Take Time to Smell the Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends,

Down here in Australia, it is the first day of Spring, yay! While we don't get the cold winters many of you get in the Northern Hemisphere, my favourite season is Spring. The weather is perfect, not to hot and not too cold and some many beautiful flowers blooming.

I created a Slimline card using stamps and dies from Honey Bee Stamps.

For the background of my card I used blue paper from Lawn Fawn to create the sky portion of the card. I used Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Slimline die set to create the two grass panels and fence for the bottom part of the card.

To decorate my card I used the Sandie & Sis stamp set to create my gardening scene. The bear is larger than a 4 inch slimline card, so as I was putting the dress of the bear which is included in the stamp set. I decided to cut the bear along the stomach and glue it back together, to make it slightly smaller. This way the bear didn't go beyond the fold line of the card. I used all the accessories from the stamp set to create my scene.

The sentiment on the top right hand side of my card, is from the My Favorite Flower stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I used the grass die from the Horizon Slimline die set to add the grass along the bottom edge of the card. I stamped the flower pot,s watering can, boots and flowers from the Sandie & Sis stamp set and adhered them to my the grass area.

For the sentiment, I used two of the birthday sentiments from the Miss You Big Time stamp set.

Welcome Spring Circle Tag Book Pop-up

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a "Spring" themed card with you all. Where I live it is now officially autumn as we have just finished summer. However for those of you who live in the Northern Hemisphere, you will be welcoming Spring  soon which is my favorite time of year.

For my card today I created a Circle Tag Book Pop-up using the die set from Karen Burniston.

To decorate my card I used stamps from Riley and Company. The Riley image is one of the Riley images included in the Basic Dress Up Riley Red Rubber stamp set. All the other stamps including those to dress Riley are from the Dress Up Riley - Spring Showers Clear Stamp set.

Along the bottom edge of the front of the Circle Tag Book Pop-up I used the border die from the Natures Edges die set to create the grass.

For the inside of my Circle Tag Book Pop-up Card, I added more of the images from the Dress Up Riley - Spring Showers Clear stamp set.

Here is a close up photo of the left side of my Circle Tag Book Pop-up Card.

And finally, a close up view of the right hand side of my Circle Tag Book Pop-up Card.

Hello Spring

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I created using products from Concord & 9th.

I have loved seeing all the cards created using their Aloha Friends Stamp set, Aloha Fill-In Patterned Paper & Fill-In Stencil, so of course I had to order these so I could play myself. If you haven't seen these already the papers come with the flowers uncoloured, so you can use the stencil to add the color and details to the flowers, there are 4 different designs and there is also designs on the reverse side of the paper to give you even more options.

As you can see I colored my flowers pink using Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple Distress Oxides inks. For the sentiment I used the "INSPIRING" sentiment from the Aloha Friends stamp set, masking the "IN & I" to create the word "SPRING" .... it's spring here where I live so I thought it would be fun to create a spring card with this set. I added a "Hello" sentiment ... so it says "Hello Spring". The SPRING is stamped onto vellum and embossed using black powder so you can still see the designer paper through the vellum.

I also used the border stamp included in the stamp set, to stamp a border on either side of the card.

For the inside of the card I kept to the same layout as I did the front of the card. I stamped the "FABULOUS" "You're" and "Friend" onto the centre of the white panel using black ink. I also added flowers to the top and bottom of the card.

Stamps: Aloha Friend - Concord & 9th
Paper: White; Green; Pink; Vellum; Aloha Fill-In Patterned Paper - Concord & 9th
Other: Black Ink; VersaMark Ink; Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide; Candied Apple Distress Oxide; Lucky Moss Distress Oxide; Black Embossing Powder; White Embossing Powder; Aloha Fill-In Stencils - Concord & 9th; Nuvo Bubblegum Pink Gloss Crystal Drops; Nuvo Woodland Green Gloss Crystal Drops; Foam Tape

********************

I forgot to take step by step photos of my card when I was making it, which is probably just as well as it changed so many times along the way haha. But here is how I made it.

Step 1.
Cut a piece of Sunflower Yellow Soft Finish Cardstock which measures 5 3/4 inches x 11 1/2 inches. Score along the long side at 5 3/4 inches and fold to create a 5 3/4 inch top folding square card.
  • Cut a piece of Bright Orange Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 1/2 inches square and adhere on top of the folded card.
  • Using the largest square from the Stitched Squares die set, die cut a square from White Soft Finish Cardstock.
Step 2.
Using the largest of the Entwined Ovals, die cut two ovals from Dark Chocolate Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back. Adhere the Entwined Ovals to the centre of the white card offsetting one over the other slightly.
  • Sponge some Fossilizled Amber & Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide around the outside edge of the white square, spritz the ink with water to distress slightly and dry using a heat gun.
  • Adhere panel to folded card created in step 1.

Step 3.
Using the Flower Power stamp set, stamp out two flowers onto White Soft Finish Cardstock using black ink.
  • Use the coordinating dies to die cut the flowers. Color as desired.
  • Adhere the flowers to the top left hand corner of the card using foam tape.
  • Using the ModaScrap Leafy Branch 5, die cut two branches from Olive Twist Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut both branches so that you have one branch with three sections and the other with two. Adhere around flowers using the photo above as a guide.
  • Using the smallest flower from the ModaScrap Dandelion Fluff die set, die cut 4 flowers from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Lightly sponge Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide over the flower section of the die cut and then go over the tips of the flowers using Carved Pumpkin Distress ink. Sponge Peeled Paint Distress Oxide to the stem of the flowers. Adhere the Dandelions to the card using photo above as Guide
  • Die cut A  Way with Words - Hello sentiment from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and cover with Sea Glass Silk Microfine Glitter. Polish glitter into adhesive with your fingers. Adhere sentiment inside oval as per photo above.
  • Apply some Kids Choice Glue to the centre of each of the flowers and cover the glue with prills. Allow to dry.

Step 4 Inside of Card -
Using the largest square from the Stitched Squares die set, die cut a square from White Soft Finish Cardstock.
  • Layer the white panel onto a piece of Bright Orange Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 1/2 inches square and adhere panel to inside of card.
  • Die cut the word "Spring" from A Way with Words 4 Seasons die set from Bright Orange Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back. Adhere sentiment to sentiment of card.
  • Using the double flower stamp from the Flower Power stamp set, stamp this above and below the sentiment using black ink. Color as desired. Add Orange/Silver Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers to the centre of the flowers.
That's it from me today, I hope you enjoyed my card and tutorial. Don't forget to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog to see all the wonderful creations by our talented designers and for a change to win the giveaway.

PIU-FrogOwlBench3-wm

For my card today I used the Pop It Ups Garden Bench Pop Up die set to create a fun Spring/Easter card. Now I must confess that for me Easter isn’t in Spring seeing that I live in Australia where it is now Autumn …. but I still had fun making this card Smile.

To decorate my card I used stamps from the Hero Arts Sending Happy Thoughts stamp set.

PIU-FrogOwlBench4-wm

To create the shaped edges at the top and bottom of my card I used one of the edges from the Agatha Edges die set.

I also added the sentiment using some of the labels from the Katie Label Pivot Card die set.

PIU-FrogOwlBench5-wm

Behind the Garden Bench I used the All Seasons Tree …. I decorated the tree using the 3 different leaves from the tree and also some flowers seeing this is a spring card.

And here is the front of my card. I added the owl and a sentiment which are both also included in the stamp set I used to decorate my card. The ovals are from the Oval Accordion Card die set.

The bird I stamped on scrap card and cut out and attached just to the edge of the left side of the circle. The circle is layered onto the MFT Die-namics Open Scallop Doily.

It Moooo-st Be Spring!

C4C-cow-tent-wm

Can you believe it is Saturday already, it only seems like a day or two ago that it was last Saturday LOL! Of course Saturday’s mean it is challenge time over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week our challenge hostess for March, Barb Anders has come up with another fun challenge for us all! Spring is almost here … let’s welcome it with some bright and cheerful projects.

Our sponsor for the next two week’s is Digital Delights by Louby Loo. A

th_DigitalDelightsNewBadgeDesignfin-1

Well it may be almost spring up there in the northern hemisphere, but down here where I live it is now well and truly into autumn … not that we really have an autumn in my part of Australia … they do in the southern states though … so while many of you are anticipating summer, I have winter to look forward to!

Anyway I got to play with one of Digital Delights by Louby Loo’s digi images to create my card, this one is called Claudia Cow … I thought it looked like it might be spring wherever Claudia lives hehe!

I decided to create a tent card, I haven’t made one of these in years so it was fun to play with this one, although it is a bit different to the ones I used to make.

It’s Pure Innocence!

MFT-Blooming-Day-wm

Hi everyone,

I have two more MFTeasers to share with you all today in readiness of the MFT Stamps new release to be held this coming Wednesday 3rd February.

Today the MFT Design team are featuring the “Pure Innocence” range, there will actually be 3 Pure Innocence stamps sets that will be released this week!

For my first card, I have used “Blooming Good Day”, I used the copic airbrush and a scallop oval scrap to create the sky. I also paper pieced the girls dress.

The layout of this card using the Mojo Sketch challenge from 18th January.

MFT-Blooming-Day2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, using the sentiment also included in this set.

Recipe:

Stamps: Blooming Good Day – MFT Stamps

Paper: White; Orange; DP – Basic Grey

Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilities; Grosgrain Ribbon; MS Spring Border Punch; Orange Candy Dots; Circle Punches; Foam Tape; Copic Airbrush; Copics

MFT-Make-Grade2-wm

For my 2nd project today I used the new “Make The Grade” set and decided to alter a mini lunch tin. Because the tin had purple and pink trims I used this purple/pink designer paper, normally these colors would be the last colors I would use when creating something school related.

MFT-Make-Grade-wm Here is another view of the front of the tin at a different angle. The ruler on the right side of the tin is actually a button.

And finally the inside of my tin, I used the sentiment that is also included in this stamp set. I filled the tin with colored pencils etc.

Don't forget! The MFT February Guest Designer Challenge - Think Spring! Your chance to win all the stamp sets for the March release and to join the design team for the March Release! You can find all the details here.

Want to see even more MFTeasers using the three sets that the Design Team are featuring today, then hop on over to Kim’s (MFT Lady) blog to see the list of which design team members will be featuring a card/project on their blog today. Kim will have the list posted to her blog at 11am EST.
