    Jazzy Birthday

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being the challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Tomorrow is International Jazz Day …. Include some for of music on your card. Music notes; inspired by a song; your favorite musican; music designer paper …. It's up to you!

For my card today I have created another Gatefold Shutter card using the Nellie Snellen Magic Card - Round die sets.

To decorate my card I used the Happy Birthday Melody die from Memory Box on both of the inside side panels. I added a stamped sentiment for the sentiment inside the circle, I had to cut it apart so that it would fit.

I also added a die from Tonic Studio to the centre panel.

Here is a view of my card when it is beginning to open, you can see how the shutter in the centre of the card is starting to open to reveal the sentiment which is hidden.

Here is the front of my card. I have added an die cut image and music notes from Tonic Studios.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

    Stache Tastic Birthday

    Hi everyone,

Today I have one more "moustache" card to share with you. This time around I decided to create a pull card using the Pop it Ups Oval Pull Card die set. I added the EK Success Googly Eyes/Mustache/Lips die set for the centre oval.

On the side panels I added fishtails using the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners die set.

When you 'pull' the card open it reveals the sentiment and a blank oval so that I can write a greeting to whoever I decide to send this card to.

    A Little Bird Told Me

    Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess Joanne Grzelak finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Joanne says ..... When she thinks of April she also thinks of flowers….spring is here and flowers are blooming. That is probably why April is National Garden Month. Make a card that includes floral or garden images.

My card today uses some new stamps I just received which I have been trying to get my hands on for a few months now ... I finally found a shop who had them in stock. This uses the Spring Tweets stamp set from Stampendous.

I decided to create a Z Fold Card using the Katie Label Pivot Card die set for the last to pages of the card.

When the card is folded this is the front of the card.

And a close up look at the two pages that have the Katie Label Pivot Card. I also made use of a freebie set I got recently from a magazine for the sentiments which turned out to be perfect for these images.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing my third and final (for now) card using the new Stampers Anonymous Hipster stamp set. I have again used the Distress Oxides to create my background also adding some stencil effects to the background.

For the card base I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Fishtail Borders to create a fishtail shaped card.

Along the left hand sided of the card I added the word "birthday" plus the tail and head of an arrow from the Joset Designs Arrows die set.

For the inside of my card I added another of the arrows to the left hand side of the card and added a birthday sentiment.

    Epic

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I created with my recent purchase of the Stampers Anonymous Hipster stamp set. I was a little on the fence as to whether I needed this set or not ... but as you can see I climbed that fence and got it hehe! I will be sharing cards I made using this stamp set over the next few days.

I thought most of the stamps in this stamp set would be great for male cards which I never have enough of, so I have created some male birthday cards using them.

For the background of my card I used Distress Oxide inks by smooching the inks on my craft mat. I then used a few different stencils to the background.

I used the Stitched Fishtails and Fitted Fishtails die sets to layer the image from the set and the sentiment.

Finally I added some Multi Medium Matte adhesive to add some brown prills over the background.

For the inside of my card, I created another background panel for the left hand side of the card so it was similar to that on the front of the card. On the right hand panel I added a birthday sentiment.

Stamps: Hipster - Stampers Anonymous; Gift Card Greetings - MFT Stamps
    Paper: White; Black; Kraft
Dies: Stitched Squares; Fitted Squares; Stitched Fishtails; Fitted Fishtails - Elizabeth Craft Designs

For the face I used the Stitched Fishtails and Fitted Fishtails die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

    The sentiment is computer generated.

For the inside of my card, I added a Father's Day sentiments and another mustache from the die set.

    But First Tea

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being the challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Yesterday was Tea Day … so for our challenge this week let's incorporate something Tea related on our cards …. Not into tea then what about coffee!

For my card today I have created a Pull Card using the Pop it Ups Circle Spiral Pull Card. I have also used the Joset Designs Teacup on the centre circle of the card.

When you "pull" the card open it reveals the sentiment on the inner circle. For this I used the Pop it Ups Coffee & Tea Sentiments and the General Sentiments from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

    Fairies

    Hi everyone,

My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we challenge each other to create a card/project using particular supplies we all own.

This time round we decided to go with the theme Fairies! as my friends both have the Lavinia Fairy stamps and I knew I was getting this cute Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends stamp set for my birthday.

I decided to create a pop up card using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Pop-Ups die which I also received for my birthday. I also added the Flower Hillside Pop-Up Add-On and Grassy Hillside Pop-Up Add-On which I added to the pop up to give it a different look.

Here is another view of the inside of my card, so you can see the pop up part of the card a little easier.

I used the "Fairy" part of one of the sentiments included in the Fairy Friends stamp set and combined it with a birthday sentiment which I stamped directly to the base of the card.

For the front of the card I used the Flower Hillside Pop-Up Add-On and Grassy Hillside Pop-Up Add-On to create the hills at the bottom of the card and then I finished off my scene with more of the images from the Fairy Friends stamp set. I also added a sentiment included in the stamp set.

Stamps: Fairy Friends - Lawn Fawn; Birthday Wish - Stampendous
Paper: White; Green; Dark Green; Pink; Dark Pink; Purple; Yellow; OrangeWhispers DP - Kaisercraft
Dies: Stitched Hillside Pop-Ups; Flower Hillside Pop-Up Add-On;  Grassy Hillside Pop-Up Add-On; Stitched Tree Borders - Lawn Fawn; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs; Grass Border - MFT Stamps

Love You to the Moon and Back

    Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess Joanne Grzelak continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently April is Global Astronomy Month. So for our challenge this week, Joanne has requested that we create a card having to do with astronomy, such as moons and stars, but not limited to that. You could also fantasize about alien creatures and space travel. Use your imagination….Dazzle us!!!

So last month I created a card which would have suited this challenge perfectly, which you can find here. So I had to come up with something else which would also work for the challenge. I used a few of the elements on the previous card to create this card.

This time round I decided to create a pop up card, I used my new Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillsides Pop-Ups die set I recently received for my birthday. I die cut the pop up die from white cardstock and also created a folded card. I knew I wanted to used the craters I used on the card I created last month, although I didn't want the black border around it, so I carefully trimmed that off the stamp ... now I can use it with or without the border. I stamped the border on the inside base of my pop up card, on my pop up (back and front) and also a couple of extra pieces of cardstock so I could use one on the back panel and one on the front. I then used my Copic Airbrush to color the card.

For the sky part of the card, I discovered I owned a star background die from MFT Stamps which I die cut onto white cardstock about three times to create a starry background. I then used various colors of inks to create the Galaxy Sky  technique, it is hard to see in the photo above but in real life you gives it an interesting effect.

I had originally planned on buy a new space themed stamp set, but as I hadn't ordered it when I was making the base of my card and a few weeks earlier I had stamped and cut out the Changitos in Space stamp set from Stampendous I decided to use them. I also used the planets from the There She Goes stamp set.

For the sentiments I decided to computer generate them so I could have the sentiments I wanted for this card.

Finally here is the front of the card. I used the same  techniques as I did on the inside to decorate the outside of my card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    ECD April Coloring Designer Challenge

    Hi everyone,

It's time for our April Coloring Design Team Designer challenge. Check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today to see what our talented designed created for the challenge.

Our challenge this month is .... Inside and Out - We often decorate the front of our card and do nothing on the inside of the card. For our challenge this month let's decorate the inside of our card to coordinate in some way with the front of the card.

For my card today I decided to make a card to congratulate someone on their new home using the Krista Schneider Row Houses and coordinating dies.

Here is how I created my card:

    Step 1 -
Create a square base card using the Buttercream Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 5/8 inches square when folded.
    • Using designer paper of your choice to die cut a square using the largest square from the Fitted Squares die set.
    • Using the Brick Red Soft Finish Cardstock, die cut a square using the largest square from the Stitched Square die set.
    • Layer the two together and adhere to the front of the folded card.
    Step 2 -
Die cut the third largest fishtail from the Stitched Fishtail die set from Soft Sky Soft Finish Cardstock.
    • Sponge clouds to the top portion of the fishtail using the Behind the Scenes - Clouds & Grass Stencil and Picket Fence Distress Paint.
    • Die Cut the bottom half of the same fishtail from the green designer paper.  Then use the Pop It Ups Outdoor Edges to create an curved edge along the top of this layer. Adhere paper to the bottom of the fishtail.
    • Die cut the second largest fishtail from Brick Red Soft Finish Cardstock and layer this behind the stitched fishtail.
    • Die cut two designer paper fishtails and one Buttercream fishtail using the second smallest fishtail from the Stitched Fishtails die set. Adhere to bottom of the larger fishtail referring to photo above as a guide.
    • Using the Krista Schneider Row Houses Clear Stamps stamp the smaller house, both sets of trees, bush and chairs/table to White Soft  Finish Cardstock using black ink. Die cut using coordinating dies. Color and adhere to the fishtail banner using foam tape.
    • Using the Pop It Ups Baby Clear Stamp set, stamp the "Congrats on your new" sentiment to top right hand side of fishtail banner using black ink.
    • Adhere the large fishtail banner to front of card using foam tape.

Step 3 - Inside of Card:
Using designer paper, die cut a square using the largest square from the Fitted Squares die set.

    • Using the Brick Red Soft Finish Cardstock, die cut a square using the largest square from the Stitched Square die set.
    • Layer the two together and adhere to the inside of the card.
    Step 4 -
Using the Stitched Fishtail Banners die set, die cut the second smallest fishtail banner from White Soft Finish Cardstock
    • Die cut the middle sized Stitched Fishtail Banners from Brick Red Soft Finish Cardstock. Layer the two together.
    • Trim the end of the banner so it measures approximately 3 5/8 inches and adhere to the lower right hand side of the card.
    Step 5 -
Using the Alphabet 2 - Lower Case die set, die cut the letters "H" "O" "M" "E" using Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.
    • Adhere the letters to the fishtail end of the panel to form the word "Home"
    Step 6 -
Stamp one of the tall houses from the Row Houses Clear Stamp set onto White Soft Finish Cardstock using black ink. Die cut house using coordinating die. Color as desired and adhere to the other end of fishtail panel using foam tape.

    Inks - Black
    Picket Fence Distress Paint
