Put Your Feet Up and Relax

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Today is our first challenge for 2021 and we are excited to be back to another fun year of challenges. Of course being a brand new month means a new challenge hostess which is Lynn McAuley.

The new year usually means New Year’s Resolutions. For today’s challenge I would like for your card to feature something that you could add to or subtract from your life to improve the quality of your physical or mental health. This can be tongue-in-cheek or the real deal. You decide.

I don't make new year's resolutions, that way I can't break them. it took me a while to figure out what I would do for this challenge, and then I decided to use this cute Cozy Bear stamp set from Trinity Stamps along with their Slimline Room Builder die set. I think so relaxation, would be a good way to improve both physical and mental health.

I die cut the main die from the Slimline Room Builder die set from white cardstock. I also die cut some woodgrain paper to add to the floor. I adhered some patterned paper to the top portion of the panel to resemble wall paper.

I stamped the bear in chair; sofa; books and lamp onto white cardstock and also from patterned paper so I could paper piece the various pieces.

I used the oval dies included in the die set to die cut the rug using three different colors of cardstock. Finally I stamped the sentiment and added it to the bottom left corner of the card.

For the inside of my card I created a pop up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. About a month or so ago, my friend Karen Aicken created a pop-up using a long sentiment panel. I loved the look and as I wanted to use a large sentiment for this card I decided to do the same.

I used Karen Burniston's Long Rectangles - Crosshatch to die cut the rectangle panels. I also used the curvy border included in the Long Nature Edges die set to create the panels along the top and bottom edges of the card.

The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio's Phrase Builder:Sending die set.

To finish off the inside of the card I added the bookcase to the lower right hand corner.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Great minds think alike! We both had books on the brain with this challenge, Frances. Your sweet bear looks like he's really enjoying himself in that recliner.
