Happy Easter

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Easter themed Slimline card I created that include a money holder on the inside.

I recently received the Whimsy Stamps Slimline Meadow die set for my birthday, so when I knew I had to make a card with these cute gnomes it was the first die set I grabbed.

I used green ink to add color to the grass area of the Slimline panel and then I added clouds to the top portion using MFT Stamps Rolling Clouds Stencil.

The gnomes and other images are all from MFT Stamps Spring Gnomes stamp set which is the same stamp set I used on my other Slimline Easter card I created and shared the other day.

I used Taylored Expressions Easter Mini Strips Stamp set with coordinating dies for the sentiment.

For the inside of my card I created a money holder to the left panel of the card. To create the money holder I cut a piece of white cardstock to measure 4 1/2 inches x 4 inches. I scored around 3 sides at 1/2 inch and then used a Lawn Fawn Balloon die to die cut the top portion of the card.

To decorated the card I used MFT Stamps Slimline Grassy Hills die set to add the grass along the bottom of the card. I added the tree from Whimsy Stamps Slimline Meadow die set and the gnome and images.

Sending Wishes For Your Speedy Recovery

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing three Get Well themed Slimline cards I created recently. I have been building up my stash of get well cards recently, but they have all been more suited for females so I wanted to get something made for a male.

I decided to use Waffle Flower Crafts Slimline Angled Panel die. As I wanted to add three different colors to the diagonal striped section of the card, I decided to make 3 cards the same.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Phrase Builder Sending die set to add the "Sending" sentiment. I white embossed the sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock, this sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios Ways To Say Get Well stamp set.

For the inside of the card I used two more sentiments from the Picket Fence Studios stamp set. I also added the doctors bag which is from MFT Stamps Feel Better stamp set.

Easter Greetings

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing an Easter themed Slimline card I created recently.

As my grandchildren are growing up, I decided it would be better to give them money for easter rather than a gift. That way they can add to the money and buy something they really want. So I needed to create a money holder to put the money in, Slimline cards are perfect for that.

To create my card I used Mama Elephant's Slim Woodland die set to create the background of my scene. I die cut the die using green and brown cardstocks and then pieced the two together. I also used the cloud die from Mama Elephant's Slim Card Basics die set to add the branches to the trees.

To decorate my card I used MFT Stamps Spring Gnomes stamp set. I hadn't planned to get this stamp set, but those gnomes are so cute that they finally wore me down!

I don't have a money holder die that would fit a Slimline card, so I created my own by cutting a panel of white cardstock to measure 9 1/2 inches x 3 inches and then scored around three sides at 1/2 inch. I then  used an oval die to cut a piece at the top of the panel. This was then adhered to the back panel of the card.

I then decorated the edges of both the money holder and the base of the card using the Slimline grass die from MFT Stamps Slimline Grassy Hills die set and a few more images from the Spring Gnomes stamp set.

Tolkien Reading Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Maryann our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off her month with one last challenge.

Today is Tolkien Reading day, named after the Author J R R Tolkien, create a card using one of his books for inspiration and make sure that you add gold in some form on your card

This challenge was tough! as I don't have anything stamps or dies which are Tolkien related as such, so it took a while to finally work out what I was going to create. I did remember I had Hello Bluebirds Cozy Burrow Scene die set which I got last year and hadn't used, this die set had the tree trunk at the top of the die and then shows an underground scene. It's an A2 sized die, but as I like creating Slimline cards I wanted to see if I could convert it to a slimline card.

The inspiration for my card comes from Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit who appeared in two of J R R Tolkien's books ... The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. His house was a small Hobbit Hole, which does go underground ... which is why I decided to use the Cozy Burrow Scene die. I also remember that in Lord of the Rings, dwarves came to visit the Baggins in his house. As you can see I didn't end up using dwarves, I used Bears instead.

To create my card I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows die set to create my background panel. I die cut all the pieces from Hello Bluebird's Cozy Burrow Scene die ... this includes the tree trunk, the fireplace. I worked out the different levels I would need for above ground, the walls and floor and used Distress Oxide & Distress Inks to color the various pieces/levels.

I used one of the grass border dies from Lawn Fawn's Grassy Hillside Borders die set, to add some grass behind the tree trunk.

For the floor I used Penny Black's Wood Floor die which I colored using Distress Oxide inks and added to the bottom of the panel.

To decorate the fireplace, I used Distress Oxide inks and Honey Bee Stamps Perfect Bricks Stencil to add the brick detail to the fireplace.

I die cut an oval die from Karen Burniston's Ovals - Crosshatch die set to create a rug for the floor.

I used Lawn Fawn's Den Sweet Den stamp set  to add the bears, the books also help tie in the Tolkien Reading Day as the bears like books, maybe those are his books in the scene. I added Mama Bear and the cubs inside the burrow and Papa Bear is sleeping on the tree trunk (maybe he needed some peace and quiet, lol!)

To help the card tie in with the theme of the challenge, I stamped a sign and stamped the word "Baggins" on it and added it behind the bear.

I normally create some sort of pop-up or fancy element for the inside of my card when doing these challenges, but for my card today I kept it simple and flat. I added the birthday sentiment from Made To Surprise's Sentiment stamp set and added two of the bear images that I used on the front of the card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Welcome Baby

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a "Welcome Baby" card using the new Quatrefoil Background from the March 2021 Release.

To create my card I used the A2 Portrait Card with Layer and Matting Layer die sets.

I used Divinity Designs Baby Blessings die set to create all the baby elements included on this card. I used the Baby Girl 6 x 6 Paper Pad for all the die cut images.

For the inside of the card I added a sentiment using the Bless This Baby stamp/die duos set. I also added a strip of patterned paper along the bottom edge of the inside of my card.

Teacher Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  As challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently the 30th March is Pencil Day … For our challenge this week, feature pencils, colored pencils, crayons etc. on your card creations. Either use this medium to color your image, or feature an image of pencils, crayons etc.

As I had recently purchased Concord & 9th's Color Me Happy die set, which includes dies to create a crayon, of course I had to use it for my card today.

I used the crayon dies to die cut enough crayons to fit the width of my card using the ROYGBIV rainbow colors, I also added pink as I need to add two extra crayons and having equal colors looked better. After adding the crayons to my panel I created a Slimline Card.

To finish off the card I added the "teacher" sentiment using Honey Bee Stamps Special Teacher die set.

For the inside of the card I added the crayon off cuts from the front of the card to add a border on the bottom base card.

I created a pop up card by creating a box pop up and added that to the centre of the card. I added the "Thank You" & "For All You Have Taught Me" sentiments which are from a Heffy Doodle Crafts stamp set.

To finish off the card I die cut 6 more crayons which I adhered around the back panel of the card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Beep Boop

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday themed Slimline Pop up card.

For the background of my card I used Dare 2B Artzy's Slimline Gears Die. I die cut the die from silver  cardstock, for the background panel behind the gears background I used an old technique I used to do years ago using oil pastels/crayons. To do this I used black cardstock and then scribbled silver, copper and red oil pastels/crayons over the background and then used my finger to blend the pastels into the card.

The gear background made me think of robots, so I pulled out my Honey Bee Stamps Build A Bot stamps & dies. I added the addition gear/cog that comes in the die set which I added close to the sentiment using a screw brad.

For the inside of the card, I die cut the Slimline Gears die to create the borders at the top and bottom edges of my card. This die is not long enough to go across the entire length of my slimline card so I die cut a short addition piece, removed the side border and matched up the gears carefully. I then adhered the panel to another black panel that I used the Oil Pastel technique to and cut the panel down the length of the panel.

I added two of the sentiments from the Honey Bee Stamps Gears Up stamp set.

To create the popped up robots, I used the longer angled platform from Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Pop up die set.

Along the bottom edge of the card I added a farm boy, goat and chickens from Neat & Tangled's G.O.A.T stamp set.

For the inside of the card I used some of the dies I used on the front of the card to create a farm scene.

I added the farm boy, goat and chickens to the grass area.

Both sentiments used on this card are from Sugar Pea Designs Barn to Be Wild stamp set.

Coffee and Friends

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a coffee themed Slimline Z Fold Card using stamps, dies and papers from Divinity Designs.

I am also playing along with the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop which is being held from Friday 19th March to Friday 26th March.

To create the Slimline Z Fold Card base and layers I used the new Slimline Z Fold Card with Layers die set released by Divinity Designs earlier this month.

For the layers of the card I used the Beautiful Blooms Slimline Sized Paper Pad.

On the  first panel on the left I used the cup, saucer and spoon from the Coffee & Mugs die set, this was layered to oval panels using the Double Stitched Ovals and Ovals die set.

On the centre panel I used the Coffee Heartbeat die which I adhered to the bottom of the card.

The sentiments on the centre and right panels are from the Hug in a Mug Stamp/Die Duo set.

Here is a look at the card from the other side of the card. The top portion of the pink panel can be seen from the front when the card is closed.

I added another sentiment from the Hug in a Mug Stamp/Die Duo set. At the bottom of the panel I added a mug using the Cup & Mug die set.

Just Chicken In

Hi Crafty Friends,

My card today is a card I made from an online class that was held last weekend. The class was taught by Karen Burniston through Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. Due to time zones I wasn't able to attend the class live, but thankfully the class was put onto Stamp & Scrapbook Expo's YouTube channel, so I was able to check it out at a time more suitable for me.

Being on Karen's Design Team, I was sent a class kit so I could participate in the class and I am so glad I was able to play along too.

As you can see by the card, this is a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Bitty Ball Pop-up die set. I have made many cute animals using either the Bitty Ball or Surprise Ball Pop-up die sets they are also fun to make and I enjoyed being able to make this while Karen taught the class, it has been a long time since I have done a class.

To create the hole in the centre of the front of the card I used the largest circle from the Circles - Crosshatch die set.

Even though the class is over and all the kits were sold out, you can still find out how to make this card and create your own using Karen Burniston's dies by going to the Kit Instructions page on the K B Riley LLC website, you will find the link in my supply list below.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed. You can see the large chicken pop-up peeking through the large window in the card. The card also uses dies from the Alphabet; Spring Animals; Chicken, Pig and Lamb; Backyard Charms and Word Set 10 - Thinking of You die sets.

Let The Celebration Begin

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Maryann our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month, it's time for a sketch challenge.

I decided to lengthen the sketch to create a Slimline Card.

I used Kat Scrappiness Wonky Stitched Slimline Nesting dies to create the background panel for my card. I also used one of the strips from Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Strips die set to add the strips according to the sketch. After adding the strips to the panel I then added pink glitter dot peel off stickers along the strips.

For the elongated oval I used an older Spellbinders die set. The cute image is from MFT Stamps Sweet Celebration stamp set.

To finish off the card I added a sentiment along the bottom of the card.

For the inside of the card I added a pop-up using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I added the same image that I used on the front on the pop up panel.

I used Catherine Pooler Designs Best Friend Paper pad to add the patterned paper to the front of the card and also to the panels on either side of the inside of the card.

To finish off the card I added another of the sentiments included in the stamp set.
