Have A Flaming Good Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our challenge hostess for August which is Anja de Regt.

Our challenge this week is .....

The 1st of August is National Mountain climbing day .... not that Anja climbs many real big mountains, but mountains are beautiful! So for our challenge this week the challenge is to include mountains on your card project.

For my card today I pulled out my Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Pop-up die set along with the Stitched Mountains Border and Grassy Hillside Pop-up Add Ons.

The dragons are a MFT Stamps stamp set I have been wanting to use for sometime. The sentiment is from a freebie stamp set I got in a magazine some time ago.

Here is another photo of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the pop-up part of the card a little better.

For the front of the card I duplicate many of the images that I used on the inside of the card.

Father's Day is about 6 months away down here in Australia, but as I have had this card in my head for months and months, I figured now was as good a time as any to finally make it. I have a number of cards to make for Father's Day so getting an early start is always a good thing.

Before my husband retired a few years ago, he was in the building industry for over 40 years so when I saw this cute Build It Beaver Stamp set from Clearly Besotted I knew I had to add it to my collect to make a card for him.

As you can see I have created a pop-up card this time using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Pop-up die set. It has been a while since I played with this die set. To create my pop up I also used the Stitched Mountain Borders also from Lawn Fawn.

I stamped the images a couple of times using my MISTI (some like the trees and logs, multiple times) and then used my Scan N Cut to cut them out. When you have so many to cut out that machine sure is a time saver!!

To the base of the card I added the Father's Day Border also from Lawn Fawn.

I used the same elements for the front of my card that I used for the inside ... the mountains; the grassy pop-up hills and a few of the beavers. The stamped sentiments on this card are also included in this stamp set.

Yet or Not Here Comes Christmas

I recently just had to purchase this cute stamp set from Mama Elephant called Me & My Yeti... I am not sure why I needed a Yeti stamp set I just did haha. I had to order the Yeti image set and the sentiment set from two different stores as no one had both together and I just needed both.

As you can see I have created a Pop-Up card using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Pop-Up die set, I added some mountains to the background and then added one of the Yeti's, the children, trees and houses to the hills. 

I also added one of the "Yeti" sentiments to the base of the card. Once I had finished the scene I added White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to all the snowy areas on the mountain peaks and trees.

For the front of my card, I added the designer paper, mountains, and the snow banks that I used on the inside of the card. I added the other Yeti giving it the "Merry" Banner to hold. I added a few more of the children and trees as well as another sentiment to go with the "Merry".

Happy Birthday from the Whole Herd

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Did you know that today is "Old Farmers Day" - let's show our appreciation to our farmers by creating something farm related today.

Years ago I purchased the "There She Goes Clear Stamps - Oh Crop" stamp set which contains some fun farm animals, a farmer and a fabulous farm scene as well as a few fun farm sentiments. Somehow it has been sitting in my stamp cupboard unused! When I looked at this stamp set I thought that the farm scene that is included in the set would work perfectly with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Pop-Ups die set as a background to the card .... I was right!

I used my Copic Airbrush to color the base, both sides of the Stitched Hillside Pop-Ups die cut and the grassy areas in the farm scene as I wanted the colors to match and this was easier than coloring it all by hand.

I stamped the cows, pig in mud and farmer and then used my Scan N Cut to cut them out. I added a sun to the top left hand corner of the card which is a really old stamp from my stash!

For the sentiment I grabbed another farm themed stamp set this time for MFT Stamps. 

For the front of my card I used the same farm scene that I used for the backdrop of the inside of the card, and added another farmer and cow. 

The sentiment is another from MFT Stamps.

Tuesday was "Talk like a Pirate" day, so for our challenge this week we are to create a card using anything pirate related - brownie points for using maps!

For my card today I decided to pull our my Ahoy Matey stamp set from Lawn Fawn to create a pop-up card. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Pop-Up die set as well as the Ocean Hillside Pop-Up Add-On die set to create the pop up portion of the card. I have been wanting to play with the ocean add on for a while but hadn't gotten around to it until now.

For the front of the card I duplicate many of the images that I used on the inside of the card.

Waving Hello

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. I continue to issue the challenge for the month of June.

Today is World Oceans Day, so for our challenge this week I asked the team to create something that reminds them of the ocean.



I had hoped to have had the new Lawn Fawn Waves add on that fits onto the Stitched Hillside Pop-Up die which is what I used to create my card. But as I couldn't use the waves I decided to use it anyway. 

I decorated my card using the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You stamp set. I used my Scan N Cut to cut out all the images which made cutting so many images a breeze. Especially since I think I stamped almost every image in the set twice.



Here is a side view of my card so you can see the pop up part of the card a little better. I also found the sentiment in a freebie stamp set I received in a magazine recently.



For the front of the card I used the Stitched Hillside Pop Up die again to create the waves of my card. I hid the cut lines from the tab by placing some coral and weeds over them. The designer paper on the front of the card is a little bluer than that on the inside as the designer paper has an ombre look to it.

Have a Roaring Great Birthday!

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Barb Anders our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently May is Barb's birth month and the gem stone for May is the emerald.  So for our challenge this week, Barb has asked us to use some shade of green on your card—bonus points if it’s emerald green 



Recently while surfing on Facebook, I saw a post which showed this cute "Safari Friends" stamp set which was a freebie on a Papercraft Essentials magazine. Of course I had to go to our local newsagent to see if I could find a copy of the magazine before they sold them all. As you can see I was lucky and got one.

This is such a super cute set! Of course I had to create a scene using this stamp set and the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Pop-Ups die set! I have to say I love this die set and have been having lots of fun with it. I still have a few ideas that I want to create using this die!

As you can see I have lots of 'green' on my card. I also added the Grassy Hillside Pop-Up Add-On to the pop up part of my card, this die is made to go over the Pop Up base to give you the rugged grassy look to which I have added my animals.

I know in real life you wouldn't find a lion and a tiger in the jungle together, tigers don't live in Africa ... but when you create cards you don't always have to stick to real life right! 



Here is another photo of the inside of my card taken at a different angle, so you can see all the different layers of the pop up part of the card a little better.

The sentiment on the inside of the card was computer generated.



For the front of the card of my card I have added a few more of the animals from the Safari Friends stamp set. The giraffe, I cut it's neck (it didn't hurt!), so I could add the sign with the birthday sentiment. This time round I used the sentiments from the stamp set.

Fairies

Hi everyone,

My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we challenge each other to create a card/project using particular supplies we all own.

This time round we decided to go with the theme Fairies! as my friends both have the Lavinia Fairy stamps and I knew I was getting this cute Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends stamp set for my birthday.

I decided to create a pop up card using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Pop-Ups die which I also received for my birthday. I also added the Flower Hillside Pop-Up Add-On and Grassy Hillside Pop-Up Add-On which I added to the pop up to give it a different look.

I used the "Fairy" part of one of the sentiments included in the Fairy Friends stamp set and combined it with a birthday sentiment which I stamped directly to the base of the card.

For the front of the card I used the Flower Hillside Pop-Up Add-On and Grassy Hillside Pop-Up Add-On to create the hills at the bottom of the card and then I finished off my scene with more of the images from the Fairy Friends stamp set. I also added a sentiment included in the stamp set.

Love You to the Moon and Back

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess Joanne Grzelak continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently April is Global Astronomy Month. So for our challenge this week, Joanne has requested that we create a card having to do with astronomy, such as moons and stars, but not limited to that. You could also fantasize about alien creatures and space travel. Use your imagination….Dazzle us!!!

So last month I created a card which would have suited this challenge perfectly, which you can find here. So I had to come up with something else which would also work for the challenge. I used a few of the elements on the previous card to create this card.

This time round I decided to create a pop up card, I used my new Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillsides Pop-Ups die set I recently received for my birthday. I die cut the pop up die from white cardstock and also created a folded card. I knew I wanted to used the craters I used on the card I created last month, although I didn't want the black border around it, so I carefully trimmed that off the stamp ... now I can use it with or without the border. I stamped the border on the inside base of my pop up card, on my pop up (back and front) and also a couple of extra pieces of cardstock so I could use one on the back panel and one on the front. I then used my Copic Airbrush to color the card.

For the sky part of the card, I discovered I owned a star background die from MFT Stamps which I die cut onto white cardstock about three times to create a starry background. I then used various colors of inks to create the Galaxy Sky  technique, it is hard to see in the photo above but in real life you gives it an interesting effect.

I had originally planned on buy a new space themed stamp set, but as I hadn't ordered it when I was making the base of my card and a few weeks earlier I had stamped and cut out the Changitos in Space stamp set from Stampendous I decided to use them. I also used the planets from the There She Goes stamp set.

For the sentiments I decided to computer generate them so I could have the sentiments I wanted for this card.

Finally here is the front of the card. I used the same  techniques as I did on the inside to decorate the outside of my card.

Friends Furever

For the inside of my card I created a Pop Up card using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Pop-Ups die, just love how clever this die is. I added more images from the Friends Furever stamp set.
