here is a look at my card from the side.

I used the cogs included in the die set to die cut from gold cardstock to add to the cut out area of the card.

The hands of the clock move so you can change the time of the clock.

I used a stamp from Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott to add the sentiment to the card.

For the inside of the card, I added another sentiment from the Time Stamp set from Made To Surprise. I added the It's Your Birthday sentiment which is from another stamp set from Made To Surprise.

I also added three more gold cogs to the top of my sentiment.

Happy Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday card I created recently.

A while back I purchased Paper Discovery's Happy Birthday Word Panel die, this die is massive! A lot bigger than I was expecting being approximately 8 inches x 5 inches. When I pulled it out recently to look at, I had a Centre Step Card on my desk and when I put it up against that, I thought it might work ... so that is what I have done for my card today.

I used the High Centre Stepper Card die set from Creative Craft Products, this is a much wider card than the normal Centre Stepper Cards and I am liking it more and more. I die cut the card base from white and the birthday sentiment from black, layering the sentiment up 3 layers for strength.

I die cut the layers using some rainbow paper I have had in my stash for years, probably at least 20 years if not more. The rainbow layer is normally the outer layer, but I wanted a black layer, so I cut that by hand around all the pieces.

I had a few dogs left over from another card I made using La-La Land Crafts Pawsome Friends stamps set, so I used them and stamped a couple more to add to my card. I also die cut some bones using a Whimsy Stamps stamp set and added those to my card.

For the inside of my card, I used the larger rectangle die included in the die set to die cut the white layer and added a black matting layer. I then added two sentiments and another dog using the stamps from the La-La Land Crafts stamp set.

3D Castle Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Tomorrow, 6th May is the coronation of King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla. As this is such an historical occasion I decided to make a card to celebrate the event.

For the castle I used Paper. Discovery's Perfect Castle die set which I purchased from Craft Stash last year when it was on special. This is a 3D die. Normally the towers would be square, but as I didn't want my card to have that much depth, I made a few adjusts to the die cut pieces before assembly. I also cut the tower die cuts in half and this die is rather long as it can be used for a number of different projects.

If you look at the walls you will see the brick detail which is another die included in the set.

I originally wanted to add this to an easel card, but doing that would mean the castle would be at an angle which I didn't like. So instead I added a green panel to the back of the front panel of my card which can be folded into the card when mailing and then folded underneath the castle for display.

I used La La Land Crafts Prince Luka and Princess Marcie for the King and Queen, these are older stamps I have had in my stash for years and are no longer available.

The castle towers fold flat in towards the centre of the card so that it can be placed in an envelope. This is a fairly large card measuring 7 inches wide x 6 1/2 inches tall, I don't I will end up giving this to anyone but keep it on display in my room.

For the inside of my card, I added La La Land Crafts Heart Chair stamp another I have had for years. I thought it could be a throne.

I added a birthday sentiment using a Honey Bee Stamp set and the "Royal Treatment" sentiment which is from an older MFT Stamps stamp set, that set is no longer available but I did find another one on the MFT Stamps web site which I have linked below.

Cello There

Cello there everyone!

Today I am sharing a Pinwheel Tower Card using a die set from Creative Craft Products new Fancy Folds Collection. This die set is the Pinwheel Card die which makes a 5 inch x 7 inch pinwheel card.

For my card today, I have made a music themed thank you card for my grandchildren's music teacher. She teaches one the cello and the other the violin so this card can be given to her from both of them. They won't need this card until December, but I like to made the cards when the inspiration hits and when I was looking through the stamps/dies on my desk to see what would work for this card that large cello would ... so I went with it.

All the musical instruments, the music paper and music sentiment stamps are all from Paper Discovery's Lost In Music Collection, I picked a few of these sets up last year when Craft Stash were having their 40% sales.

The music border is an older die from my stash by CC Designs. The music note dies around the card are from MFT Stash and also is an older set.

I used the "Thanks, Teacher Line Border" die on the left panel of this side of the pinwheel card. I added the stamped violin and music notes to the white panel on the right hand side which is also from the Music Play On Sentiment stamp set from Paper Discovery.

I added a teacher sentiment to the centre of this panel using sentiments from a Heffy Doodle and a Sunny Studio Stamps stamp sets.

For this last side of the pinwheel card, I added another of the music borders to the left panel. On the main panel I added two violin's as well as the "#1 teacher" sentiment using older die sets.

The card folds flat to fit into a 5 x 7 envelope.

Oriental Screen

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a fun fold card I created recently.

This card uses Paper Discovery's Room Divider die set to create the tri-fold screen card base. The set came with two different style base dies, two different decorative panels and two rectangle shaped panels. I cut the silver layer by hand as I wanted something between the decorative panel and the base panel. I used papers Divinity Designs Rainbow Sherbet Slimline Paper Pad as the panel behind the decorative panel.

On the left hand panel, I used Creative Craft Products' Modern Sentiments die set to die cut the word "Happy" from pink cardstock and layered onto the silver holographic card. The "Birthday" word is silver embossed onto pink cardstock. I used a sentiment from Altenew's Birthday Builder stamp set for the word "Birthday"

Along the top edge of the screen/card, I added pink/silver Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers. I used the stickers as I didn't want and bulk when the card was folded.

The card is folded so that the right hand panel when the card is opened, becomes the front of the card when it is closed. I added La-La Land Craft's Kimono Marci to the lower portion of the card.

Here is a look at the back of the card. The decorative panel on the right hand side is the back of the card when it is closed, so both the front and back of the card in the closed position is pretty.

For the other two panels I added white panels layered to the holographic cardstock and a sentiment to each of the panels which I silver embossed to match the card. Both sentiments are from Made To Surprise's Showstopper Sentiments stamp set.

Violin Shaped Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

My granddaughter is learning the violin and my grandson the cello through school, so I created this Violin shaped card for them to give to their music teacher at the end of the year.

To create my card I used Paper Discovery's Music - Play On Guitar and Violin Card Front die set. This die set can create cards that feature violins, guitars and also a Cello.

This card is 5 inches x 7 inches when folded. I die cut the front of the card using the main violin die and also from woodgrain paper. I then used the accessory dies included in the set to add the strings etc.

As this card will be given to their teachers at the end of the school year which is December, I found some Christmas Carol music themed paper to add to the right hand of the card. This can be seen when the card is closed.

I computer generated the "Music Teachers" sentiment on the right side of the card as I didn't have anything in my stash suitable for a music teacher. I also added some music notes around the card, each of the notes are 3 layers thick and then I covered them all with glossy accents which helps them stand out a little better.

On the left side of the card on the back of the violin shape, I added a thank you sentiment using Hefty Doodle's Teach Me Words stamp set.
