Not A Year Older

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

It's the third Saturday of the month, which means it's time for a sketch challenge.

As you can see the sketch this time is a Slimline sketch. I used Slimline dies from Picket Fence Studios to create the layers for my card.

For the background I die cut a slimline rectangle from white cardstock. I then blended on inks in various shades of blue to add color to the panel. I then embossed the panel using Whimsy Stamps Waves Embossing Folder.

For the strips down the left side of the card I used a die from Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Strips.

The images and sentiment are all from MFT Stamps Festive Old Friends Stamp set.

For the inside of the card I added layers using the Picket Fence Studios Slimline die set.

The sentiment is from Concord & 9th's Perfect Pairings Birthday die set. I die cut the sentiment from blue cardstock and then colored the bottom of each letter using copic markers.

I added another of the men & a couple of balloons from the MFT Stamp set that I used on the front of the card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Divinity Designs - June Release

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing to projects I created using stamps and dies from Divinity Designs.

I have been waiting anxiously for my June release parcel to make it's way down to me here in Australia, it had been stuck in Chicago for around 6 weeks. It finally started moving again and after a detour to Japan it finally arrived at my house yesterday, so I quickly got a few of the dies out to have a play.

For my first project I created this fun satchel using the new Stitched Satchel die set. This is ideal to use as a gift bag to hold all sorts of fun things when you want to give someone a present.

I used one of the papers from Divinity Designs Floral Favorites Slimline Paper Pad, the papers in the collection are so beautiful and I have been wanting to use it after seeing the creations of the other Design Team members who have been using it.

To decorate the satchel, I used the new Floral Layering Combo 2 die set to add the flower to the flap of the satchel along with the Fancy Flourish die set.

I also used the Mini Stitched Shaker Charms die set to add the heart to the right hand side of the satchel.

The Stitched Satchel die set also includes dies to allow you to add a pocket to the back of the satchel. There are three dies ... two rectangle dies and the zipper die. This is an optional extra to add to your satchel.

As you can see the top of the pocket is open to allow you to add a gift card, money or whatever you wish.

Next up I created a coordinating Slimline card, so I had a set to use as a gift.

To create my slimline card I used Divinity Designs Slimline Card Base along with the Slimline Pierced Rectangles and Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles die sets. The Slimline Pierced die sets were released in April.

I used the same paper from the Floral Favorites Slimline Paper pad for the background panel of my card.

To decorate the card I again used the Flowering Layering Combo 2 and Fancy Flourish die sets.

The sentiment is from the Sweet Friend stamp set which was part of the April Blessings Box. I used theSlimline Pierced Rectangles and Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles die sets to layer my sentiment.

For the inside of my card I used both the Slimline Pierced Rectangles and Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles die sets for the rectangle panels and added two more sentiments from the Sweet Friends stamp set.

I also added a piece of the patterned paper that I used on the front of the card, die cutting it using the Slimline Pierced Layering Rectangles die set.

Plant a Garden

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Kelly Santi, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

June is Great Outdoors Month. Create a card/project showcasing something fun outdoors - camping, hiking, biking, picnics, etc.

I just received an order from Hello Bluebird,  so my great outdoors this week is all about gardening!

As you can see I created a Slimline card using Hello Bluebird's Summer Woods Scene die, I already had the winter version of this die so it is good to have the summer version now.

I used the new Bloom and Grow stamp set to decorate my card which is also from Hello Bluebird.

I used Distress Oxide inks to add color to each of the difficult pieces from the slimline die..

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using the pop-up die set from Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Pop-up die set.

Along the bottom edge of the card I used the grass border die from Karen Burniston's Long Nature Edges die set. The clouds along the top of the card are from Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Slimline Borders die set.

For the pop-up panel, I used a sentiment stamp from Stampendous Stamps called Friends Add Color. I stamped this onto white cardstock and then used MFT Stamps Stitched Dome Frames Die-namics to create my pop-up panel.

I added some more of the stamps from the Bloom and Grow Stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Birthday Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

Recently while looking for a stamp to use on another card, I came across this Julie Nutting Paper Doll stamp that I have had in my stash for years. It is the perfect size for a Slimline card, so I pulled it out to make a card with it. This stamp has long been discontinued, but was called Aidan when it was available.

I used Slimline dies from Picket Fence Studios to create the various layers for my card.

To create my background I die cut a white rectangle panel and then used a brick stencil from MFT Stamps to create my brick background using three different brown Distress Oxide inks. I then used various stamps and sentiment stamps to create a graffiti look to the background.

I stamped Aidan onto white cardstock, paper piecing the shirt. This stamp comes without a face, so I dug into my stash to find a stamp set of faces from Peachy Keen stamps and stamped that on the face.

For the inside of my card, I again die cut rectangle panels using the Picket Fence Studios Slimline die set for all the layers.

For the sentiment I used the birthday sentiment included in Concord & 9th's Perfect Pairings Birthday die set. I die cut the sentiment from blue cardstock and then used various blue Copic Markers to create an ombre effect.

Hootiful Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Slimline Scenescape Card I created using dies from Mama Elephant.

For this card I pulled out the Slim Scenescape Rainbow Add-On die set to create the majority of this card ... the curved back and the inner clouds/leaves. For the front and sides I used dies from the Slim Scenescape Builder die set.

I used Distress Oxide inks to color the curved background and the layering panels on the front and sides to resemble a night sky. I then splattered white paint and liquid stardust over the panels to help with the effect.

For the cloud panels in the centre of the card, I coloured these green to make them resemble the leaves/branches of a tree.

I used two owl stamp sets from Uniquely Creative to decorate the card ... Owl Family and Little Hoot Stamp sets. Most of the owls I adhered directly to the "green leaves" except for two which I adhered using acetate stripes. I also added some tiny stars the same way.

I added the moon, clouds and more stars to the background panel.

The sentiment on the front panel is from Heffy Doodles Hootiful Day stamp set.

I die cut another half circle shape to adhere behind the back panel. For this one I white embossed the
You're Owlsome" and added another of the owls from the Owl Family stamp set.

I also die cut some grass using Mama Elephant's Slim Window Dressing die set.

Thinking of You Mini Slim

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have three Get Well themed Mini Slimline cards to share with you all today.

For my card today I used Taylored Expressions Mini Slim Diagonal Stripes Cutting Plate to die cut a panel from black cardstock and also from white cardstock. I layered the black frame from the die cut onto a side folding Mini Slimline Card that measures 3.5 inches x 6 inches. I then colored the white diagonal stripes in rainbow colors using inks from Catherine Pooler Designs.

For the sentiment I used the Thinking of You die from Concord & 9th's Thinking of You Perfect Pairings die set. I die cut this twice from white cardstock and once from either gold or silver mirror cardstock and layered three together. I adhered the sentiment to the centre of the card.

To finish off the front of the card, I added flowers and leaves using dies from Karen Burniston. The flower is from the Flip Frame Pop-up die set and the leaves from the Flower Pot Pop-up die set.

For the inside of my card I die cut the Giant Sending Big Hugs die from red cardstock and adhered to the centre of the card. I then white embossed the "Get Well" from Picket Fence Studios Ways to Say Get Well Stamp set onto black cardstock and then cut around the sentiment before adhering to the die cut sentiment.

May Your Day Be Like A Fairytale

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Slimline Pop-up card with you all.

I have been playing recently with some of the amazing papers from Whimsy Stamps. For my card today I decided to use one of the papers from the Enchanted Kingdom Slimline Paper Pad.

To decorate my background I used stamps from MFT Stamps Magical Friends and Magical Dragons stamp sets.

I used an older fairy tale sentiment from CC Designs which I added to a speech bubble from Whimsy Stamps Comic Speech Bubbles die set.

For the inside of my card I used Pinkfresh Studio's Cloud Border Stencil to add clouds to the background of a teal cardstock which I sponged using white ink.

Along the bottom of the card I added two rows of clouds using the cloud border from Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Borders die set. I added a birthday sentiment to the bottom right hand corner of the card.

I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to add the pop-up mechanism to the top of the card. I added some clouds and the flying dragon to the pop-up.

Happy Cupcake Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Apparently Monday 14th June is Cupcake Day, so for our challenge this week we are adding cupcakes to our cards.

I have created a Slimline card using Trinity Stamps Room Builder die set. Ever since I received this die last year I have been wanting to create a kitchen scene using the Art Impressions Whisk It stamp set. I finally found the perfect opportunity to make it.

I die cut the main die from the Room Builder die set from white cardstock.  I then used a black marker to turn the floor boards from a wood floor to a checkerboard floor. I added patterned paper to the top portion of the card.

The fridge, oven, bench and many of the other accessories on this card are from Trinity Stamps Cottage Kitchen Stamp set. To fill in the kitchen scene with cupboards, I just used a strip of white cardstock and a sliver of black cardstock on the top and then added rectangles for the doors. I used the inner rectangles from the window die included in the Room Builder die set to add the doors.

I added the "Happy Cake Day" sentiment to the front of the island bench which is from Honey Bee Stamps You Bake Me Happy stamp set. I added the "cup" sentiment seeing this card is for Cupcake Day.

For this inside of the card I added the patterned paper I used on the front for the top and bottom edges. I used Whimsy Stamps Slimline Zig Zag Edger die set to create the zig zag border on both panels.

The cupcakes are from Karen Burniston's Cupcake Pop-up die set which I popped up using the larger of the angled pop up mechanisms from the Mini Pops Pop-up die set.

The pop up in the centre of the card is from the Explosion Pop-up die set. I added the birthday sentiment to the pop-up panel which is from Honey Bee Stamps Baked with Love stamp set.

Hello Friend

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a Mini Slimline Card to share with you today.

I recently purchased a couple more Missees Paper Doll stamp and die sets. For my card today I am using the new stamp set called Anna & Bella, the stamp set contains a body stamp and then various other stamps to allow you to create different faces, hair styles and clothing options. I stamped the body twice and then used the other stamps included in the set to create the two paper dolls on my card. I paper pieced the girls clothing using patterned paper.

I created a Mini Slimline Card using Waffle Flower Crafts Mini Slimline Layering die set. The patterned paper for the background is from Catherine Pooler Designs Little Black Dress Slimline Paper Pad.

I used sentiment stamps from Spellbinders to add the two sentiments at the bottom of the card.

For the inside of the card I used the Mini Slimline Layering die set again that I used on the front of my card. I added a strip of the patterned paper along the bottom of the card.

I added the birthday sentiment which is one of the stamps included in the Birthday Stamp set from The Stamping Village.

ConQUACKulations

Hi Crafty Friends,

Yesterday was Donald Duck Day, my husband’s favorite Disney character :)Please feature a duck(s) on your card/project

For my card today I pulled out an older stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs ...Darby. I created a Half Shutter Card using Divinity Designs Half Shutter Card with Layers die set.

As I wanted to use "duck" themed sentiments for this card, I computer generated all the sentiments.
