You’re A Hoot!

Hi all!

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess for October Shirley Quarry has another fun challenge for us.

This week we had to create a card with a fall scene or something related to fall. Well hopefully this qualifies! This stamp set includes a sentiment that says Happy Fall so I figured I was safe although I decided I would use another of the sentiments from the set. I am sure you can all guess why I purchased this set hehe … you guessed it because of the owl! I paper pieced the girls coat and created the scene using the bushes also included in the set. I added some leaves in the top left corner of my card to make sure I covered the fall theme hehe!

The layout used for my card is a recent Sweet Stop sketch (SSS128).

Here is the inside of my card … I love this sentiment, it works well for a birthday.

Bigger The Wish!

CCEE1119 Chocolate wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Apparently today is National Fudge Nutty Day, so our challenge hostess Shirley Quarry has challenged us to use this for the inspiration for our cards. Some suggestions for this challenge include chocolate, nuts or just a really nutty card.

Recently I purchased this stamp from The Cats Pajama so when I say this challenge I thought it was perfect for it. The cake is a chocolate fudge nutty cake hehe! And I think that cute rabbit does look a little nutty too right Smile

Here is the inside of my card. Of course I also had to add my Martha Stewart Drippy Goo border punch cause this so reminds me of chocolate icing!

Tea & Love!

TCP-SquashCard-wm

Hi everyone,

A few week’s ago I made a Squash card for a challenge. It was a fun card to make and a few people liked it enough to also want to make one, so when I needed to come up with an idea for a card for a shoebox swap I went to on Thursday I decided to make another one of those cards. This is what I came up with.

Here is another photo of my card as it is starting to be opened up.

Good Friends

C4C71-GoodFriends-wm

Happy Saturday everyone,

Of course Saturday’s mean challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week Maria Bell has given us a fun sketch to play with. I have always been an admirer of Maria’s sketches :)

For my card I pulled out a The Cat’s Pajamas image that I have had for a while now and haven’t used. I do love their images. And have you noticed I seem to be in penguin mode this week, this being the 3rd card I have made that has penguins on it hehe!

I paper pieced the couch and the mat of this image.

C4C71-GoodFriends2-wm

Here is the inside of my card. I stamps the penguin image again in black onto my white card and added one of the sentiments from the set along the bottom right of my card.

Howdy!

Howdy1-wm

Hi everyone,

Recently at a stamp club I belong to, our project for the month was to create a Never Ending card. It has been years since I have created one of these so it was fun to revisit this technique.

I used two of my favorite sets from The Cat’s Pyjama to decorate my card. The photo above shows the front of my card.

Howdy2-wm

This is such a magical type of card, when you open up the card you come to this layout.

Howdy3-wm

Here is what it looks like when you fold it the 3rd time.

Howdy4-wm

And finally the last page … when you fold these panels it will take you back to the front of the card where you can start folding ago …  it’s lots of fun folding and folding it hehe!

Hippo Birthday!

CCEE1034-Hippo-wm

Hi all!

It’s challenge time again over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This is the last sketch from our August hostess with the mostess Tosh Leyendekker. I have had fun this month working with Tosh’s sketches although this last one for some reason was tougher then  the rest for me … no idea why!

I decided to play with another of my new The Cat’s Pyjama stamp sets that I got recently so selected this cute And Baby Makes Three set which can make cute baby cards or even Birthday cards like I have here … don’t you just love that sentiment!!!!!!

CCEE1034-Hippo2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, I added the little hippo to the corner of my card.

You’re Not Getting Older!

CCEE1033-Getting-Older-wm

Hi all,

I just love Thursdays because it means challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This month our challenge hostess Tosh Leyendekker has given us a month of sketches which focus on panels…. this week she has given us another fun sketch to play with.

This week I actually turned the sketch on it’s side as I wanted to use one of my new sets from The Cat’s Pyjamas… now can you blame me that I couldn’t resist this cute little bunny! As I had been using sentiments for this challenge all month I wanted to use an image this time round.

You also might recognise the designer paper I used on my card … yes this is the fourth card I have created using this designer paper this week … can you tell that I LOVE it!!!!!!!!! It’s the newest Hippie Girl Collection from Kaisercraft.

The flowers used on my card were created using TCP’s new Cutup Dies, Flower Buttons Die and Buttons Die. These were cut from felt.

Here is the sketch if you want to play along.

Witchful Thinking!

My card today is for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. I love this sketch, I am sure to be using it again soon!

The purple background on this looks more purple in real life ... unfortunately I couldn't get a good photo of it ... I might try again tomorrow when it is daylight and see if that helps.

The background on the orange card is using the tree from the same set and the cute little witch ... which is called Witchful Thinking by The Cat's Pajamas. The purple card is embossed using "boo to you" cuttlebug embossing folder.

Hi ya! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. My card today is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. When I saw the circles I decided to make my card to match the Mini Pizza Box I created last week and posted here on Friday ... you can find it here. I thought it would be fun to have them both matching ... now I can give someone the card and the box with their gift in it.

Mini Pizza Box

This week's "Try a New Technique" challenge on SCS was to create miniature pizza boxes. As I have been wanting to make one of these for some time now I figured this was a good time to get to it.

You can find the directions on how to make one of these boxes here.

I picked up some of the new Basic Grey designer papers when I visited a scrapbook store the other day. I just love this designer paper ... I might just have to go get some more of it. Of course I had to use it to create this pizza box. The stamp set used here is one of the birthday sets from The Cat's Pajamas.
Here is a photo of the box when it is open ... I haven't decided what I will put in mine as yet but there are a lot of different things that you could use it for including small note cards, cookies, candy, jewellery even stamps.

Playing Pirates!

G'day everyone! My card today is for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS.

I love pirate stamps and had this set from The Cat's Pajamas sitting on my desk. When I saw how they suited this sketch I just had to use them. Don't they look like a couple of kids playing dress up as pirates!!!!!

I used the distressed stripes cuttlebug embossing folder to create the background to my base card ... after embossing I sponged on some black ink to make the stripes black. The treasure map used here is a button from a pirate theme button set.

Stamps: Pirate Stamps - The Cat's Pajamas
Papers: White; Black; Real Red - SU
Other: Black Ink; Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Treasure Map Button; Foam Tape; Gold Spica Pen; Copics

29 Again!

Now I have the song 29 Again in my head ... you are all lucky I can't find the lyrics cause that means I won't start singing in here LOL ... wouldn't want to put the wrong lyrics after all hehe.

My card today is for Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge ... I have been wanting to use this stamp for this challenge for a few weeks now and each time I have ended up going with something else instead non cupcake related ... now I am back to cupcakes for a while.

Being 29 again sounds like a great idea .... no hope here though ... sheesh even my kids are older than that LOL!

Anni-VERVE-sary Sketch #5

Well it is day 5 for the Verve Stamps Anni-VERSE-sary 12 days of sketches and here is my card using sketch #5.

This was a pretty quick card to create ... most of it was done while I was cooking dinner last night which is probably why the potatoes almost boiled dry ... oops. Luckily they were saved before that happened haha!

I kept to a monochromatic theme for this one using really rust for the designer paper and card used here.

Stamps: Dog & Sentiment - The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: White; Black; Really Rust & DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Forest Branches Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Rust Brads; Foam Tape

Hot Dog!

I was glad to see that Beate's weekend sketch challenge was an easy one today ... as that meant I could get a quick card made for it. It is a fairly simple card so don't think I need to go into how I made it.

I am not sure how much stamping I will manage to get done this weekend as you see my DH has finally started revamping my stamping area ... he is outside as I type building my new shelving system to house my card/paper, stamps & many other bits and pieces. When he is almost ready to install it ... he will come inside and tell me to start removing everything off my existing shelves so he can remove the old ones and install the new ... I am looking forward to the finished product ... but not so much for the part about removing everything ... not even sure where I will be able to put it even temporarily LOL ... oh well ... I know it will be worth it in the end!

I know some of you have asked that you would like to see my stamping area ... I have not been ignoring you I promise .... just waiting until it is all done. When it is finished I will share some pics but it could be a little while yet.

Cowboy In Town!

Today's sketch on SCS is similar to the one I did on Saturday for Beate's WSC .... I think the main difference is that the vertical panel goes all the way down the card on this particular sketch whereas on Beate's it only went slightly past the middle band. Anyway both sketches I enjoyed doing.

Today I got out my The Cat's Pajama's cowboy stamps ... seems to be a western theme going on here on my blog this week ... what with the MFT release samples and now this card hehe. Actually I was going to go with a different theme ... but the image I chose was too large so I change my mind.

I stamped he buildings onto the top section of my card and colored them in. I stamped the little cowboy on a scrap piece of card, colored and cut out and then mounted him to the other panel before layering to ruby red and chocolate chip.

Both pieces of DP are from the At Home Simply Scrapping Kit ... I love that striped paper. After layer all the panels to my card I added the row of star brads to the side of my vertical panel.

Ride Em Cowboy!

This week for the challenge I do with my fab/sassy friends ... we had to CASE a card from the latest SU catalog. I decided to CASE this card here.

I did make a few changes to the one in the catty .... changing the DP and the colors of the card used..... instead of having the separate piece for the scallop border I add my scallops to my cranberry panel. I also changed the ribbon that was used around the circle to a scallop nestabilitiy. I added paper piercing to the bottom of the card ... and obviously I also changed the image used.

Recipe: Stamps: The Cat's Pajama's
Paper: White; River Rock, Cranberry Crisp & Blue Bayou - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Nestabilities; Crop a dile
