Owl Always Be Your Friend!

Good morning to you all. I always look forward to Monday's because it means it is time for another challenge with my CCEE friends. Besides getting to stamp my own project for the challenge I also get to see what the rest of the team came up with.

Our challenge today was to use a restaurant coaster on our project along with some mesh or mulberry paper (products that our challenge hostess Charlene Merrick hadn't seen used much lately).

All my coasters that I have here are blank ones so I decided to use them to make a meander book. You can see a tutorial written by Beate Johns over in the SCS Resource section, click here to view it.

I used the coasters for the covers of this book. I cut my mesh tape and attached it to the right side of the book underneath my owl image.



Here are a couple of photos of the inside of my book .... a few of my pages have pockets so that I can have additional tags inside.

Turn Your Radio On And Listen To The Music!

Turn your radio on and listen to the music ........... I have that song singing in my head now LOL!

This card is for this week's Beate's weekend sketch challenge .... and I am again using some of my neglected stamps today ... this time it is a Rubber Romance stamp. The music you see coming up from the radio is actually part of a Stamp It stamp I own that I masked before inking so I would only get the one line of it .... it seemed just right to accompany this Rubber Romance stamp don't you think!

The sentiment is one I created using my computer ... not sure if that is a radio or just a CD player but it is a radio for this card anyway ... and when I was trying to find a suitable sentiment that song came in my head which I thought would make a perfect sentiment for my card.

Donkey Ears!!!!

Happy Saturday everyone ..... my card today uses one of the new donkey images from alota Rubber Stamps ... isn't it the cutest!!!!!!!!!! This comes as an unmounted plate with a number of different donkey images and some fantastic donkey sentiments. Don't you love this one ...there are a few add on sentiments that can be put inside the card to match this one.

The layout for my card is Jen's of Iheart2stamp's SFYTT sketch that she posted to her blog last week.

I used the floral screen cuttlebug embossing folder to create the texture to the pink stripe behind the donkey image. I also used the Martha Stewart lace doily punch to create the lace border along the bottom edge of this strip.

This card is for Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge that she does every week, I think I have become addicted! This week I decided to use one of my High Hopes stamps which I got a few month ago and then forgot all about cause I was busy with other stuff ... bad bad I know!!!!!!! Anyway to make it fit into the cupcake theme I decided to have the clown juggle cupcakes instead of balls hehe. I would think juggling cupcakes could get pretty messy don't you!

Yummy Yummy Cupcake with a Cherry On Top!

Hi everyone ... first up some news! I have been asked to join "The Cutting Cafe" design team.

This is a store run by Regina Easter and she sells cutting designs and downloadable stamps .... here is the info that I cut and pasted from her web site to explain it a little more:

All of these cutting designs come in the format of wpc or pdf...With WPC you can cut the files out using your cutting machine like the Pazzles Inspiration machine or any other machine that accepts WPC... With PDF you can print and cut the cuts using your home printer. Think of the PDF as being a template that you can use over and over again.... The Downloadable stamps are just that, Stamp images that I have designed that are downloaded to you through email in the form of a PDF. ALL FILES including WPC'S and PDF'S will be emailed to you within 24 hours after payment.

Onto my card .... the cupcake here is one of the downloadable stamps available from The Cutting Cafe. It comes as a set of 4 cupcakes with sentiments which will come as a pdf file. I printed out the cupcake image and used this to create my card.

The Try a New Technique challenge over on SCS this week was to create a Decorative Medallion using the circle nestabilities and the EK Success Corner Rounders .... I thought these looked like a lot of fun so I had to try it out myself .... you can find a tutorial on how to create these here.


Here is a close up of the decorative medallion ... I attached yellow pearls around the edge of the medallion. I also raised the red portion up using foam tape.

OK ... now onto a little trick that you might find useful if you decide to purchase these downloadable stamps ...

The image on the right on the photo above is the actual size the cupcake is when you print it out. However I wanted my cupcake to be a little smaller .... so this is what I did:

1. Open the pdf file

2. Click on the print button on the top left side and the print menu will come up.

3. Look half way down the print menu and you will find " Page Scaling" .... click on the drop down arrow and select " Multiple Pages per sheet"

4. This should now give you 2 pages per sheet .... of course it will only print one page as the is only a one page document ... Your image will now be half the size of the original image.

5. If you wish to make the image even smaller ... select the option underneath "Page Scaling" which is " Pages per sheet" ... it will depend which number you select how big your image will be.

The cupcake on the left of the photo above was printed using the method I have just explained and is what I used to create my card.

I hate doing ironing .... but it seems Riley doesn't mind doing it or does he???? Whatever your thoughts about ironing .... you have to agree this image is adorable right!! This is another of the new stamps to be released in just a few hours by Hanna Stamps.

I used the sketch from one of today's release party challenges which was a sketch challenge. When I was looking through my "Things Riley Would Do" sentiment sets I found this one and thought it was perfect with this stamp!

I'll Be Me!

Here is another of the new sets to be released by Hanna Stamps this Friday 7th November ... this is one called "Tshirt Hanna" ... it features Hanna wearing a plain tshirt and a variety of sentiments that can be stamped on the tshirt Hanna is wearing ... what fun!!!

I stamped the top portion of the Hanna image onto my white card and also stamped it again on the designer paper I used for this card ... I cut out the tshirt from the designer paper and glued it over the tshirt on the white card. I used the argyle cuttlebug embossing folder to create texture to my green base panel.

Chin Up!

I am back again .... this time with my card for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. I decided to use this cute snowman set called "Chin Up" which is by Firecracker Designs.

My pink layers behind the snowman were embossed using cuttlebug embossing folders .... I used the snow dots to the pink pirouette layer and the snowflake folder on the pretty in pink layer.

I stamped the sentiment using pink ink and then punched it out using a circle punch and then layered it to a pink snowflake. I added glitter to the centres of the snowflakes.

B is for Baby!

Hi I am back again today with another Hanna Stamps sneak peek for you today. This is another of the new sets to be released by Hanna Stamps this Friday 7th November. This set is a cute baby set which is called "B is for Baby".

I used the sketch from SCS from a couple of weeks ago to create my card. I stamped the images twice onto white card .... the second one I cut out all the individual images and attached them over the ones on the base panel using foam tape. The sentiment is stamped onto one of the ribbon label dies by Spellbinders. The swiss dots cuttlebug die was used to create texture to the bottom panel of this card. I added 3 rows of paper piercing to the bottom right hand side of my image panel.

It is Pretties Tuesday and this week I wanted to share with you something I created using some of the new stamp sets that were released on 1st November.

Did you know there were 4 Nativity sets released this week .... for my card here I used 3 of these sets ...
Nativity for Baby Jesus, Mary & Joseph
Worship Him for the Star
Adore Him for the Cow, Donkey, Lamb & the Sentiment I used for my card.

My card is a stair step card ..... I added the large oval piece to the back of my card so that I could include the star shining over the stable where Baby Jesus lay sleeping.

Here is another view of my card so that you can see why it is called a "Stair Step card", these are very easy to make and lots of fun too.

For those of you who would like the measurements for this the card is cut to 10.5 inches x 5 inches. I then used my scorepal to score my card at 1.25" - 2.5" - 4.25", 6" and at 8.25"

Wanna Nibble!

I have another MFTeaser for you all today ... this one uses the new Cupcake Flopsey which will be released by MFT Stamps this Wednesday 5th November. I love this stamp set!!!!!!! The set contains this cute Flopsey holding this giant cupcake (giant for Flopsey anyway hehe) and number of different cupcake related sentiments .... if you love cupcakes it is a must have believe me!!

Most of you know that I do Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge almost every week ... well I have been busting since I first saw this stamp set about a month ago to be able to use it for this challenge and I was hoping hoping hoping that this week's challenge would suit this image. Well I am happy to report that it did .... so my card today is also for Taylor's TECC40.

Far Out!

Another day and another Hanna Stamps sneak peek to share with you all. Hanna Stamps will be releasing 4 stamp sets and 2 Riley stamps this Friday 7th November. This set is called Hippie Chick .... and is such a fun set. This set also brought back many memories from years ago when I was much younger .... no I was never a hippie but I do remember having a similar hair style once upon a time and also the flared jeans etc.

The lava lamp was stamped randomly over the white card and then colored. The regal rose panel at the bottom of my card was embossed using the traffic jam cuttlebug embossing folder ... such a good embossing folder for this set.

Chocolate Anyone!!

Chocolate anyone!!!! .... who can resist chocolate .... definitely not me hehe. My card today uses one of the new Riley stamps which will be released this coming Friday 7th November by Hanna Stamps. Isn't Riley irresistible!

I used this week's Hanna Stamps challenge from the Hanna Stamps member forums to create my card ... the challenge was posted on Friday but I had to wait until today to post my card. We had to use paper piecing on our image .... I paper pieced the couch that Riley is lying on. I also added paper piercing to the top corners of this panel.

We also had to use designer paper to the lower section of my card. We were also supposed to use designer paper where my brown ribbon is ... however I preferred to use the ribbon on my card.

The sentiment used here is from the "Things Riley Would Say" sentiment set. The sentiment in the set actually says "Chocolate Moose Anyone" which didn't really work for my card, so I cut out the "Moose" in the sentiment and made it "Chocolate Anyone". My sentiment isn't ruined I will be able to place the sentiment back on a clear block to stamp it in the correct way if I wanted to. I love doing this with clear stamps.

Cupcake Kind of Day!

Hi everyone ... happy Monday to you all! This is the first of many cards I will be sharing with you this week.

As it is Monday it is time for another of our CCEE challenges .... this week also begins a new month so this means we also have a new challenge hostess. This month it is Charlene Merrick's turn to issue the challenge and she has come up with some fun ones as you will see as the month progresses.

The first challenge Charlene issued is one of my favorites .... yes you guessed it, it is a sketch challenge. Charlene instructed us to use one of her favorite sketch designs from SCS, which was SC75 ... way back from 2006. However as expected there was a twist ... we had to change the square shape at the bottom of the card to another shape. We also had to include eyelets on our cards.

I changed the square into an oval shape using my oval nestabilities .... the stamps used here are one of the new stamps by MFT Stamps which will be released this Wednesday 5th November. This set used here is called "A Cupcake Kind of Day" .... it has two large cupcakes and a number of sentiments in the set.

I used the required eyelets to my sentiment oval and added brads to the top left of my card.

Today's the day for Paper Pretties "Stampin' in your Jammies party" The party starts at 7pm CST and there will be a challenge every hour up until 10pm ... why don't you come and join in the fun.

My card today is for the first challenge for the day ... we were to create a "Gatefold Card" I decided to use the new Paper Pretties December Stamp of the Month " Sending My Love" isn't Sophie just adorable ... I especially love how she has her tongue hanging out while she is writing on her card.

I have included a number of photos of my card ... the top one shows the card closed by the photo turn which you can see at the bottom right hand sided of the main image.

Here is my card with the photo turn released so the card is partially open.

And finally here it is fully open ... I stamped the scribble heart by Stampendous in the corner of my card to add some interest to the inside of the card.

Owly Season's Greetings!

Hi guys and welcome to a brand new month ... wow November already ... you know what that means right .... not all that long till Christmas, yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My card today is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge .... now you all know I am an owl lover so of course I had to buy this stamp a while back and thought it was about time I actually used it LOL! I just love it!!!!!!!!!! I love Beate's sketch too of course.

I used my circle nestabilities to create my circle layers ... the top and bottom of the green card have been punched using the Martha Stewart Lace Doily Punch. I added red brads along the top and bottom edge of the designer paper.
