Dotsy

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is Lois' sister’s birthday. So in her honour we are to use something on our card that begins with each letter in her name, which is DOTSY.

I started creating this card by using the colors that go with "O" and "Y" which is Olive, Orange and Yellow. Once I have figured that part out, the card progressed from there.

Here is what I used for each of the letters:
D - Dog and Dies
O - Olive; Orange; Owl
T - Trees; Thought Bubble
S - Slimline Card; Sentiment; Sign; Squirrels; Stamps
Y - Yellow

To create my card I used Distress Oxide inks in yellows and oranges to create the sky background.

For the slimline card I used Slimline dies from Lawn Fawn including Large Slimline with Sliders; Slimline Grassy Hillside Borders.  The trees in the background are Lawn Fawn's Lift The Flap Trees die set. Inside the peek a boo openings I added an Owl and two squirrels.

To decorate my card I used images from MFT Stamps Adorable Adventures stamp set.  I added the sign to the lower right hand corner of the card. The dog is from another MFT Stamps stamp set.

I added the thought bubble to the girl using the Lawn Fawn Thought Bubble Reveal Wheel Add-on die set.

For the inside of my card, I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Hooray Pop-up die set and the Oliver's ABC to add the colored letters to the pop-up.

I added a grass border using Lawn Fawn's Slimline Grassy Hillside Borders die set to the bottom edge and the fold on either side of the pop-up.

I used more of the images that I used on the front of the card.

Along the top edge of my card I added a cloud border using Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Slimline Borders die set.

Hog Wild Father's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a Father's Day themed Mini Slimline card to share with you today using stamps, dies and stencils from Divinity Designs.

I  know Father's Day was last month in the USA and other parts of the Northern Hemisphere, but where I live in Australia it isn't until September. As I have to make a number of cards for Father's Day this card was a perfect opportunity to add another to my stash.

To create the Mini Slimline portion of the card, I used Mini Slimline  dies from Divinity Designs which include ... Mini Slimline Card Base; Mini Slimline Layering Rectangles and Mini Slimline Rectangles.

To create the stencilled background which on this card is the sky, I die cut a piece of light blue cardstock using the largest rectangle from the Mini Slimline Layering Rectangles die set and then used the new Slimline Netting Mixed Media Stencil and the new blending brushes from Divinity Designs to blend various blue inks  through the stencil.

Along the bottom of this panel I added some grass using the Grass Hill die set. The Fence was created using the Farm Fence die.

I added the pickup truck to the lower right hand side of the card, using the Pickup Truck die set.

I used the pig from the Hog Wild Stamp/Die Duos set to add the pig to the left side of my card and the sentiment.

I used one of the sentiment strips from the Sentiment Strip with Layers die set to die cut the sentiment.

For the inside of the card I used the Mini Slimline Layering Rectangles and Mini Slimline Rectangles die set to add the layers. I created another stencilled panel to add to the bottom of the card using the Slimline Netting Mixed Media Stencil.

I added two of the sentiments included in the stamp set as well as another of the pig images.

I created a coordinating envelope for my card using the new Mini Slimline Envelope die set.

I added stencilling to the top flap to coordinate with the front and inside of my card.

I added another pig image and sentiment to the lower left hand corner of my card.

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - July 2021

Welcome to our July Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

Our challenge theme this month is ... "TAG BOOKS" - make a card featuring the Tag Book or Circle Tag Book. This includes switching out the pop-up inside for Pivot Panels or anything else, OR using the Tag Book pop-up mechanisms in a card.

For my card today I decided to pull out the Tag Book Pop-up die set and used a picnic theme to decorate it.

Here is a close up of the left side of my Tag Book. For the grass along the bottom edge of each tag/square I used the grass border from the Nature Edges die set.

The picnic basket, ants and bread is from the Picnic Elements die set. The apples on the square panel is from the Tree  Fruit Die set.

On the inner page of the main tag I added a tree using the Mini Trees die set.

For the right side of the tag book I added the watermelons which is from Sweet Treat Charms die set. All the images on the tag are all from the Picnic Elements die set.

The sentiment which is stamped on three of the panels is from Lawn Fawn's Crazy Antics stamp set.

For the front of the tag book I used the grass and picnic items from the Picnic Elements die set.

I added the "Hello" sentiment which is from Word Set 6 - Summer die set.

Here is a back view of my tag book, I just decorated it with the designer paper I used on the front of the tag book. I added ribbon and twine for the holes in the tag book.

Have A Happy Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

When it comes to paper dolls, I don't think I will ever grow up ... I love them! When I discovered Hero Arts had released some paper doll sets earlier on in the year, I had to add a few of the die sets to my stash! I have been too busy playing with other stuff, but I finally found some time to pull some of the dies out to create this Mini Slimline card.

For the Mini Slimline card I used Waffle Flower Craft's Mini Slimline Layers die set to create the layers of my card. When I was looking for some patterned paper for the girls dress, I discovered the paper for the background too.

To create my paper dolls I used Hero Arts Hero Lifestyle Forms and Hero Lifestyle Picnic Day. I die cut the various pieces from a mixture of plain cardstock and patterned paper and assembled the dolls with them.

I added the "Have A Happy Day" sentiment which is a sentiment included in a Lawn Fawn stamp set.

I kept the inside of the card fairly simple, using the Mini Slimline dies I used on the front of the card.

For the sentiment I used a stamp and die using Honey Bee Stamps Enjoy Stamp set and coordinating die set.

Red and Gold Foiled Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Gold Foiled Slimline card I created recently.

For the background of my card I used Spellbinders Slimline Confetti Background Glimmer Hot Foil Stamp set with gold foil onto red cardstock. I foiled one end of my red cardstock panel with the hot foil plate and then the other end. I die cut the panel into a Slimline panel using a stitched slimline die from Picket Fence Studios.

I layered the red panel onto a gold scalloped rectangle panel which was die cut using another Slimline die set from Picket Fence Studios. This was then layered onto a top folding white slimline card base.

I used the smaller die included in Altenew's Slim Deco Cover Plate die set, which I die cut from Gold Mirror Cardstock.

The sentiment is gold foiled using Spellbinders More Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Stamps set.

I embellished the frame using an older dragonfly die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. The dragonflies are glittered using Elizabeth Craft Designs Desert Gold Silk Microfine Glitter.

For the inside of the card, I gold foiled a thin strip of cardstock to use along the bottom edge of my card. I used the Scalloped Slimline die from Picket Fence Studios that I used on the front of the card along the top edge of the red panel.

I used the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Spellbinders Essential Glimmer Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Stamp set to gold foil a piece of white cardstock. I die cut the sentiment using the sentiment die from Spellbinders Slimline Classic die set.

Life's a Picnic

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is ME!

Apparently July is Picnic Month and the 4th of July is Barbecue Day, so for our challenge this week, create a card incorporating either a picnic or barbecue theme.

For the challenge today I created a Slimline card (big surprise I know LOL!). To create the slimline portion of the card I used Lawn Fawn's Large Slimline with Sliders & Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders die sets.

To decorate my card I used three Lawn Fawn stamp sets ... Crazy Antics; S'more the Merrier and Tree Before & Afters stamp sets.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Pop-up die set to pop up the owl and the fox.

Along the bottom edge of the card I added grass using Lawn Fawn's Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders die set.

The large sentiment is Lawn Fawn's Giant Happy Birthday To You die set which I die cut from both red and white cardstock and then layered the two together offsetting slightly.

I added the picnic basket to the back of the card, I didn't pop this up.

Along the top edge of the card I added a cloud border using Honey Bee Stamps Slimline Horizon Borders die set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Divinity Designs - July 2021 Release

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing two cards I created using new dies from Divinity Designs July 2021 Release. This month Divinity Designs are releasing three new Mini Slimline Dies (two Mini Slimline Background dies & a Mini Slimline Envelope die), three Slimline stencils, plus blending brushes, blending brush cleaning tool and Blending Brush Holder.

For more inspiration using products from the new release visit the Divinity Designs blog.

As you can see by the photo above I have created a Mini Slimline Card with matching envelope using the new Mini Slimline Sunburst Background and Mini Slimline Envelope dies which were released today.

My Mini Slimline card is a shaker card, to decorate my card I used stamps from Party Time Stamp/Die Duos set. I used paper from the Geometric Slimline Paper Pad for the inside of the shaker.

To create the Mini Slimline card I used the Mini Slimline Card Base and Mini Slimline Rectangles die sets.

For the inside of my card I used more papers  from the Geometric Slimline Paper Pad and two sentiments from the Party Time Stamp/Die Duos.

I used the Mini Slimline Envelope die to make my coordinating envelope. I die cut the envelope using white paper and also a scrap of the Geometric Slimline Paper Pad. I added patterned paper to the flap of the envelope and stamped the rabbits and sentiment to the lower left side of the envelope.

For my second card I have again made a Mini Slimline Card with a coordinating envelope.

For this card I used the new Mini Slimline Stacking Stars Background die along with the Mini Slimline Card Base and Mini Slimline Rectangles die sets.

To decorate my card I used the flower and sentiment from Magnolia Stamp/Die Duos set included in the April 2021 Blessings Box kit..

For the inside of the card I added another of the magnolia flower stamps and another of the sentiments.

I created another envelope using the Mini Slimline Envelope die set. I added a dark pink envelope flap and a flower to the left side of the envelope.

Sweetest Birthday Ever

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month, it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Lois Bak.

According to that wacky holiday chart, July is National Ice Cream Month and July 1st is Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day. My challenge to you is to include some ice cream on your card.

Who doesn't love ice cream! For my card today I pulled out Colorado Craft Company's Sweetest Birthday Cone stamp set. The ice cream is around 7 inches high, so this is perfect to use with a Slimline card.

I wanted a colorful background, so I used Pinkfresh Studio's Slimline Layered Starburst Stencil. This stencil set consists of three stencils to create a starburst effect. I created a rainbow pattern using ink pads from Catherine Pooler Designs, you can see the colors I used in the supply list below.

I used a Slimline Stitched Rectangle die from Picket Fence Studios' Slimline Nested Rectangles die set.

The sentiment above the ice cream is also from the Sweetest Birthday Cone stamp set. I trimmed the stem of the cherry slightly, so that it wouldn't cover the sentiment.

I created a second starburst stencil background using the same colors as I used on the front of the card. I trimmed the background panel into two strips that slightly smaller than 1 1/2 inches wide to adhered to both edges of the card.

I created a pop-up card using Katherine Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

The top sentiment is from Spellbinders Essential Sentiments stamp set.

The smaller ice creams and second sentiment are both from Sunny Studio Stamps Two Scoops stamp set.
