Love Life And Be Girly

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Nicky Foden our challenge hostess for the month finishes of the month with one last challenge.

This week Nicky has given us an Inspiration Challenge - apparently the piece of artwork below has been calling to her, use it as inspiration to make a card. Take a minute to zoom in as there are a lot of colours that aren’t as noticeable at first glance.

When I looked at the artwork I saw the colors white, black, grey, gold/yellow, peach and pinks so that is what I took for the inspiration to create my card today.

I pulled out my Studio Light Missees die and stamp sets to create this fun girl ... Betty, Carol & Tasha. The face features use stamps from the Tatjana stamp set. Black of course is the hair, glasses, sentiment and various other trims on the girl. Grey is the patterned paper which is from Catherine Pooler Designs Best Friend Slimline Paper Pad. Gold/Yellow is of course the dress, scarf, headband and bow. Peach is the girls skin and pink the fingernails and cheeks.

I used one of the rectangles from Picket Fence Studios Nesting Rectangles die set to create my side folding Slimline card that measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches.

At the top of the card I used Whimsy Stamps Comic Speech Bubbles die set to add the speech bubble. The sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set that is included in the Missees Carol die/stamp set.

For the inside of the card I created a double pop-up using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

I added two strips of grey striped patterned paper to either edge of the card with a sliver of black cardstock for trim.

I die cut two of the arms from the Missees Tasha die set and added those to either side of my card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

What a super fun card pop up using the Studio Light Misses die cuts and stamps! I'm suddenly having the urge to play dress up with these cool paper dolls!
