Trick or Treat?

Hi everyone!
It is time for another Hanna Stamps Friday challenge over on the Hanna Stamps Member Forum of SCS. This week Cindy Haffner is hosting the chalelnge which is a Trick or Treat challenge to create something to holds treats (toppers, boxes, bags etc…)
I decided to use my sizzix matchbox die to create my treat box for this challenge. I covered the top of the box with designer paper and then used the question marker image that is included in the new Detective Hanna set that was released earlier in the week for the top of my box. I wonder what is in the box????????
Well it isn’t a secret anymore. Halloween candy of course … my DD found these cute colored bones and liquorice lollies on her travels and got me some as she knew I could use it for one of my projects.

Spooktacular Halloween!

It is Elzybells challenge time over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge was to create a 3D item - bags, boxes, different shaped cards (pyramid, tri fold shutter, stair step etc).

I decided to create a Halloween treat bag using my sizzix bag with scallops die. I also used one of the new Elzybells stamps sets – Mini Messages Happy Haunting.

Cultivate Joy!

Hi everyone,
I have one more MFTeaser to share with you all today. My card uses the new Annie La Pointe “Garden of Joy” set which is one of the new stamp sets that will be released by MFT Stamps after the release party tonight on SCS.
While I was cleaning out a draw to make room for more border punches, I discovered these lattice cut out fronts that I cut out ages ago using my cricut, so I decided to make use of one of them for this card. I used the moroccan screen cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the panel. I cut out the words “cultivate” & “joy” from the sentiment to add those to my card. Finally I added Swarovski Crystals to the lattice portion of the card.

Pick Of The Patch!

Hi everyone!

It is time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop. If you didn't hop onto my blog via Christi Thorsen's blog then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie Ortman's blog.

This week our challenge was issued by Danielle Lounds who challenged us with a sketch challenge. I actually flipped and mirrored the sketch so that I could put my sentiment where the blank space was on my image panel rather than at the bottom as shown in the sketch.

I used the new Paper Pretties “Pick of the Patch” stamp set for my card. I was the EK Success Bat Border punch to create the border on the top and bottom of the centre panel.

In The Background … We’re Hopping Round The Block!

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to my blog. It time to join the MFT Stamps Design Team for another "Hop Around the Block"
Now if you didn't hop onto my blog from Kathy Daume's  blog then you might want to hop back to Kim's (MFT Lady) blog so that you can start at the beginning of the hop. You don't want to miss anything and there is lots to see!
MFT Stamps will be releasing six new stamp sets, these will all be available on the MFT Stamps store after our MFT Stamps Release party which starts tonight at 8pm EST over on the MFT Member Forum of SCS.!
Today I have decided to feature the new “In The Background” stamp set. This is one of those stamp sets which is a must have! It contains a large background stamp which is what I have used to stamp the background panel of my card and also the stripe that is wrapped around my tin. But not only do you get the background set but you also get three other images, the teapot (used on my samples today), a flower and a bird! Such a versatile set!

Here is a close up of my card, as you can see I have paper pieced the teapot using the same designer paper that I used for the base of my card.  As mentioned above the middle panel was created using the background stamp from the In The Background set. I wanted to have a mixture of the two colors that are on the designer paper, so I first inked up my stamp with orange ink and then randomly inked it up again using red ink before stamping on my white card.

For my tin I added a scallop border to the top and bottom of my decorated piece of card that I used to wrap around the tin.

Riley’s Searching!

Hi everyone,

I have one last Hanna Stamps sneak peek before the release of the new stamps after the release party over on the Hanna Stamps member forum of SCS.

This time round I am using Detective Riley …. isn’t he just soooooo cool! When I saw this week’s weekend sketch challenge over on Beate’s blog over the weekend, I thought it would be fun to use a word search for the centre panel and have riley in the circle. I have a word search stamp which I have had for years so I decided to use that but if you wanted to do something similar you could google “Word Search creator” and you will find another of site that will generate a word search puzzle using words of your choosing.

Here is the inside … I stamped the sentiment “Searching for the Right Words to Say” which is another stamp I have had for years that goes with the word search and then added “Happy Birthday” which is part of Hanna Stamps Greeting set. Going with the word them I decided to use my ABC border punch to create the border on the inside of my card.

Boo To You!

Hi again everyone,

I am back again today with one more challenge card to share with you. This time it is for this week’s Pink Elephant challenge. The challenge this week is a color challenge: Orange, Black, Purple & White!

For me these colors yelled out Halloween so I decided to use MFT Stamps new Digi Stamp Kit that was released last week. Aren’t these kids positively cute! Have you heard of “Boo Buckets” … well until this kit came out I hadn’t! Apparently what you do hang the boo sign near your front so your friends know you have been booed. Fill a bucket full of treats, include the poem, the boo sign and instructions for your friends to follow and then leave it secretly at their front door. The idea is that they continue the boo taking the treats out of the bucket and refilling it and passing it on to their friends. What a fun idea!

Anyway the new Digi Kit will contain this adorable Halloween image by Stephanie Fizer, a digital download “tag” sheet, a digital download “instructions” sheet, and a sentiment pack (like a digi stamp, but with only sentiments) and also a downloadable project sheet. The kit will also include the poem etc you need to make your own boo buckets.

I decided to create a door hanger that can be hung of the door. I printed out the digital image at 70% on white card and again on photocopy paper. I then masked the kids and used my copic airbrush to add the color to my image. I removed the masks & colored.

To create my hanger I cut my white card 9 1/2cm x 25.5cm and rounded the corners. I used a wide oval punch to punch out the centre part at the top of the hanger and then just cut from the edge to the oval cut out at an angle so that the hanger can be placed on a door. The black layer is just .5cm wider. For those in USA the conversion would be approx 3 3/4 inches x 10 inches. I also colored the hanger using my airbrush and then stamped out the spider web from the Totally Witchin’ stamp set.

Here is a close up of the image … I colored the kids in the colors needed for the color challenge ….. orange, black & purple! I also used Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink – Sugarberry on the purple bunting hanging above the kids.

And a close up of the boo poem. I printed out the boo sign changing the setting to 2 sheets per page so that the poem would print out smaller then normal and again used my airbrush to add the color.

And finally here is my door hanger all finished and hanging on my door handle!

Both my cards today use images from the new Super Hero Hanna set. I was so excited when I saw that Hanna Stamps was releasing a Super Hero set this month as my younger daughter loves Super Heroes and it is also her birthday this month so what could be better hehe. Hopefully she won’t find any of these cards so I can use one of them for her birthday.

For my first card I went totally different to the norm and used the colors pink & brown for my card. I am not sure that these are colors that a real super hero would wear or even if my DD would approve of these colors … but I like it for a change. I used my computer to create the sentiment for this card.



My second card I created a scene. I stamped the phone booth onto my white card and then masked it to create the footpath and the sky. I then stamps Super Hero Hanna onto white card and cut that out and then added this to my card using foam tape.

A Balanced Circle!

Happy Monday everyone!

It is time to start the MFTeaser’s in readiness for the release of 6 new stamps sets which will be released by MFT Stamps on Wednesday 7th October.

Of course being Monday that also means it is time for another CCEE Stampers challenge. As it is also the start of a new month that means we also have a new challenge hostess for the month which is Tosh Leyendekker. Tosh is making us all “Shape Up” this month and to start the month off challenged us to create a round card.

My circle was created on the cricut machine and I just had to use the new MFT Stamps “A Balanced Holiday” set …. I just love this set. Also included in the set are a number of sentiments and some fun smaller stamps for ornaments and parcels which you could also add to your tree. For this card today I didn’t use the extras but instead decorated my tree with various colors of Swarovski Crystals. I wish you could see the sparkle of this card in real life.

WCMD – Hanna Stamps!

I have one more card to share with you today before World Card Making Day draws to a close. I hope you have been able to play along with some of the challenges that have been out there today.

WCMD – MFT Challenge!

MFT Stamps is sponsoring a challenge on Splitcoast Stampers as part of this years World Card Making Day Celebration! The challenge is to use the standard MFT colors (Pink & Black), the twist is to add some BLING to your project!
I created this card for the challenge using the new “On The Pier” stamp set. This was originally part of the MFT Stamps July Kit of the Month but on the 7th October you will be able to purchase the stamp set on its own if you don’t already have it. WCMD - Paper Pretties Challenge!

Today is World Card Making Day! Well actually for me it was yesterday as it is Sunday already where I live, but as the challenges I did for this event is taking place now I decided to have an extra long Saturday!

My card today is for one of the Paper Pretties World Card Making Day challenges. We'll be posting 3 challenges for you on the Paper Clip. 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 1 in the evening. You can pick 1 to do (or all 3 if you like). On the 5th at 11:00 pm we'll draw a winner from the entry's in the Paper Pretties Challenge Gallery (please use keyword WCMD when you upload your card) to receive a Season of Joy stamp set - one of our new releases. That means you'll have all weekend to work on your challenge card. You can use any products you like the but main image must be one from Paper Pretties. I used Jackie Rakoski’s challenge for my card which is to make a card based on your favorite season. Well for me I would have to say my favorite season is Summer! Ok so why did I make a Christmas card for this challenge, well because for me Christmas is in Summer. I used one of Paper Pretties new stamp sets “Mistletoe Kisses” which was released on the 1st October …. I know I say it a lot but isn’t this image adorable!!! I love it!

True Friendship!

Hi everyone

It’s time for another challenge over on the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge blog. The response to our challenges have been amazing thank you everyone who has participated in our challenges each week.

As it is a new month, it means we also have a new challenge hostess which is Vicki Griffiths. Vicki challenged us this week to get “Sew Happy”, we could using machine stitching, hand or faux stitching.

I used Our Craft Lounge’s “Mice Friends” to create my card for this challenge, I just love the little mouse in the flower. I also used this week’s sketch from Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch Challenge MTSC41. I used my machine to add stitching to 3 panels of my card.

Top Secret!

Hi everyone

It’s no secret that  Hanna Stamps will be releasing new stamps this coming Monday 5th October after the release party over on the Hanna Stamps Member Forum of SCS.

My cards today use the new Detective Hanna set … this is such a fun set to use. I love creating scenes so I enjoyed creating this one. First I stamped Hanna and the dog which were then masked so I could stamp the floor. While the masks were still in place I used my copic airbrush system to color the floor and wall. I then stamped the footprints across the floor.

I created the sentiment for this card both the inside and out using my computer. I think you can have fun with the different sentiments you could create to go with this stamp set.



Here is the inside of my card. Probably not the greatest sentiment but all I could think of when I was creating this card. I used the labels 7 nestabilities to create the layers for this.



For my second card I stamped the question mark image all over the background of my card. Again I computer generated the sentiment … I figure Hanna could be searching for clues about how old the person is who will get this card hehe. I also added the footprints to two strips of card that I added to my card.

A Hanna Sketch Challenge!

Friday’s also mean challenge time over on the Hanna Stamps Member Forum and this week’s challenge is hosted by Silke Kittmann. Silke gave us a sketch to use to create our cards this week … yahhhhhhh I love doing sketch challenges as most of you know.
I used the rice bowl from the new Geisha Hanna set which will be one of the new stamps that will be released on Tuesday. I love oriental themed stamps although I don’t do as much with them as I would like, and I love this set … I will have more to share with you with this set later.
Now talking of challenges, did you know that Hanna Stamps has changed the way we are doing challenges for releases. Autumn Wishes!

Hi Everyone!

It is time for another challenge over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Paper Craft Planet Group. This week the challenge is hosted by Michelle Oatman. You have two weeks from today to participate in this challenge and you also have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card is selected randomly from all the entries received.

So what’s the challenge … It’s another color challenge, this time using fall colors. A perfect challenge for this time of the year! That is one thing I miss about living where I do here in Australia … in the state I live which is Queensland we don’t experience the beautiful colors that are associated with Autumn or Fall whichever you prefer to say. This happens in the southern states just not here, can’t complain too much cause we also don’t get the cold the other states do .. can’t have everything I guess.

For my card today I used the new Celebrating Fall Bugs, I can never have too many Alota bugs stamps … I love them so much! After stamping the image onto my card, I then masked it and used my copic airbrush system to create the grass and sky areas.
