Open Me For A Smile

Today I am sharing another card using a few of the club kits from Spellbinders April 2025 Club Kits.

For the front of the card I used the Glimmer of the Month - Scattered Letters. I glimmered this piece twice on a 5 x 7 piece of white cardstock using black glimmer foil, I decorated the panel using the tulips & envelopes from the Large Die of the Month - Lock & Key Mailbox. 

The sentiment is from the Betterpress of the Month - Post Edges Expressions. 

For the card base I used a die from the 5 x 7 inch Diamond Fold Die set by Creative Craft Products/Craft Stash. I die add a layer between the patterned paper and base of the card which was fairly simple to do, even with the odd shape.

For the inside of the card I added a rectangle panel that I decorated using the script Betterpress plate included in the  Post Edges Expressions Betterpress set, which I repeated 4 times to cover the whole panel.

I added the odd shape panel over the top of this using the die used on the front, along the bottom I used the negative foiled piece using the left over foil from foiling the front panel. I also added another sentiment also from the Betterpress set.

It's Penguining To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Today I am sharing a fun Christmas themed card and treat box that I created recently. I just love this cute penguin, which is one of Creative Craft Products Honeycomb Collection. I picked this up from Craftstash a couple of months ago, but as it is from last years release it is no longer available. There are a number of other honeycomb dies that are available either with a Christmas theme or a generic theme. I just glad I managed to get hold of it, as this is an image that could be used all year around.

In the photos above you can see how the honeycomb portion of the card and treat box is attached to one half of the penguins belly using hook and loop tape, this allows for easier postage and/or storage of the finished items without squashing the honeycomb.

For my card I used one of the Easy Fold dies from Creative Craft Products, this is the Hexagon fold die set from that collection. As I used red and green waterfall glitter cardstock on the penguins, I decided to also use it for the layers of my card to tie the green on the penguin to my card. I just love the unusual texture of the glitter cardstock and I will definitely be getting more. As I didn't want to waste the glitter, I die cut a hole in the centre of each of the layers, so I can use those for something else.

As the main focus of this card is the penguin, I decided to pull out a penguin themed Christmas sentiment. This one is from Mama Elephant from their Cool Penguins stamp set. 

I kept the inside of my card fairly simple, adding a strip of the same patterned paper I used on the front to the right side of the card. This can be seen when the card is closed.

The sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps St Nick stamp set, and I added the cute penguin in a box which is also from the Mama Elephant Cool Penguins stamp set.

A few months ago, when Creative Craft Products released their 2022 Christmas Honeycomb Collection, Sam Calcott also feature the penguin creating a cute little gift box to hold a treat or small gift. As I love the idea, I decided to create one using my penguin die.

I also used White Fluffy Stuff Cosmic Shimmer to the bobble on the penguins hat for both the box and card.  It gives it a puffy look.

Here is a side view of my treat box, the penguin on the back is just plain with the box sandwiched between each of the penguins. In the photo above, you can see that I have the lid of the box open, so you can see how it opens, so the treats don't fall out.

Santa Easy Fold Card

Today I have a fun Christmas card to share with you all. This is a fun fold using Creative Craft Products Diamond Fold Easy Fold die set. I used this die last week to create a birthday card, adhering the front panel to a 5 x 7 card back. After finishing that card, I saw a card Sam Calcott made in her demo for these dies a few months ago where she used two of the fronts, adhering each to a 5 x 7 panel which had been folded in half. I loved the card so much and as I had my dies out already I decided to create a Christmas card using the technique.

To decorate my card I used stamps from Made To Surprise Santa Claus Stamp Set which was part of her Shutter Blind Collection a few months ago.

Here is a look at my card when it is opened. You can see the 5 x 7 inch panel in the centre of the card which has been folded in half. I used this area to add panels using Whimsy Stamps Mini Slim Notched and Mini Slim Notched Stitched die sets to add my sentiments. There is extra room on these panels to add a personal greeting when needed.

I finished decorated the inside by adding more of the images from the Santa Claus Stamp set and The Christmas Tree stamp set also from Made To Surprise.

Here is another view of the inside of my card, so you can see the folds a little better. There is one fold in the centre and then one either side of the red panel where the angled panels are adhered.

When closed, this card measures 5 x 7 so will fit in a 5 x 7 envelope.

Happy Birthday

Welcome to my blog, today I am sharing a card I created using one of the Creative Craft Products Easy Folds die sets. When I first saw these dies a few months ago, they reminded me of some fun templates I used to have that created unusual shaped cards. Dies are always much easier to use than templates, so of course I had to buy all four die sets. Two dies sets make 5 x 7 inch cards and the remaining two make 6 x 6 inch cards. I have included links to all four die sets in my supply list below. 

For my card today I used the 5 x 7 inch Diamond Fold Die set, keeping the design fairly simple. I die add a layer between the patterned paper and base of the card which was fairly simple to do, even with the odd shape. I have been wanting to use this patterned paper from Carta Bella for a while, and being that it was double sided I was able to make use of both sides for this card. You can see the reverse paper on the inner panel which shows when the card is closed.

I added a Happy Birthday sentiment using Waffle Flower Crafts' Happy Birthday Duo Foiling die set with coordinating dies. I foiled the sentiment using black foil. 

To finish off the front of the card I added some Pink Fresh Studio Champagne Metallic Pearls around the sentiment.

Here is a look at the inside of my card, after layering the patterned paper I used the layering die to die cut a white panel, trimming down the left side slightly and adhering to to the left side of my card. I then added a birthday sentiment using MFT Stamps Inside & Outside Birthday Greetings  stamp set.

Let It Snow

I have Christmas card to share with your today, using items from the September 2022 Papercraft Society Kit available from Craft Stash. I hadn't planned on getting this kit, however I must have signed up for the next kit which is one by Sam Calcott of Made To Surprise, a few hours before the cut off time for the September kit. As it doesn't snow where I live and it is summer at Christmas, this was one I probably would have normally ignored, but seeing I have it I had fun making my card.

For the card base, I used another of the Creative Craft Products Easy Fold Die sets. This one is the Hexagon Easy Fold die set. I added a holographic layer before the patterned paper and the base for a little bit of extra fun.

I die cut the snowflakes included in the kit using silver glitter cardstock and vellum, both these products were also in the kit. As well as the dies and stamps used.

On the inside of my card, I added a strip of the patterned paper and two more snowflakes, this can be seen when the card is closed.

I also added the "Dreaming of a White Christmas" to the white area of the card.

Grand Piano

Recently Craft Stash released some new dies which reminded of some templates I used to use to make unusual shaped cards. As I enjoyed making those cards previously, I decided to buy them. Later Sam Calcott shared a video tutorial sharing four cards she created using each of the die sets, one of the cards was a piano shaped card using the Creative Craft Products Heart Easy Folds die set.

 I have made a piano shaped card in the past, many years ago. That card I created using a template I created, it's always easier to create a card with dies rather than templates and as I was going to have this die set I knew I needed to make another one using these dies. While I was inspired by Sam's card to make this using the new Easy Folds die set, I also used my previous card as inspiration. The die is designed in the opposite orientation to the shape of a piano, but it was easy enough to flip the cardstock once die cut.

 I didn't have the piano border Sam used on her card, however I did have an older one from Memory Box which needed a little alteration to make it fit the width of the card, but that was easy enough to do. My piano border has been discontinued for a while now, so I will like to the one from Paper Discovery, it is out of stock right now but you can sign up to be notified when it comes back in stock.

As you can see by the photo above, the piano keys are attached to the back panel so that only the part of a grand piano that is raised normally, is raised on my card. I die cut two of the shaped panels and trimmed off the height of the piano keys to create the from panel of my card. 

To decorate the front, I added the "Happy Birthday Melody" die from Poppy Stamps, another which sadly I believe is discontinued. It's one I used a lot for music themed cards.

I die cut two hearts using the heart die included in the Creative Craft Products Heart Fold Easy Folds die set to add to the top portion of my card as well as an additional music note.

You can also see on the right hand side of my card, above the keys, the tab. which is adhered to the back of the front of the card, which keeps the front upright when sitting on a flat surface.

Here is a look at my card when it is folded ready to be placed in an envelope. It does measure 6 inches x 7 inches, so will need to go into a larger sized envelope.

And finally a look at the inside of the card. I used one of the layering die sets included in the die set to die cut the patterned paper and white panel. As luck would have it,  I recently pulled out some older patterned papers I wanted to sort through to see what I would throw and what I wanted to keep, this music themed paper was in there, so I used some for the top of the right side of the card. I added a white embossed sentiment, using an MFT Stamps stamp set.

On the left panel I added a white panel, this is where a personal greeting can be written. I also stamped a birthday sentiment using a very old stamp I have had in my stash for years.
