Hi Honey

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce a new challenge hostess which is Lois Bak.

Apparently September is Honey Month. For our challenge this week, include something related to honey on your card – bees, honeycombs, beehives.

I had hoped to create a card using the new Divinity Designs Bee themed stamps, dies and papers which were released yesterday. At the time of making this card I am still waiting for my August parcel, so I knew the odds that my September one would get here in time was pretty slim. So plan B it was!

I decided to pull out my Elizabeth Craft Designs Mason Jar Kit to make a Shaped Slimline Shaker card. I think I covered everything honey related ... honey jar, honeycomb, bees, beehive and bears.

I die cut the the Mason Jar four times from light yellow cardstock with one cutting the window in the front of it. This panel I covered with acetate.

For the jar panel that was to be behind the acetate window, I used Whimsy Stamps Honeycomb Drips Stencil to create the honeycomb background. I also die cut the dripping honey from the Mason Jar Kit which I added to the top of the jar.

I used Whimsy Stamps Hello Bear Stamp Set to create my scene inside the Mason Jar.

For the jar's lid, I die cut the lid from a different shade of yellow cardstock, sponging ink around the edges. I added the "Hi Honey" to the lid using stamps from the Honey Bee Stamps Hi Honey stamp set, the sentiment in the shaker portion of the card is also from this stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I used an oval die included in the Studio Katia Dotted Slimline Set 1 die set. I used more stamp sets from Honey Bee Stamps to add the sentiment and images (see supply list for details)

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
