Owl Gift Card Holder

Hi everyone!

It’s Celebrate MFT Day which happens on the 20th of each month! This month we are celebrating the day by using the Stephanie Fizer range of stamps which are available through MFT Stamps. I love all of the Stephanie Fizer stamps and of course I especially love this Owls & Bluebells set which was released a few months ago.

My project today is a gift card holder which I created for this week’s My Favorite Challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum of SCS.

Happy Birthday Susan!

Hi everyone

It is time for another challenge over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Paper Craft Planet Group. This week the challenge is hosted by Susan Uncle. You have two weeks from today to participate in this challenge and you also have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card is selected randomly from all the entries received.

Susan’s birthday is in June and her favorite color is blue which is why she is also called Blue Robot so her challenge for us this time round was to create a Birthday card that was blue. There were a couple of stamps I tossed up about using as they all would have suited Susan but in the end these cute bees won hehe. This stamp is called “Susan’s Birthday Celebration” …. another reason why I chose this image seeing it was named after her! I also know she loves the bees/bugs that Alota Rubber Stamps sell hehe!

The sentiment I used here is from the JustRite Stampers oval birthday set … I couldn’t resist using it and the sentiment so fits this Alota image.

Here is the inside of my card. I recently attended a stamping/scrapbooking show and managed to get some of the fun EK Success border punches … this candle one being one of them. So of course I just had to use it on my card, as I had already done the outside of the card before getting this punch I decided to use it on the inside instead. Lots more candles for Susan to blow out hehe!

Love You Rain Or Shine!

Hi everyone

It is time for another MFT Stamps sketch challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum of SCS. This week it is my turn to supply the sketch. Btw the sketch challenge now has a new home in the MFT Stamps Member forum if you are looking for it … from now on it will be included in the “My Favorite Challenge” thread in post #3 each week.

I used the new set that was released yesterday called “Rainy Day Friends” … isn’t she just adorable and I love her raincoat! I stamped the girl and then also stamped the umbrella which was masked and added the frog to my umbrella. I also paper pieced the umbrella using the yellow designer paper I used on the strips.

Have A Boot Scootin’ Day!

It's Pretties Wednesday time again which means I have a card for the challenge the Prettie Girls do amongst themselves each week. Two week's ago I challenged the Prettie Girls to create a card using the colors Red, Black & White ... they could use other colors on their image if they wished.

Recently the Technique Challenge over on SCS was the Bandanna Technique, I had seen this technique some time earlier in Technique Junkies Newsletter and hadn’t gotten around to playing so I decided to try it out this time round. It really looks great on western cards but of course you can use it for any theme.

I used the Howdy Girlfriend stamps set which is available from Paper Pretties, it seemed perfect to use with this technique and those colors.

Grab A Coffee and Let’s Hop Around The Block!

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to my blog. It time to join the MFT Stamps “Sweet Sixteen” for another "Hop Around the Block". This week we welcome our newest members of the "Sweet Sixteen" Kathy Daume' & Barbara Anders to our blog hop.

Today MFT Stamps will be releasing two new stamp sets, Rainy Day Friends & I Need Coffee Flopsie …. these will both be available on the MFT Stamps store NOW!

Today I am featuring “I Need Coffee Flopsie”, Flopsie loves blog hops I think it is cause she is a expert in hopping hehe. I created a number of items using this set …. I got to tell ya …. I just love this set hehe!

Ok my first up is the card I created using this set … don’t you love the slippers hehe! The sentiment in the set actually comes as one long line however as I wanted to use it for a circle I cut it up and placed it on my block and then stamped it. It won’t hurt the stamp and I can still use it in one long line again at a later date if I so wish … that is one thing I love about clear stamps.

My next project is one of those Travel Coffee Mugs. This is one of those that you can removed the insert and decorate it anyway you like. I used Flopsie and also the bling set alphabet set to create the name “Becky” … this is for my DD who is the only one in this house that actually drinks coffee. I may not like coffee but I love coffee stamps hehe … I just can’t help it!

My final project I created is a little shaker box. I had originally planned on putting some form of coffee … probably coffee beans inside the shaker box but when I showed it to my coffee expert here she suggested coffee lollies and she even had some which I thought was a great idea so I used that instead … guess there are all sorts of ways to get your coffee intake hehe!

Here is an inside view of my shaker box complete with the coffee lollies. Hopefully this would make a good gift for any coffee lover and I could always include some real coffee inside the coffee mug if I wanted.

It is time for another Paper Pretties card to share with you. This image so reminds me of my younger daughter who is definitely not a morning person … she might be older than that of the girl on my card but it is still so her hehe … maybe I need to give this one to her *wink*

Rainy Day Friends!

It is almost time for another MFT Stamps mid month release so I have a MFTeaser to share with you today. MFT Stamps will be release 2 new stamp sets … this one I am featuring today is called “Rainy Day Friends”. Isn’t that little girl in her “froggy” coat just adorable!!!!!!

Of course as it was rain related I had to grab that raindrop designer paper I used the other day. Originally I had planned on using Taylors TECC sketch this week for my card, but when I had it all ready to put together you couldn’t see any of the designer paper and why use designer paper if you can’t see it right so I adapted the sketch a little. I will have to do that sketch for another card.

Forever!

Hi again!

It is time for another challenge over on the Pink Elephant challenge blog.  This week is a theme challenge and the theme was “Wedding”, never hurts to have one or two spare wedding cards in my stash especially with my two daughters having so many friends who keep getting married hehe.

I used The Greeting Farm’s “Cake Topper” set to create my card today … I just love this bride and groom image. I stamped the image onto white card, colored and cut out and also applied clear glitter glue all over the dress. I created the heart using my Heart nestabilities and then used the heart blocks cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the heart which I then sanded as I used some of the Core’dinations card for the heart, instead of a white core it has a pinkish core.

Aloha everyone!

Well another Monday has come around … don’t they get here quickly these days … yikes! Anyway of course Monday’s mean it is time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends, and a fun one it is too!

Charlene our challenge hostess for June has challenged us all to create a Tri Shutter card which was recently the Technique challenge over on SCS. I didn’t play at the time cause I was busy preparing for the beginning of the month new releases with various design teams but it was something I wanted to come back to … it is similar to something I have made years back and looked like fun. So of course I was happy when I saw this as the challenge for this week, some mightn’t be so happy though cause just the word technique can send shivers up somebody who will remain nameless spine … and I have no idea why.

Anyway there is a great tutorial on how to create these Tri Shutter cards over on Bonnie Szwalkiewicz blog which you can find here. If you own a scor-pal these are sooo easy to create as there is no measuring … one thing I did find though was I preferred to score the cut lines first and then cut them cause this made it easier to see where I was cutting without putting a cut in my card where it wasn’t supposed to go … the scor-pal helps to guide it.

I used the new Aloha Anya from The Greeting Farm which I received recently and paired that with my aloha greeting that my daughter gave me after she had gone to Hawaii. This card looks better in real life then here on the blog it is hard to take photos of 3D stuff and do them justice.

An Elzybell Flashback Day 2

Hi everyone

I am back today with the 2nd day of our Elzybells Art Stamps Flashback weekend. As I mentioned yesterday Elzybells is celebrating it’s first blogaversary this month over on their Elzybells blog with lots of specials, prizes etc.

My first card today I used "Kiss Me Quick" & "Kisses For You" to create my card. The border along the bottom of the card was created using the Martha Stewart lace doily punch.

Punched Dog!

Good morning everyone, hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Today I have another card using punches to share with your. The dog was CASED from a card that my friend received from a recent convention as a swap card. The original card was given to my friend by Pat Carr.

Pat’s card was a little note card, I decided to make mine into a much larger card. The dog was created using various SU punches.

Punches used:

• Head – Wide Oval Punch
• Ears/Patch/Collar – Small Oval Punch
• Snout – 1” circle punch
• Nose – 1/2” circle punch (cut into quarters)
• Body – Hand drawn circle
• Heart – Heart punch or flower cut into heart shape.

Hi everyone hope you are all enjoying your Saturday …. although mine is almost over now hehe.

It is time for another OCC challenge over on the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week the challenge was to use your favorite border punches. Well is that perfect timing or what because last weekend I had just punched a few new border punches and of course some other stuff at a local stamp show.

Of course then I had the big decision to decide which border punch to use …. hmmm that was a little harder hehe but finally I decided on the EK Success Wave Dot Border Punch … love this punch I think I am wearing it out already hehe!

I also used a few other new toys to create my card today … the owl is from a new set I purchased from Hero Arts called What’s the Scoop … of course I HAD to have this one right! And I also used my new inverted scallop square nestabilities to create my card … loving these!

The layout I used for my card is the SFYTT sketch challenge from 6th June.

An Elzybell Flashback Day 1

Hi everyone

Welcome to the Elzybells Design Teams Flashback weekend. Earlier in the month I mentioned that Elzybells Art Stamps was celebrating their 1st blogaversary over on their Elzybells Art Stamps blog this month.

Elizabeth has lots of fun things planned for you all over on her blog with some great specials and giveaways so make sure you check out her blog regularly throughout this month.

One of the things we thought would be fun to do was to have a Flashback Weekend  where each of the Design Team members select their favorite cards they have created using the Elzybells stamps since we started on the team.

Well this was much harder then I thought it would be to select just a few from all the cards I have created during this time. I love so many of them.

The first card I selected uses Elzybells "Kitty Queen" set, I picked this card as it was the very first card I made using any of the Elzybells stamps.

Goodbye Buddy!

Hi everyone,

I am sad today as I had to say goodbye to a precious member of my family, my dog Buddy who I have been lucky to have had the pleasure of so much love for about 15 years. It seems like yesterday that my DH came home from visiting a friend of his and plopped this tiny bundle onto the bed beside me … it was Buddy!

He had been unwell for a few days and we had to take him to the vet and discovered he had a tumor which was unfixable so the kindest thing to do was to let him go.

I will miss the happy dances he used to do with me and of course so much more!

Goodbye my friend …. I love you!
