Hi everyone,

It time for another MFT Sketch challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum of SCS. This week it is my turn to supply the sketch.

This week I decided to use the Owl’s & Bluebells stamp set that was released earlier in the month by MFT Stamps … I just love this stamp set!!!!! You all know how much I love owls!

I went with ovals this time for the main image and then I also used the labels 4 nestabilies die for the rectangle panel behind the oval on the sketch … I embossed this panel using the script Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Pretties Wednesday – Simple Things!

 

Hi everyone,

I am back again tonight with my Pretties Wednesday challenge card. Two weeks ago Jodi challenge the Prettie Girls with a color challenge. The colors we had to use were Apricot Appeal, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point.

I got this Sizzix Movers & Shakers Note Card die for Mother’s Day so of course I had to play with it. I didn’t know at the time that there were two different sized options in these particular dies but I do think this note card size is quite cute so I will be making good use of it. Now I need to get the A2 version hehe.

After die cutting my card I then decorated it using my designer paper and punched border. I stamped the watering can from the Paper Pretties Simple Things set on white card that I added inside the card so that the watering can could be seen through the window.

It’s A Man’s World!

Hi everyone!
I have another Elzybells sneak peek to share with you today! Elzybells Art Stamps will be releasing new stamps this coming Thursday 21st May.

I wanted to use the Man’s World Multi stamp as a main image as well as a background which is what I have done here. You can see the background stamps on the bordering blue panel of the card. I also stamped it onto white card, sponged around the edges with bordering blue ink and then colored all the little images. I paired this with Mechanic Ted as there were a number of words in the Man’s World Multi stamp which I thought worked with this image.

Survival and Hopping Around The Block!

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to my blog. It time to join the MFT Stamps Design Team for another "Hop Around the Block"

Now if you didn't hop onto my blog from Joanne's blog then you might want to hop back to Kim's (MFT Lady) blog so that you can start at the beginning of the hop. You don't want to miss anything and you certainly will if you don't hop there cause you just reached the end of the hop hehe!

Today the MFT Design team are celebrating two things ... firstly it is the 20th which means Celebrate MFT Day and it is also the release day for two new stamp sets Time for the Bubbly Label, Teacher Label (mini sets that retail for $9 each). MFT is also releasing new Teacher Digi Papers, Shimmer Brads, Eclipse Tape and the Jars all the design team have used for this blog hop aren't they fun!

We'll change the way you gift!

Ok so what does survival have to do with a blog hop you ask … well let me explain.

Earlier in the month Kim sent all the MFT Stamps design team a jar which we were instructed to fill and use for today blog hop. I had no idea what I was going to do until I received my stamp sets that are to be released today. At first I was going to use the Time For Bubbly Label set but as I thought about it more I decided to use the Teacher Teacher Label Set and make a Teacher’s Survival Kit.

Now you see when my daughter graduated as a teacher a few years back I made her a Teacher’s Survival Kit and she loved it. So much so that she ended up making a few simpler versions and giving them as gifts for the teachers that she had done her in service with and they commented they were the best gifts they had ever been given. I think they planned on making more themselves. I thought this would be a fun idea for kids to give to there Teachers too!

I used my computer to print out all the different explanations of what each items was supposed to represent, I included 10 items in my survival kit I created but you can added more or less depending on what you wish to do.

After printed out each explanation I used my circle nestabilities and bind it all to create my booklet which I then attached to the top of my jar.

I also added ribbon around my lid, this is just some red grosgrain ribbon I had here and I stamps “Teachers Rule” which is included in the set on my ribbon.

I wanted to add a band around the middle of my jar too and as you can see by the pic above I also stamped the ruler around the red card. And finally attached my ribbon.

Here is a pic of what I included in my jar so you can see it a little better. I will also include the explanation for each piece under here as I know some of you will be asking. Many of the items used here can be found at home, so my gift was very inexpensive ... mostly the cost of the jar, which sell for 4 for $12. You can adapt this to suit just how much you want to spend. If you google "Teacher Survival Kit" you will be able to find more ideas that you can use for this if some of the items I have used doesn't suit.

Teacher Survival Kit

• Candle – for when you are up late grading papers
• Eraser – To remind you everyone makes mistakes and they can be erased
• Smiley – Try hard to wear a happy face
• Present – Remember that your students are a gift. Treasure them
• Bandaid – To remind you to heal hurt feelings, yours or someone else’s
• Crayon – To color your day bright and cheerful
• Ace of Hearts – For the heartfelt way you deal with tasks each day
• Marbles – To replace the ones you’ve lost
• Puzzle Piece – Without you the class wouldn’t be complete
• Rubberband – To remind you to be flexible

Recently Paper Pretties held it’s monthly Stampin’ in Your Jammies party over on the Paper Pretties Forum to celebrate the release of the new stamps for May. One of the challenges during the party was a sketch challenge. This is the card I made for this challenge.

I used one of the new stamps that were released at the party. These stamps are from the new “Home Sweet Home” set that were designed by our very own Prrettie Girl Danielle Lounds. I thought I would make a card that would be suitable to give to someone who has just moved or bought a new house.

You’re the Greatest!

It is day 2 for the sneak peeks of the new stamps to be released by Elzybells Art Stamps  this coming Thursday 21st May.

This time round I used Karate Ted …. I am just loving these new bears! Of course I decided to make him a black belt … might as well go all the way ha hehe!

The sentiment here uses Elzybells new “Family Greetings” and I have to say this are fantastic! This is a mix and match set that you can use to create your greeting to suit all sorts of occasions. Besides words like Greatest, best, fantastic special etc. It also contains all sorts of “family” related words like Mum, Dad, Sister Brother etc. This set covers so many options you are even set for step, foster, in laws etc … the list goes on!

A Mechanical Father’s Day!

 

Elzybells Art Stamps have a new release this coming Thursday 21st May, so for the next few days I will be sharing with you some cards I have made using some of the stamps that will be available.

All my cards for this release are male themed, this is always a theme that many of us have problems with so I hope you will enjoy these new stamps. They are perfect for Father’s Day which isn’t that far away if you live in the Northern Hemisphere and off course even for male birthdays.

The first card I have to share with you uses the cute Mechanic Ted which I just had to have … I don’t think I had any mechanic themed stamps before.

When Life Gives You Lemons!

Hi all!

It is Monday which means it is time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends.

This week Deb challenged us all to use any specialty type of paper.  some possibilities....vellum, acrylic, foil, flocked, metallics...anything beyond the typical cardstock and printed designer papers.

When I saw I could use vellum I immediately thought of this glass card that I made a few weeks ago with my friend Maryann and haven’t had a chance to post as yet … isn’t it good when you already have a card that suits the challenge hehe.

The instructions on how to create this “cup card” are located in the Resources section of SCS. It really is super easy, I have been wanting to make one for ages and I finally got around to doing it … yahhhhhhh!

Viva Las VSN!

Hi everyone,

It is VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) over on SCS this weekend. This time round the theme is Viva Las VSN which of course has a Vegas Theme.

I managed to play one of the challenges this morning hosted by Kimme Leach (MelenaPrincess over on SCS). Kimme challenge was called “Slots of Fun” and it was a sketch challenge … yes my favorite challenge. Kimme had a slot machine in mind when she created this sketch hehe. Look 3 owls in row does that mean I am a winner LOL!!!!!!

Of course I had to play with yet another of my new Jessica Lynn Original owls … this is Ruby with a Martini which I thought was appropriate for a Vegas theme. Now there is a catch when playing any VSN challenge which is you have to create your card within 45 mins … yikes … it can take me that long even longer trying to figure out what embellishments to use hehe … but yes I made it within the timeframe.

Owl’s It Going?

 

Hi everyone and Owl’s it Going??? hehehehehe!

My card today combines two challenges. First up it is this week’s Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge TECC68, it has been ages since I have played this on the same day as it was posted!

The second challenge I found on the Jessica Lynn Originals Design Team Blog. The challenge was to use any JLO stamp you have that hasn't seen any ink or enough ink!  Well seeing I only got my Owl stamps on Thursday none of them had seen any ink so this was an easy challenge to do hehe. I used “Ruby As A Daisy” isn’t she cute! I stamped the owl twice on white card and then cut out just the flower portion of her head so that it was 3D’d.

Happy Father’s Day!

Hi everyone

It is way early for Father’s Day cards down here in Australia as we don’t celebrate Father’s Day until September. However I am sure you will end up seeing a few from me in the next month because I know it is Father’s Day in June up in the US and so many challenges focus on this.

Anyway it is time for another challenge over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Paper Craft Planet Group, this week the challenge is hosted by Cheryl Walker. You have two weeks from today to participate in this challenge and you also have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if your card is selected randomly from all the entries received.

The challenge this time round is to create a Father’s Day card. (not a big surprise ha hehe)

I used the lighthouse from the new “Surf’s Up” set designed by my friend Susan Uncle. Lighthouses are always great for male cards!

I Love My Mum!

Hi everyone,

About a week or two ago I had a little time on my hand so starting browsing through the daily uploads over on SCS. Well while browsing I discovered a new source of amazing owls stamps! These little cuties are called Brentwood Owl and are available from Jessica Lynn Original.

Now I know a lot of you follow my blog because you love owls too! I am amazed that it took me so long to discover these. Normally if something new owlish comes out friends or followers email me and let me know but this time it just slipped by. I am sure if you love owl stamps you will love these ones too, I have some ordered and it won’t be long before I will need to order some more hehe. You can see the owls here.

Ok so if I don’t have my Brentwood Owls yet how did I manage to use one to make my card today … I know you are asking I would too hehe. Well Jessica also sells some digital stamps, most of them you have to pay for but this cute little guy called I love ________ Brentwood was available to download free so of course I had to download it right. You can find the digital stamps here.

Anyway I also recently purchased this cute little onesie die from Sizzix, it is one of their Bigz dies that they sell so of course I had to play with that and I thought this owl would look adorable on a onesie right … and what would it say on a baby’s onesie but I love my mum or I love my dad … of course I went with mum for my card today.

Oh and look this is the second card in a matter of a week that I have created and actually used eyelets on the card without it being a requirement of a challenge hehe … I normally always seem to go for brads rather then eyelets these days even though I have sooooooo many eyelets. Maybe we need more eyelet challenges so I can use them ha … shhhhhhhh!

Hanna …. The Graduate!

Hi everyone!

For many of you in the northern part of the world it is graduation time. Hanna Stamps have some brand new stamps that are perfect for those of you needing to make graduation cards or invites.  First up there is a Graduation Hanna set that contains not only Hanna for the girls in your life but also a boy graduate, as well as a couple of other great stamps.

Not to be left out Riley also makes an appearance for graduation. These are both available from the Hanna Stamps web store now!

Thinking Of Moo!

Hi everyone, It is time Elzybells challenge over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge was to create a card that has more then one fold.

After some thinking (there are so many things to select from after all), I decided to make a flap card.

I used the S-moo-ches set from Elzybells Art Stamps, I so love this set hehe!

Here is the inside of my card …  I stamped another of the cute cow images and added the sentiment.

Here is another pic of my card with only the flap part open. I used the basic grey magnet closures to keep my card closed. I love these closures cause they are thin enough that you can hide them under your card so you can’t see them on your paper. You can only see the one on the black scallop circle in this pic. The other is hidden under my designer paper.

Ready… Set… Blow … MFTSC81

Hi everyone. It is time for another MFT Stamps sketch challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum. This week it is my friend Cindy Haffner's turn to supply the sketch.

I decided to use the new Birthday Flopsey set again … I so love this set and you always need birthday cards right!

I did flip (or mirror) the sketch so that the sentiment could be on the left side of my card rather than the right as it suited my image much better that way as there was a space on the left side of the image anyway.

Prettie Wednesday – Hi

Hi everyone, hope you are all enjoying your day. It is time for another Prettie Wednesday challenge. Two weeks ago Jackie Rakoski challenged the Prettie Girls to create a card using shades of your favorite color! So pick your favorite color and use one shade darker and one shade lighter.
Ok well if you didn’t know already, my favorite color is blue! I hope I have done this right Jackie but I can see 3 shades of blue on my card so I hope you can too. I do like monochromatic cards!!!!
I took the new “Give Thanks” Sophia which will be the June Stamp of the Month over on Paper Pretties. You  can find out how you can receive this stamp the month before it is available to the public here.

Lil’ Cowgirl!

It is time for another sketch challenge (SC228) over on SCS! This morning I was playing around with this week’s technique challenge (TLC220), which was the bandanna technique. When I saw the sketch this afternoon I thought it would be great to combine the two challenges. I then remembered this cute cowgirl I got recently from The Greeting Farm and this is what I came up with.
