Sending a Birthday Pug

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It was my youngest daughter's birthday recently and as she loves pugs, and is the mother of a pug, when Spellbinders/Bibi Cameron came out with the Pug Collection I just had to add it to my stash.

As I love shaped cards, of course I decided to make a shaped card using this die set. My grand puppy is named Frankie (a girl) and named after me :).

This card uses the Spellbinders Big Pug and the Cats and Dogs Accessories die sets.

I found a tiny birthday sentiment in a The Greeting stamp set to add to the pugs bone tag.

For the inside of the card, I added a pop up, using Karen Burniston's new Postage Frame Pop-up die set. I just had to see if it would fit and use the mechanism. I love how easy this die is to use.

I added a pug themed birthday sentiment which is from an older Newton's Nook stamp set.

I also added the paw print to the lower right hand corner of the card which is from Whimsy Stamps.

And one final photo, to show how the Postage Frame Pop-up mechanism looks from the side.

Wheely Awesome Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a fun dog themed Slimline Pop-up card I created recently using stamps and dies from various companies.

La-La Land Crafts recently released a kit that included a dog themed stamp set that included a pug. I am always looking out for pug stamps and I am a grandmother to a pug LOL! The first thing I did when I started playing with the stamp set, was to stamp and colour all the images. I noticed one of the dogs could look like a Maltese terrier and as I have one of those, I coloured the image like mine. I had also coloured another of the dogs brown which then looked like my other daughter's dog, so of course I had to make a card that incorporated all three.

I created a Slimline card that measures 4 inches x 8 1/2 inches, I wanted the wider size so the dogs all fitted easily.

I used ombre designer paper for the sky. I then used the cloud die included in Spellbinders Hummingbird & Lily die set, I have a feeling I will be using this a lot as those clouds are very pronounced and work well for bushes too. Finally I added the road at the bottom of the card.

I die cut two pine trees using an older Sizzix Big die which I added to the top of the card. I also added a circle for the sun to the top right hand corner of my card.

I used the Motorcycle w/Side Car die and the Pawsome Friend stamp set, both from La-La Land Crafts to add my doggy scene. To finish off the front of the card, I added three birds using a Honey Bee Stamps stamp set.

As you can see, I created a pop-up to the inside of my card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I love adding a double pop-up with these dies when I make a Slimline card.

I used the Cloud border from the Spellbinders die set again to create the greenery along the bottom of my card. I also added another pine tree.

As the dogs on the front are in a motorcycle, I thought the "Wheely Awesome Day" sentiment which is from a Made To Surprise stamp set. The dog themed sentiment is from the Pawsome Friend stamp set.

Finally I stamped out three more of the dogs and added them to the labels. Maybe they flew off the motorcycle and landed there LOL!

Sugar Pug Fairy

Hi Crafty Friends,

Last week I shared a card using Creative Craft Products A6 Window Card from their Fancy Folds Collection, today I am sharing another card using this die, folding the card the opposite way, so you have a double gatefold on the front.

To decorate my card I used the pug and sentiment from Pink Ink Designs Pawsome Pooch stamp set. I just love that cute pug wearing the tutu, it reminds me of a pug I know LOL!

Here is a look at my card when it is fully opened. I added the "Sugar Pug Fairy" sentiment to the inside panel as well as the wand and paw print which are also included in the stamp set.

I used pink woodgrain paper for my layered panels which I found as a digital paper on Etsy.

Here is a look at the back of my card, I added a birthday sentiment combining sentiments from an older There She Goes Pugalicious stamp set and a birthday sentiment from Card Making Magic.

I also stamped the top half of the pug in the lower left hand corner.

My card today uses three of the new die sets being released ... Dog Tiny House Add-Ons; Bam Box Pop-up and Hexagon - Crosshatch die sets.

I have created a Slimline Card with a 3/4 Front. To create my card I cut two pieces of red cardstock for the base. The back measures 3 5/8 inches x 8 5/8 inches. The front is 3 5/8 inches x 6 inches, I then scored along the long side of this panel at 1/2 inch to adhere this panel to the back panel. Once I had the base of my card all done, I was then able to add my layers. As this is a Christmas card, I decided to bling it up a little by adding holographic card for the layer under the patterned papers.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For the dog house I used the new Dog Tiny House Add-On die set with the Tiny House Pop-up die set. The new add on set comes with the walls for the dog house, a dog, bones, a paw print, a ball, collar and a dog. The walls and paw print have the stamp feature on them which means you can ink up the die to add the colour as you die cut.

Although this die set does come with a dog, as I had to make a pug themed Christmas card for my daughter to give to her vet, I decided to use pugs on this card. The pugs in this set are from an older Clearly Besotted Bah Hum-Pug! stamp set and as there were already a few pugs stamps, cut and coloured in the back of the stamp set and went with three of those.

For the two pugs not attached to the dog house, I used the pop-up included in the new Bam Box Pop-up die set to pop them up. When my card is. closed the two pugs adhered to the Bam Boxes are on top of each other adding bulk to that area, next time I make this type of card I will make sure that I adhere them in different positions. The Bam Box folds flat for closing and pops up when you open the card.

I used the two of the labels included in the Bam Box Pop-up die set to add the two labels on the inside of the card. One has a stamped sentiment from an older pug themed stamp set, the other is blank for the sender to write a personal message.

As this card has three pop ups and is a little bulky, I needed a way to keep the card closed when needed. So I created a belly band. I used the new Hexagons -  Crosshatch die set for the layering panels and then added a pug image using Crafter's Companion's Bah!
Humbug! stamp set.

Here is one last look at my card when it is open with the belly band sitting on the right side of the card.

Super Duper Birthday

 Hi Crafty Friends,

Apparently my grand puppy Frankie has been invited to a birthday party, so my daughter asked me to make a pug themed birthday card for her.

I recently received an order from Clearly Besotted and one of the stamp sets I received was an updated version of the Super Pug, I think it is already discontinued but as it was cheap and had extra stamps included in it I had to have it.

I created a Mini Slimline Card using Mini Slimline dies from Lawn Fawn, the grass is a Slimline die also from Lawn Fawn.

I added a yellow flash thingy to the top right hand corner of the card.

For the inside of the card, I added another grass border and one of the pugs. I also added two sentiments which are Whimsy Stamps Wrinkles stamp set.

Pug Sympathy

Hi Crafty Friends,

My daughter recently asked me to make a sympathy card for her friend who had just lost her beloved pug. Of course I said yes.

I created a Slimline card using Whimsy Stamps Slimline Dog Bone die set. As I was making a bone shaped card, I positioned the bone die onto my top folding card, so that the top cut lines were slightly over the fold. I die cut another bone shape from white cardstock and used a cloud stencil to add clouds to the top portion of the card.

Next I die cut the bottom of the bone from green cardstock and then using a slimline grass die to die cut the grass. This was then adhered to the bottom of the bone shaped card.

As my daughter also owns a pug, I have lots of pug stamps. For this card I used a pug fro Whimsy Stamps Wrinkles stamp set.

The "With Sympathy" sentiment uses the dies from Karen Burniston.

To finish off my card I die cut the collar, also from the Slimline Dog Bone die set, I added the dogs name to the name tag.

For the  inside of my card, I added another grass border along the bottom of the card.

The dog bowl is also from Whimsy Stamps Slimline Dog Bone die set. I added another pug image from the Wrinkles stamp set.

To finish my card I added a sympathy sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Rainbow Bridge stamp set.

Pawesome Thanks

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a pug themed Mini Slimline card. My daughter has a pug and recently she had an operation on her nose to make it easier to breath. My daughter mentioned that should like to send the vet a thank you card ... so this is the result.

I created the mini slimline card using Trinity Stamps Clean and Simple Mini Slimline Panels die set. I used two  of the dies included in the die set to create the 3 panel theme from white cardstock. I then used white cardstock using one of the nesting dies included in the set to die cut a white panel. I used this panel to add blue ink using Distress Oxide inks. I added the grass along the bottom edge of the blue panel before adhering the white 3 panel frame to the top.

Frankie, the pug that had the operation, had to wear  a cone for a week and a half so I decided to pull our my Whimsy Stamps Wrinkles stamp set. I added Frankie before the operation on the first panel, Frankie with the cone on in the centre and then Frankie upside down because of the cone on the last panel.

The sentiment at the top of each panel is from Lawn Fawn's Critter Chatter Pets stamp set.

I layered the decorated panel to a black layer and then to a top folding mini slimline card that measures 6 inches x 3 inches.

For the inside of the card I added the "thank you" sentiment from Sunny Studios Stamps Teacher Appreciation stamp set. The You are pawesome is from an older Simon Says Stamps You're Pawesome stamp set.

I added another pug to the lower left hand side of the card.

As I don't have any  Mini Slimline cards at present, but I do own Trinity Stamps Mini Slimline Card and Envelope die set I decided to make a Mini Slimline Envelope. The envelope is very simple, just die cut from thin white cardstock with another of the pugs on the lower left hand side of the card.

Oh So Merry Pugmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I created for the 2020 Fall | Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  The hop started on Friday 6th November and goes until Friday 13th November. I almost missed this hop this time around, I missed the info about it. It wasn't until I was checking out a friends on Friday that I discovered it was on. So I created a card yesterday.

As you can see, I have created a Christmas themed Slimline card. To create the Slimline base card I used Honey Bee Stamps Hexi Slimline Coverplate Top and Hexi Slimline Coverplate Base dies. I die cut the coverplate from paper bag cardstock and then layered this onto a top folding dark brown Slimline card that measures 3 1/2" x 8 1/2".

I used Tonic Studios Coffee Mug Shaker Creator die set to create the two mugs on my card. This die set can make shaker cards, but I decided to just use the main die to die cut solid mugs.

To decorate the mugs I used a Whimsy Stamps/Simon Says Stamp Collaboration stamps set which was part of STAMPtember 2020. As my daughter owns a pug, I just had to purchase this stamp set.

I added the Mama Elephant "Oh So Merry" sentiment to the left side of the card. I white embossed the "Pugmas" sentiment which is part of a sentiment included in the stamp set.

I had planned when I started making this to keep it simple ... but I just couldn't! So I created a pop up card on the inside. I die cut the Honey Bee Stamps Hexi Slimline dies that I used on the front to decorate the edges on the inside. After die cutting and layering, I cut the panel down the middle and adhered that to the edges.

I used Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Pop-up die set to create the pop up elements. I used the standard pop-up for the centre of the card and then used one of the other pop-up dies to add the pugs on either side of the centre pop-up.

I used Lawn Fawn's Oliver's ABCs die set to create the sentiment "Brewing Up" also the back of the card.

I used a sentiment from an older pug themed stamp set, to add a sentiment to the bottom portion of the card. This was layered using an older Spellbinders Mega Ovals and Mega Scalloped Ovals die set.

Yappy Birthday Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

My daughter recently asked me to make a pug themed birthday card, as her pug had been invited to another pugs birthday party. As they regularly get together, I decided to pull out my Whimsy Stamps Pet's Woof stamp set and create a Slimline card.

I used Slimline dies from Divinity Stamps for all the layers of my card ... Slimline Rectangles; Slimline Scalloped Rectangles and Slimline Grasses.

I die cut the sky panel in blue using the Slimline Rectangles die set above and then used a cloud stencil and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink to add clouds to the panel. I added the grass to the bottom section of the card.

For the inside of the card, I added a stripe of the patterned paper I used on the front of the card. I also added another of the pugs from the stamp set to the lower right hand corner of the card.

I added the sentiment to the card using the "Pugalicious" from an older There She Goes stamp set which is no longer available. The "Have A" and "Birthday" are both from Honey Bee Stamps Stellar Sentiments.
