It Takes A Lot Of Balls!

My card today uses the new "Right On Par" set which will be released by Paper Pretties this Wednesday 1st April. This set is great for those men in our lives, aren't we always looking for stamps that would suit males. With Father's Day just around the corner this is a great set to have!

The set contains the image included here and a number of fun sentiments, including some relating to Fathers & Father's Day. I just couldn't resist using this fun sentiment on my card today hehe!

The giant golf ball on the top right hand side of my card was creating using my circle nestabilities and my tiny dots cuttlebug embossing folder. I turned the embossed shape over so that the dots were debossed rather than embossed.

On Sunday April 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm. We will be issuing a challenge every hour so be sure to come and play along!! Besides the challenges, chatter, and all around fun, we will also be releasing Sophia Ballerina, Sweets for the Sweet in Rubber, Bunny Slippers in Rubber, and a new set!! Sneak peeks start on Monday, March 30th!! Hope to see you there!!

Paper Pretties is having a release on April 1st so that means it is time for another CUTIE PIE CONTEST!!! All you have to do to enter is upload a card you have made using Paper Pretties stamps to the Cutie Pie Contest gallery over at the Paper Pretties website. Entries must be in by no later than 8pm CST on March 31st to be considered for the prize. Besides getting to call yourself a CutiePie, you will also receive all the new stamps that are released on the 1st!! Good luck!!

A Sweet Little Boy!

My card today uses one of the new stamp sets which will be released by MFT Stamps this Wednesday 1st April. This set is called "Cuddle Up Carter"..... and has been named after Carole's four year old son Carter!

This is stamp set is MFT Stamps newest charity set, with $2.00 from every set sold over the next 6 months going to benefit kids with Cerebral Palsy (like Carole's son, Carter) via the non-profit Euro-Peds clinic in Pontiac, Michigan!

I just love this new set ... Carter is so sweet (both the stamp and the real boy hehe!) ..... having a husband who collects trains I also loved that this set includes a cute little train which I have also used on my card. This set would also work well with Nite Nite Ellie which was released by MFT Stamps last month.

I paper pieced the blanket that Carter is holding. The train border along the bottom of the card was created using the Martha Stewart train border punch. I used the Sizzix baby geo texture plate to create the texture on my card.

My Favorite Things is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, April 1st from 9-10 PM EASTERN. This month there are 4 new sets being released!

Head over to the MFT forum HERE to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. We hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

Hi again everyone.

I am back today with my first of this week's MFTeasers that I have to share with you. MFT Stamps will be releasing 4 new stamp sets this Wednesday 1st April.

I added Swarovski crystals to the corners of the centre panel and the tip of the diamond. These are from the Swarovski Crystal - Spring Collection, these were applied using the Professional Touch HotFix Crystal Applicator. Both are available from MFT Stamps.

An Easter Treat!

G'day to you all!

Monday means it is time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends. This week we have a supply challenge, this is when someone send everyone the same or similar supplies for them to create their project with. This week is was my time to host this challenge and the supplies came from Helene of Alota Rubber Stamps.

Helene sent us all the following:
  • Easter themed stamps
  • Groovy Guava card
  • Button diecuts
  • Ribbon
I decided to use my Easter image to create this fun Treat Purse that was a recent Try a New Technique challenge over on SCS. This was lots of fun to make!

The card that Helene sent me for my project matched a new designer paper I just purchased so of course I had to use that.
Here is the inside of my treat bag .... i used some of the diecut buttons to decorate the flap.
A big thanks to Helene for sending us all the supplies this week.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the CCEE Stampers creations by visiting our CCEE Stamper blog.

Recipe:
Stamps: All Stamps - Alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Groovy Guava - SU; DP - Kaisercraft

Chocolate Bunny!

Hello everyone!

Easter is only a few weeks away now so it is time to get some Easter cards made to give to family and friends. I used the Easter Bunny stamp from Alota Rubber Stamps to create this card today. It reminded me of a chocolate bunny that you might get at Easter so I just had to color it brown.

I added paper piercing to the top right corner of my main image panel. The punched look on this card isn't done with a punch but is the actual pattern on the designer paper that I used on my card.

Recipe:
Stamps: Easter Bunny with Bow & Sentiment - Alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Chocolate Chip & Pretty In Pink; DP - Sweet Stack DCWV
Other: Black Ink; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Key Tag Punch; Flowers; Brown Brad; Rectangle Nestabilities; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Foam Tape; Copics

Rebus - Queensland Towns

Hi everyone!

Yes it is that time of the month again (no not that one) ... it is rebus time!!!!

This month the theme was "Name of Queensland Towns". I hope this isn't too hard for those of you who like to play along who live in the Northern Hemisphere, if it helps I got all the names for my rebus on the Wikipedia site here. Being a Queenslander I probably could have thought up some without looking at the site .... but it is always good to look just in case it comes up with something I hadn't thought of.

If you would like to solve it, why not post a comment to this blog post with your answers. I will let you know what the correct answers are next time I post a rebus card here.

Here are the solutions: from last months "D Words Rebus":
  • Disneyland
  • Dinosaur
  • Drummer
  • Dementor (from Harry Potter)
  • Daughter
  • Dangerous
So how did you go?????

Don't forget that you can see all my past rebus posts here. If you scroll down to some of the earlier ones it might help you work out what some of the symbols can be used for.

I Think The World Of You!

G'day everyone. My card today is for this week's challenge at Our Creative Corner. Kim Teasdale gave us a color challenge to use to create our cards this time round. The colors we had to use were: More Mustard, Not Quite Navy & Bashful Blue.

The first thing I did when I began to make my card was gather the card and designer papers I had in those colors ... I managed to find a couple of pieces of designer papers, one in more mustard and the other in bashful blue. I also wanted to play with this cute Changito Space set I purchased a few weeks back at the Papercraft Convention I attended. My card started off being a recently Mojo sketch challenge ... but it changed along the way ... so I guess you can say it was inspired by that sketch.

This is actually a standard sized card .... which is amazing because I seldom manage to make standard sized cards even though I would like to more often LOL.

Here is the inside of my card ... now isn't that a cute little monkey!!!!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the OCC Designers cards over on the OCC Blog.

Recipe:
Stamps: Space Changito - Stampendous
Paper: White; More Mustard, Not Quite Navy & Bashful Blue - SU; DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Not Quite Navy SU Ink; Corner Rounder; Star Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

of trees behind him.

You've Grown!

Hi everyone!

It's Thursday which means it is time for another MFT sketch challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum. This week it is my turn to host the challenge.

I used the new Sara Williams "Spring Sprouts" set that was released by MFT Stamps last week.

A few week's ago Amy Sheffer post a tutorial on how to create Paper Pleating over on the MFT Stamps HTDT Forum (how'd they do that). So I decided to do some and use it on my card for today. I also used my Martha Stewart picket fence border punch to create the border on my card. The flower centres were created using the Glittered Dots and Flowers - Spring Collection
Here's this week's sketch! Cindy and I would love you to play along. Don't forget to upload your card to the MFTSC74 gallery on SCS to be in the running to win a $5 gift certificate. We will select the winner next week when we upload the next sketch challenge.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off To Read I Go!

Hi again!

It is Pretties Wednesday which means it is time for another Pretties challenge with the Pretties Girls.

Two week's ago Christi Thorsen challenged the Pretties Girls to create a bookmark.

When I started thinking about my bookmark that I had to create, I thought of course of books and then this made me think of school so I decided to use "Off To School Sophia" for my bookmark!

I used the Martha Stewart picket fence border punch and attached this to the top portion of the footpath I created for the bottom of my bookmark. I had this alphabet designer paper in my stash which I also thought would work well with this bookmark.

I masked out the "school" portion of the sentiment and used my computer to print out "read", which I then cut out and adhered over the school part of this sentiment. I also added a tassel to the top of my bookmark.

Don't forget to check out the other Design Teams blogs to see there creations this week.

Whimsical Wishes!

Hello everyone!!

First up I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped make my birthday so special over the past couple of days. It is one I will remember for a long long time!

Now I know that being an owl lover myself, I have a lot of people who follow my blog for this reason, as I often make owl cards. Well over the last few days owl cards have been everywhere and I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on any of them.

My CCEE Stamper friends surprised me for the challenge we all do on Mondays with all their cards/scraplings being created using owls and you can see them here.

And then if that wasn't enough excitement already the Paper Pretties Design Team surprised my with a birthday blog hop that had an owl twist. If you would like to see those cards you will need to follow along with the hop which starts here.

Now onto my card for today which is for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. Of course I had to use one of my new stamp sets that I received for my birthday and after seeing the sketch I decided to go with this "Forest Frenzy" set by CHF that I received yesterday morning by my "Prettie Girl" friend Danielle. I also used one of my new DCWV stack pads I got this week, this I used here the Green Stack which I just love!

Surprise, surprise I actually used kraft card for this card without having to use it cause it is a challenge hehe! It seemed to work well with the colors on the designer paper. I also used two of the sizzix texture templates to add texture to both kraft pieces.

Recipe:
Stamps: Forest Frenzy - CHF
Paper: White; Black; Kraft - SU; Green Stack DP - DCWV
Other: Black Ink; Black Brads; Baby Geo & L7s Sizzix Texture Plates; Foam Tape; Copics

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hi everyone!

It's Pretties Tuesday so I have another Paper Pretties card to share with you today. I figured that seeing it was also my birthday today that I would make my card a birthday card!

I used "Bunny Hop Sophia" to create my card today ... now this is normally an Easter image but I wanted to try and use this for something other then Easter! Bunny Hop Sophia normally is wearing bunny ears and carrying Easter eggs in her basket, I cut off the bunny ears and colored what remained to look like her hair and a hair band ... you have to look very close to notice anything and I think only those of us who know that she had bunny ears would notice. I also added some flower soft to the basket so it looks like she is carrying flowers rather then eggs.

I used white wide grosgrain ribbon for the 3 panels at the side of my card ... I colored them blue using my copic marker.

This week the Pretties weekly challenge is a sketch challenge ... now you know I had to play this one. This is another great sketch that Danielle has created for us today.

How to Enter: make your card using the provided sketch and any Paper Pretties stamp set(s). Upload the card to the Paper Pretties gallery.

Please include it in the Weekly Challenges category on the forum and use keyword PWC44.

Deadline: midnight on Wednesday, March 25th

Prize: $5.00 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.

The winner will be randomly selected from among the qualifying entrants and announced after the contest has ended.

Recipe:
Stamps: Bunny Hop Sophia & Sentiment - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Soft Sky, Pretty In Pink & Regal Rose - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Label Tag Die; Long Rectangle Nestabilities; Pink Brads; White Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape; Copics

Good Friend!

Hello all my blogging friends! It is time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends!

One of my favorite new things to create are scaplings so this week's CCEE challenge is to create a scrapling. For those of you who haven't heard of scraplings before you can see a few more on my blog here.

Scraplings are normally 1.25" x 4.25" because they are often made from the off cuts you get when you make a square card (4.25" square) from a piece of card that is 4.25" x 5.5". However if you are like me your scraplings may be a little wider depending on what you are working on at the time.

Now for me 1.25" is way too narrow and I normally have wider card then that left over so you can makes yours wider .... BUT for this challenge they cannot be any wider then 2.5 inches that is for the base of the scrapling ... you can have wider pieces hanging off like I did with my scrapling above, that is up to you .... as long as they are no wider then 2.5 inches.

I used the "Good Friend" stamp set from Stampin' Up to create my scrapling today ... love the bright colors of this designer paper which is also by SU!

Here is the inside of my scrapling!

Recipe:
Stamps: Good Friend - Stampin' Up; Karen Foster Snap Stamps
Paper: White; Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss & Good Morning Sunshine DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Pacific Point SU Ink; Grosgrain Ribbon; Circle Nestabilities; Foam Tape; Copics

Taylors Cupcake Challenge #60

It has been a while since I have had the time to play Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake challenge. I have wanted to for a while cause I have had a few new cupcake stamps I have been wanting to play with for at least a month if not more ... yikes!

For my card I used the Bosskut Vintage Tag for my main image and then I stamped Stella Cupcake onto my tag. It is hard to see in this photo, (how I miss my photo editing program:() the black panel has been embossed using the flower power Sizzix texture plate ... I am loving these. If you love using the cuttlebug embossing folders then you will also love these and the best thing about them there size .... they are almost twice the size of the cuttlebug. The designer paper I used here is from a new DCWV Stack I picked up in the shops today called Sweet Stack.

Recipe:
Stamps: Stella Cupcake - Stamping Bella
Paper: White; Black; Regal Rose - SU; Sweet Stack DP - DCWV
Other: Black Ink; Bosskut Vintage Tag; Flower Power Sizzix Texture Plate; Lace Doiley Border Punch; Glittered Dots (MFT); Foam Tape; Copics

An OCC Sketch Challenge!

G'day everyone!

It's Saturday so it is time for another OCC challenge over at Our Creative Corner. This week Kim gave us a sketch challenge to do ... now you know I love sketch challenges hehe!

I used Anya from the Rock the Farm set which is available from The Greeting Farm! I am loving this new designer paper from Stampin' Up ... expect to see a lot of it cause I am having fun using it. When the new in colors came in last year in the US I didn't think I would be using the pacific point and kiwi kiss colors too much ... but I think that has changed now LOL ... I love the combo! I used my copic marker to color my white grosgrain ribbon to get the color I needed for my card.

Wanna play along and have a chance to win $25 worth of Clear Dollar Stamps? Lori McCroskey has generously donated this week's prize and all you have to do is upload your card to your blog or gallery and leave us a link here in this post so we can see what you made! To be included in a random drawing for the CDStamps, please have your card linked here by 12 noon on Friday, March 27th. If you upload to Splitcoast, please include OCCC in the keywords. The winner will be announced Saturday, March 28th.

Don't forget to visit the Our Creative Corner blog to see the creations from the rest of the OCC girls this week.

From One Doll To Another ....

Hi there!

My card today is for the Hanna Stamps challenge over on the Hanna Stamps members forum. This week the challenge is to use embossing on your card, heat embossing or dry embossing. Bonus points for doing both.

Well I didn't earn any bonus points because I only used one type of embossing ... dry! I used my Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder emboss the top portion of this card.

This card using "Dress Up Hanna" which was released by Hanna Stamps earlier in the month.

I have had this sentiment for years and I figured it suited this card so I used it.

Recipe:
Stamps: Dress Up Hanna - Hanna Stamps; Sentiment - Me & Carrie Lou
Paper: White; Soft Sky & Blue Bayou - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilities; Baja Breeze Grosgrain Ribbon; Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Foam Tape; Copics

A Polka Dot Challenge!

Hi there everyone! It is time for another Elzybells challenge over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge is to use polka dots on your card.

The image I used on my card is called "Shopaholic". All the layers including the base of my card were created using the curved rectangles nestabilities ... I have been wanting to use these for the whole card for a while and finally got around to actually doing it. To create my polka dots on the girls dress I first used my white gel pen and then colored each white dot using my blue copic marker ... now the dress matches my designer paper.

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Elzybells Design Team came up with for this challenge at the Elzybells blog.

Recipe:
Stamps: Shopaholic & Happy Birthday - Elzybells
Paper: White; Riding Hood Red & Baja Breeze - SU; DP - Unknown

Happy Birthday Jules!

Julie Masse's is a year older today, happy birthday Julie! Of course what better way to celebrate than a Birthday Blog Hop Prettie Girl style! As we can't get together to celebrate in person the next best thing is a virtual birthday party .... yahhhhhhhh what fun!

Now if you didn't start this hop at Jodi's blog you have missed out on all the fun .... I'll wait for you to come back!

All the Prettie Girls were asked to bring something along for the party, what is a good party without cake, presents, food, drink etc. My contribution was the present ... a girl can never have too many presents right!

I decided to use the new "Hola Chica" set for my card today, I thought she looked like she could be partying don't you! I used this week's Mojo78 sketch challenge for the layout of my card. After stamping my image on my card I then stamped my present onto the back of her hand ... see how clever she is balancing that there hehe ... just hope it isn't breakable *wink*

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the party festivities so far. Now it is time to visit the birthday girl herself .... Julie. Don't forget to leave a little love for Julie wishing her a Happy Birthday!

Recipe:
Stamps: Hola Chica Set - Paper Pretties; Present - Hero Arts
Paper: White; Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red - SU; DP - Kaisercraft

A Flopsey Birthday!

Hi everyone!

It is time for another MFT Stamps sketch challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum of SCS. This week it is my friends Cindy Haffner's turn to host the sketch.

I wanted to play with some new toys I purchased on the weekend at a local papercrafts festival here in Brisbane so out came Flopsey as he was perfect to use for my new toys.

I stamped Flopsey onto white card and then used my copic airbrush system to create the clouds and the grassy area. The clouds were created by punching out a piece of paper using my scallop circle punch. I then started down the bottom and gradually moved the template upwards as I applied my copics to my card. I then applied glue to the branches of the tree and a few places on the grass so I could apply some flower soft (yes this is one of my new toys!).

I used my new Martha Stewart Picket Fence border punch to create the fence and adhered that to the lower portion of my image using foam tape. The pink panels were both embossed using a sizzix texture template. I need more birthday cards so I decided to use a birthday sentiment for this particular card.

Here's this week's sketch! Cindy and I would love you to play along. Don't forget to upload your card to the MFTSC73 gallery on SCS to be in the running to win a $5 gift certificate. We will select the winner next week when we upload the next sketch challenge.

Is It The Easter Bunny!

Hi everyone

I am back again for the 3rd time today so if you haven't checked my other posts today scroll down!

I am a little late today getting to my card for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS as I was out with friends today. And after I said goodbye to them I was pottering around with other things like checking out the MFT Stamps blog hop. My friends and I went to one of our favorite scrapbook stores where I got some new designer papers ... yes the ones used on this card were two of them hehe!

Isn't this Easter Anya adorable!!!!!!! This is a digital stamp so I didn't have to wait for it to be posted to me .... all I had to do is pay for it and download it and then I could play! Some of the flowers I used here were a present from my friend Charlene ... thanks Charlene!

Pretties Wednesday - Enjoy Your Birthday!

Hi everyone ... I am back again today with my Pretties Wednesday challenge card. Two weeks ago Jessica Diedrich challenged the Pretties girls to create a Birthday card .... easy ha!

I used the SFYTT sketch from a few weeks ago for the layout of my card.

I love this "Trim the Tree" Sophia which is actually a Christmas stamp ... but with a little bit of covering up it can be used for any occasion you wish. I had these fun cupcake brads that I received for Christmas which I thought would be perfect for Sophia to hold. I created the photo corner by cutting a small square in half and then using my lace doily border punch.

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Pretties girls created for this challenge:
Oh I almost forgot that it is my turn to issue the challenge .... mine is due on April 1st and I was trying hard to think of something to work with that but I can't think of anything ... which is probably just as well I can hear the other Prettie Girls saying hehe. So what shall I do .... tick tick tick tick .... how about an ATC ... it has been a while since I had to make one of these!

Recipe:
Stamps: Trim The Tree - Paper Pretties; Sentiment - Hero Arts
Paper: White; Pink Pirouette & Regal Rose - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Regal Rose SU Ink; Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Pink Brads; Cupcake Brad; Lace Doily Border Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

Funky Flowers MFT Blog Hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to another MFT Stamps Blog Hop.

Now if you haven't landed on my blog from Kim (MFT Lady's) blog then you might want to stop and hop there first so you can do the blog hop from the very beginning ... this way you don't miss out on anything!

This time round we are featuring two new stamp sets that have just been released called "Funky Flowers"& "Spring Sprouts", both these sets were designed by new illustrator Sara Williams. These are both available now at the MFT Stamps store.

Ok now onto my card! The layout of my card is this months Dirty Dozen sketch, I used my square punches to create all the square layers and stamped 4 of each of the large flowers from the "Funky Flowers" set onto each square. The sentiment in the middle square is from "Can You Dig It". The yellow glittered centres on 4 of my flowers are the brand new "glittered dots & flowers - spring collection".

Well it is now time to leave my blog and go visit my friend Cindy Haffner's blog. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy our blog hop.

This Much!

Hi! It's Pretties Tuesday so I have another card to share with you today using Paper Pretties stamps.

I just love this cute little Cooper from the new stamp set called "Love You This Much" which was released by Paper Pretties earlier in the month.

I created this for one of the Stampin in your Jammies challenges which was to create a card using the colors of your favorite cartoon character. I used Sponge Bob as my inspiration ... I can't say he is my favorite character as I have never watched him ... but I have seen lots of pics of him and he looks cute! I colored in Cooper using the colors from Sponge Bob which are brown, yellow and red.

Recipe: Stamps: Love You This Much - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Brown; DP - Kaiser
Other: Black Ink; Tag Corner Punch; Brown Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

Heard You Caught A Bug!

Hi everyone ... I am back with another card to share with you today! Today is the day that Elzybells Art Stamps releases their new stamps!

I just love these new mini stamps which is from the "Mini Messages - Critters" set ... each mini stamp included in the set comes with two different sentiments that you can use. Here I used "Heard you caught a bug" to make my card a get well card which is perfect with this cute ladybug .... but I could have also used "Let's do Lunch" cause the bug is eating that leaf! There are also other sentiments that are with the other images in this set that would also work ... the two I mentioned are just the two sentiments that are directly underneath that particular image.

I kept my card fairly simple today ... I know that is unusual for me. I used the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the top portion of my card and my score pal to create 3 score lines underneath the embossing. I also added paper piercing along the bottom up to my sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Elzybells Design Team's blogs to see some more sneak peeks ... you can find the links to their blogs on my side bar. I will be back tomorrow with another Elzybells card for you.

CCEE - Ahoy There!

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I had a fun one demoing at a local papercraft show, it is fun to be able to catch up with all those stamping friends I have made over the years.

It is time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends. This week the challenge is a sketch challenge which you can see below.

I decided to do something a little different today with my card, instead of using designer paper or plain card for the left panel I decided to have a scene. I stamped the Scene panel from Starving Artistamps onto my panel and colored it with my copic markers. I stamped the pirate on my other panel and then lined it up with my scene and drew in the areas for the sand, sea, mountains and sky to match the scene.

I attached the treasure chest to the area where the circle is shown on the sketch ... this was for a sentiment or embellishment. I did tweak the sketch a little as adding the ribbon to my card where it is shown on the sketch would not have looked right being that my panel was a scene ... so I added the sentiment lower down, which is kind of the same shape as ribbon would have been ..... well almost *wink*

Don't forget to visit our CCEE Stampers blog to see the rest of the teams creations. Why not play along too ... don't forget to place a link in the comments section of our CCEE blog so we can see your wonderful creations.

For You!

Elzybells Art Stamps have a new release this coming Monday 16th March, and today I have another sneak peek to share with you ... I just love this new set!

The stamps used in my card today come from the new set called" Spring Cubes". The image used here is actually 3 separate rectangle cubed images that are included in this set along with 2 other square images and a number of sentiments. I love how easy it is to either use just the one cube image for your card or like I did here use 3 together to make a larger image.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Elzybells Design Team's blogs to see some more sneak peeks ... you can find the links to their blogs on my side bar. I will be back tomorrow with another Elzybells card for you.

Is it Time for Bed Yet!

Hi there ... well it might be time for bed for some of you out there but definitely not for me as I haven't long been up LOL! But when I looked at my card I figured that worked for a title!

It is challenge time over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Paper Craft Planet Group. This week my friend Cindy Haffner is hosting the challenge. You have two weeks from today to participate in this challenge and you also have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card is selected randomly from all the entries received.

Cindy's challenge was a color challenge ... we had to use purple, pink and green on our cards ... pretty simple!

As I recently received this bed stamp which is part of a furniture um plate from Alota Rubber Stamps, I wanted to use that for my card. And I just had to use Shelley & Bill to create my card ... aren't they cute and perfect to go with that bed! I have had the two bug stamps for years and I think they are very pleased to finally have a bed to sleep in hehe!

OK in case you are asking where is the green ... it is there ... on the bugs wings and also if you look in the designer paper ... see I did use it hehe! I didn't think my card needed another layer so I didn't include it.

Hope to see you over on the Alota Rubber Stamps PCP group.

OCC - Just Clowing Around!

Hello everyone! It is time for another challenge over at Our Creative Corner, this week Kim challenge us all to a limited supply challenge. We could use a mximum of 3 layers on our card, 1 main image, 1 type of embellishment (buttons OR ribbon OR brads) and a sentiment was optional.

Now most of my cards have 3 layers just for the main image LOL so I had to think about this one for a bit!

I used this cute clown image from Whipper Snapper Designs for my card and decided to stick to primary colors as I thought it would make a fun kids card. I decided to use brads as may 1 embellishment .... yes I used lots of them hehe! I did add some paper piercing to the corners of my main image ... I hope that was allowed but I thought it needed something in those two corners so I went with it.

Visit the Our Creative Corner blog to see the creations from the rest of the OCC girls this week.

Together Like Bees and Honey!

Hi everyone!

I have another Elzybells sneak peek to share with you today! Elzybells Art Stamps will be releasing new stamps this coming Monday 16th March.

My card today uses stamps from two of the new sets that will be released, "Faux Postage" & "Mini Messages - Critters". The first is a set that includes a series of different sized postage stamp and some post related sentiments ... for any one wanting to have a go at faux post this is a fantastic set to get. The second set contains 9 cute mini stamps and 18 different sentiments which relate to the images included in the set ... these are great to use with the faux post set, but of course would also be perfect to use on their own.

It has been a number of years since I have made anything faux post related so it was fun to play around with these sets. I stamped the postage stamp 4 times on my card so that it resembles stamps that are in a set. I stamped the postage stamp onto a post it note and created a reverse mask so that when I stamped the mini stamps into the centre of the postage stamp it didn't go where I didn't want it. I also added paper piercing in between each postage stamp.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Elzybells Design Team's blogs to see some more sneak peeks ... you can find the links to their blogs on my side bar. I will be back tomorrow with another Elzybells card for you.

For You Mother!

Elzybells Art Stamps have a new release this coming Monday 16th March, so for the next few days I will be sharing with you some cards I have made using some of the stamps that will be available.

Mother's Day is only a couple of months away now, it will be here before we know it. Some of the new stamps to be released are ideal to use for this occasion but can of course also be used for lots of other occasions too.

I used the "Spring Cubes" stamp set to create my card today ... this is such a great set. My card uses two of the sentiments which I just placed together on my acrylic block before stamping onto my card.

A Shady Tree!

Hi everyone.

Thursday is sketch challenge day over at the MFT Stamps Member Forum of SCS. This week it is my time to host the challenge.

I just love this new "Tea With Flopsey" set that was released by MFT Stamps last week. I stamped Flopsey onto my white card and then masked my image. I then used my Copic Air Brush System to create my sky and grass. I tried something different this week for my sky ... so far I had only sprayed the sky all over but I decided to use a cloud stencil this time for a different look. I have used cloud stencils a lot previous for straight sponging but this is the first time I have used it when airbrushing.

I used floral fantasy & leafy branches to add texture to the pink & blue panels of my card.

I cut my sentiment apart so I could use just the first line on the front of my card and then easily stamp the second line onto the inside of my card.

Here's this week's sketch! Cindy and I would love you to play along. Don't forget to upload your card to the MFTSC72 gallery on SCS to be in the running to win a $5 gift certificate. We will select the winner next week when we upload the next sketch challenge.

Paper: White; Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette & Kiwi Kiss - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Floral Fantasy & Leafy Branches Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Olive Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape; Copic Airbrush System; Copics

Pretties Wednesday - Mojo Bug!

Hi everyone .... It is Pretties Wednesday, which means it is time for another Pretties challenge with the Pretties Girls.

Two weeks ago Jacque Pedro challenge the Pretties Girls to create a card using the colors Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and Kraft.

Just as well I ordered some more kraft card the other week after I ran out of it when I did another challenge with it recently. I love using Baja Breeze and Chocolate together and it was pretty easy to include kraft to it.

I used last week's Mojo sketch (Mojo 76) for the layout of my card. The stamp set I used is called Wade E Bug, I just love using these colors on him.
Recipe:
Stamps: Wade E Bug - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip & Kraft; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Foam Tape; Copics

And now that the US are back on daylight saving time it means I get to do it an hour earlier .... yahhhhhhh! It means I might get it finished before DH & DD come home from work!

My card today uses Ian from The Greeting Farm ... isn't he adorable! I have had this fishing themed designer paper for I don't know how long so I figured it was time to cut it up haha! The texture on the river rock base panel is the distress stripes cuttlebug embossing folder, I sponged it with river rock ink once it was embossed.

Knightrone!

Happy Monday everyone!

Once upon a time there were a group of 8 stampers who called themselves the CCEE Stampers ...... hehehehehe ..... I just had to do that!

Well as you know Monday's mean challenge time with my other CCEE Stamper friends and this week we have another CNFS (Catchy Name Featured Stamper) challenge ... this is one of my favorite challenges that we do each month as someone selects the name of somebody over on SCS who has a Catchy User name. We then create our cards around their name and send them the card. This month it is my turn to pick someone. Can you guess who it is hehe!

Yeap you guessed right! It is Knightrone aka Jessie Rone. For this challenge the instructions were that we must use something to do with KNIGHT's not nights on our card.

For my card I actually CASED a card I created a number of years back for a friend. The inspiration for that card came from something I saw in a Stampers Sampler mag and I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to figure out how to make something similar. This isn't a card I would want to make too often as it has numerous complicated cuts & folds in it, but I did enjoy doing this one for Jessie.

This time round I did update my card a little by using a different Knight & Princess ... these are one of the Doodle Factory stamps by Starving Artistamps.

Don't forget to visit our CCEE Stampers blog to see what the other girls came up with this week. You can also see the details on how you can play in this challenge if you wish.

Rebus - "D" Words

Hi everyone.

It's time for another rebus, I know there are a few of you out there that enjoy trying to solve these. I love seeing your comments with your solutions each month.

This time round the theme of this rebus is "D" words ... which of course means that every rebus here will start with the letter "D". See how you go solving them.

If you would like to solve it, why not post a comment to this blog post with your answers. I will let you know what the correct answers are next time I post a rebus card here.

Here is the solutions for the last rebus I posted a couple of weeks ago, which was "Cuttlebug Embossing Folders":
  • Spots & Dots
  • Tiny Mosaic
  • Winter House
  • Bloom Dots
  • Heart Blocks
You can find all my past rebus cards here.

Easter Wishes!

Hi everyone ... hope you are all enjoying you Saturday!

I have some news for you today ... I have been invited to join the Our Creative Corner design team! What fun! I am looking forward to playing the challenges each week with the other members of this talented team.

My card today is for this week's challenge which was to add doodling to our cards. It could be a hand written or hand drawn element. I don't do much doodling normally ... so this was kind of a challenge for me, but I liked what I finally came up with.

The cute little "Chick in Egg" & "Easter Wishes" are both available from Alota Rubber Stamps. I only inked up the centre portion of the sentiment to use on my card.

Of course I used my Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder to create the texture on my base card. I am sure one day I will wear this folder out LOL, it has to be one of my favorites!

Recipe:
Stamps: Chick in Egg & Sentiment - Alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Sage Shadow - SU; DP - Basic Grey

I've Never Met a Chocolate I Didn't Like!

Hi there everyone ... well it is time for another Elzybells challenge over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge is a sketch challenge which is my favorite type of challenge!

I used the new "Just Desserts" set and the "Chocolate Never Met" sentiment to create my card. It has been a while since I have added sewing to my card so I decided to get my sewing machine out and add stitching to all my layers on this card. I added the sentiment to the bottom of the side panel on the sketch.

Here is the sketch .... hope you enjoy playing too.

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Elzybells Design Team came up with for this challenge at the Elzybells blog.

This week I used MFT Stamps new "Hangin' with my Peep's" set ... isn't it just adorable ... perfect for Easter but it is also suitable for many other occasions as there are lots of different sentiments. I used the "A little bird told me..." sentiment on my ... which could mean it is birthdays or whatever. the little chick that is on the paving on the main image and also the one with the sentiment were added after I stamped the image etc ... these are two separately individual stamps which means you can put little chicks wherever you want them to be ... cool ha!

The designer paper I used for my card is from the new MFT Stamps 6 x 6 designer paper packs ... this one used here is the Spring collection. I also used this paper to paper piece the girls dress.

Here's this week's sketch! Cindy and I would love you to play along. Don't forget to upload your card to the MFTSC71 gallery on SCS to be in the running to win a $5 gift certificate. We will select the winner next week when we upload the next sketch challenge.

Pretties Wednesday - A Quilt Card

Hi again everyone .... I am back today with my Pretties Wednesday card. Two weeks ago Jackie
Rakoski challenge all the Prettie Girls to create a Quilt card. I was actually going to use Bunny Hop for my card but then I ended up using this designer paper to create my quilt pattern and it just screamed Cooper! Now how can I argue with that LOL.

Once I had worked out what designer paper I was using (that took some time to decide hehe), this card ended up being fairly easy to make ... I selected 4 different patterns from my designer paper pack and then I cut out my square to 3.5cm square cutting 4 squares from each pattern making a total of 16 squares. I then adhered these all onto my square base card.

I stamped Cooper from "Love You This Much" this set was released on Monday ... and I can't stop playing with it hehe!

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Pretties girls created for this challenge:
Recipe:
Stamps: Love You This Much Set - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Kiwi Kiss & Not Quite Navy - SU; DP - SU
Other: Black Ink; Square Nestabilities; Label Tag Dies; Blue Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

"Egg"stra Special!

I just couldn't resist getting a couple of the "Egg" stamps recently from Whipper Snapper stamps ... this one is called "Egg"stra Special.

I used the floral fantasy cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the teal base panel.

Recipe:
Stamps: "Egg"stra Special & Sentiment - Whipper Snapper Designs

Daddy's Little Girl ... Let's Blog Hop!

G'day and welcome to MFT Stamps new release blog hop! If you haven't landed on my blog from Cindy Haffner's blog then you may want to go and visit Kim MFT Lady's blog so that you can start at the beginning of the hop. You don't want to miss any of the wonderful creations the MFT Design Team have created for you to see today.

My card uses the new Stephanie Fizer "Nite Nite Ellie" which will be released by MFT Stamps after the release party later tonight. Isn't Ellie adorable ... the inspiration of this stamp set was Jen of Iheart2stamp blog daughter Ellie ... now isn't that just cool! $2.00 from each retail sale of this set for 6 months will be donated to St. Judes Children Hospital!

I used a recent SCS sketch challenge to create my card, Ellie pj's were paper pieced using the same designer paper that I used for the horizontal panel underneath the image. I stamped "Daddy's Little" & "Girl" onto my stars which I attached around the main panel of my image. There are a number of other sentiments you could use included in this stamp set including "Mommy's", "Angel" & "Princess".

Some of the MFT Stamps design team have created a special tips sheet that you can find over in the How's They Do That forum, so don't forget to visit that after you have finished blog hopping. I will be showing you how I use the scallop nestabilites and cut and piece them to make them shorter or taller to fit my images.

Well now it is time to leave my blog and hop on over to Holly's blog so you can continue on your blog hoping journey. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hippity Hoppity!

Hi everyone ... it's Pretties Tuesday so I have another Paper Pretties project to share with you today.

Paper Pretties had it's monthly "Stampin in your Jammies" party over on the Paper Pretties forum on Sunday to celebrate the release of some new stamps. Bunny Hop which is the set I used for my cards today has now been released to the public, so if you missed out on getting this set when it was the SOTM now is your chance to get it.

One of the challenges during the party was to create a set of coordinating 3 x 3 notecards. Well with Easter approx one month away I decided to use Bunny Hop to create my notecards.

Here is a close up of my notecard. I used my circle nestabilities to create the circle layers. I added paper piercing along the bottom edge of my card.

I punched out the sentiment using my oval punch and attached it to the centre of my notecards.

Recipe:
Stamps: Bunny Hop - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Regal Rose & Pretty In Pink - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Circle Nestabilities; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Oval Punch; Bling; Foam Tape; Copics

Wee Hanna Paper Dolls!

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a couple of projects I did using the new "Wee Hanna" paper doll set which will be released tonight Monday 2nd March.

This time I just made a plain old fashioned "paper" paper doll set ... well card anyway. To dress Wee Hanna you just fold over the tabs which are included on the images ... remember those!

I created this little folder which is based on the idea of the CD holder I showed you yesterday but on a smaller scale.

Here is the inside ... the paper dolls and her clothes just slip into the pocket where they can stay until you are ready to play with them another day. This is sooo easy to make.

My second card is ... yes a pirate card .... I love pirates too hehe! I had this fun pink pirate designer paper so of course I had to make a pink card.

This card using Taylor's of Taylored Expressions TECC56 sketch.

Recipe:
Stamps: Wee Hanna - Hanna Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Pirate DP - Rusty Pickle; Multi Colored Square DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilites; Circle Nestabilities; Black Brads; Magnetic Closure; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Spots & Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

A Cup of Tea, A Shady Tree!

Hi everyone! Isn't this image just sooooooooo cute! This is the new Flopsey set called "Tea with Flopsey" which will be released by MFT Stamps this Wednesday 4th March.

I used the new 6 x 6 Spring Collection Designer Paper pack to create my card.

Fright for Sore Eyes!

Hi again!

Well you all know that Monday here means that it is time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends. We are also into a new month, March ... wow were does the time go! Anyway as it is a new month we also have a new challenge hostess, which is me this month!

This card is also the start of my MFTeaser's I have to share with you this week. MFT will be releasing 5 new stamps sets this Wednesday 4th March .... I used the new Monsters Ink set to create my card today .... isn't he cute! Never having met any monsters personally I wasn't sure what color to use for him hehe .... but I ended up deciding on blue ... looks like a good color to color a monster don't you think.

Ok so I still haven't told you what the challenge is this week ... sorry for keeping you in suspense! A few week's ago I had to do a tutorial for MFT Stamps on way of using their digital papers ... one of the ideas I had was to use the digital papers by printing on those sticky labels ... you can see the part that relates to labels here .

Anyway this got me thinking about how we used to use these sticky labels to create our cards, which I hadn't done for ages (and I guess still haven't *wink*). So my challenge to my CCEE Stamper friends was to use the sticky labels to create their card .... they could stamp their main image on the labels and have that as the feature of their card .... stamp their background on the labels and use that .... or print digital papers onto them and use that ... or combine all three hehe!

As I had printed out a few different digital papers onto some labels when I did my tutorial and hadn't used them all as yet, I decided to use one of those to create my card for this challenge.

Don't forget to visit our CCEE Stampers blog to see what the rest of the team came up with this week. You are more then welcome to play ..... leave a comment on our group blog so we can check out your cards.

You Rock!

We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

Yes I am singing again ... sorry but I couldn't help it ... blame it on "Rockstar Hanna" another of the new stamp sets which will be released by Hanna Stamps Monday Night 2nd March.

This is one rocking stamp set and my first project I am sharing with you today is a CD holder. The top pic shows the front of the CD holder.

I used my circle nestabilities to create the circle layers here. I also added dimensional magic to her guitar to give it a shiny look.

Here is the back of the CD holder ... I kept it this side very plain only stamping the "Backstage Pass" image to use as a closure.

And here is the inside ... still plain ... but I am showing you so you can see what it looks like inside.

I also created this card with the "Rockstar Hanna" set ... Hanna is really rocking out there don't you think!!!!!! The sentiment used on this card isn't part of the set ... but I had to use it cause it was just perfect for my card.

Hola Chica

Hi again!

My card uses the new Hola Chica stamp set that is to the Paper Pretties SOTM for April, isn't she cute!

These aren't colors I normally use a lot when I create my cards .... but I really felt in the mood to use this Basic Grey designer paper that has been sitting in my collection of designer papers for a while now. I used my long rectangle nestabilities to create my layers for my main image. The top right corner of my card has a paper pierced corner.

On Sunday March 1st, Paper Pretties will be having their monthly Stampin In Your Jammies party!! The party starts at 6pm CDT and will last until 9pm. We will be issuing a challenge every hour so be sure to come and play along!! Besides the challenges, chatter, and all around fun, we will also be releasing Bunny Hop Sophia to the public as well as a new stamp set!! Sneak peeks start on Friday, February 27th!! Hope to see you there!!

Happy Day!

It is time for another challenge over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Paper Craft Planet Group. This week the challenge is hosted by me. You have two weeks from today to participate in this challenge and you also have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card is selected randomly from all the entries received.

Well you all know that I love doing sketch challenges, so it probably comes as no surprise that my challenge today is a sketch challenge. You can see my sketch below or pop on over to the Alota Rubber Stamps group on PCP.

I decided to use Girlfriend Cheryl to create my card today ... I love these Girlfriend stamps they are so cute ... this one was named after fellow Alota Rubber Design Team member Cheryl Walker.

I have been having lots of fun playing with Gina K Designs new digi papers ... this one is called floral frenzy. I also used the mustard colored digi paper to paper piece the girls dress.

Hope to see you over on the Alota Rubber Stamps PCP group.

And here is the prize you could win if you play along using Alota Rubber Stamps and add your card to the PCP gallery using the tag Alota6. This stamp set is called "Silly Sarah"
