Driving By To Say

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday themed Slimline card that I created recently. This Slimline card measures 3 5/8" x 8 5/8".

I created the background for my card using Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows. I used the largest Slimline rectangle die included in the set to die cut a panel from white and green cardstock. I blended Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass; Broken China & Faded Jeans onto the top of the white panel. I cut the green panel to approximately 5 1/2" and adhered it to the bottom of the white rectangle panel.

I used Kat Scrappiness Slimline Cityscape die set to create the city which I adhered above the grass.

I used one of the borders from Lawn Fawn's Road Border die set to trace my road as I needed something wider than the road border die. After adhering it to the background, I die cut the road border from white cardstock and used the white strips that fall out of the die cut to add to the road.

I used MFT Stamps Carpool die set to create the car, and used the man and woman from the Old Friends stamp set to add to inside of the car.

I added two trees from Lawn Fawn's Tree Before 'n Afters stamp set to add the trees.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Car Critters Christmas Add-on stamp set, die cutting it using Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builders die set.

For the inside of the card I added some green cardstock grass to the bottom of the card, die cutting the grass from Trinity Stamps Slimline The Great Outdoors die set.

I added the birthday sentiment to the top portion of the card which is from Mama Elephant.

Snowman Surprise

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Amy Ottmers our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Snowman what's new! - Winter is coming in the Northern Hemisphere which means snow and snowmen. Create a card today which includes a snowman.

I recently purchased some Slimline dies from Trinity Stamps which I wanted to play with, and this challenge was perfect for them. To create my card I used Trinity Stamps Happy Snowman and Slimline Surprise die sets. The Slimline Surprises die set includes dies to create a Sliding Pop-up Card, slimline style as well as a few other dies to create hidden zipped pockets etc.

For the background of my card, I blended Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans & Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks onto white cardstock before die cut the main die from the Slimline Surprises Die set. I then splattered white paint over the background to create snow.

I die cut the bottom piece of the Slimline Surprises die again this time from White Glitter cardstock and added it to the bottom of the panel.

I added the sentiment "Let It Snow" to the top of the card which is from The Ton's Easy Expressions Holiday stamp and coordinating die sets.

I die cut and assembled the snowman using white glitter cardstock. Prior to adhering this snowman to the card, I die cut trees using The Ton's Pine Tree Coverplate die from two different colored green cardstocks. I arranged the trees behind the snowman, so it appeared that there was a forest behind the snowman.

I stamped a sentiment to the top of the sliding panel, and another sentiment to the area which is revealed when the slider is pulled.

I kept this card as a flat card rather than adding it to a folded card, as this is the style of card which is nice to be displayed flat with the snowman standing up.

I die cut a white panel using one of the rectangle panels from Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels & Windows die set.

I added two of the trees from The Ton's Pine Trees Coverplate die to the bottom of the card.

For the sentiment I used MFT Stamps Stacked Merry Die-namics and then added the Christmas sentiment from MFT Stamps Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set.

Snowman Tri-Fold Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today the Divinity Designs Design Team are taking a look back at Divinity Designs November Release. For more inspiration using the November Release and to see the other designers projects, be sure to visit the Divinity Designs Blog .

I have created a Christmas themed Tri-fold card using Divinity Designs Tri-Fold Card with Layers die set.

I die cut the main tri-fold die from white cardstock and then used papers from the Christmas Collection 2020 Slimline Paper Pad to add the layers to the card.

I used the snowman from the Snowman & Friends Stamp set for the centre panel. I die cut the snowman panel using a square die from the Squares die set, and used the square die included in the Tri-Fold Card die set to die cut the pink square,

I stamped two of the sentiments included in the stamp set onto white cardstock and then using the Double Stitched Circles and Circles die sets to die cut the sentiments.  This was added to the lower left corner of my card.

On the top left corner, I added two pine branches which were die cut from white glitter cardstock using the dies from the Pinecones and Pine Branches die set.

I added three pink snowflakes to my card which are from the Cocoa & Coffee Stamp/Die Duos set.

I created a coordinating envelope for my card using the A2 Envelope die. I used the die to die cut some patterned paper for the top flap which coordinates with the card. I also added the snowman to the left side of my card.

Santa Boxes

Hi Crafty Friends,

t's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Kelly Santi our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Today is Tie One On Day.  Create a card using something that’s tied (apron strings, shoelaces, bow tie, ribbons in the hair, etc.   Alternate is to use ribbon/twine/etc anywhere on your card – or both combined.

It is a month until Christmas ... yikes! As you can see by my photo above, I didn't create a card for today's challenge, instead I created a couple of cute little Santa Boxes. These are both tied at the top with ribbon, so I figured this was suitable for today's challenge.  I created the boxes using a new die from i-Crafter called Santa Box. The  assembled box size is 3” x 3 ⅝” x 1 ½”

To assemble the box, it's just a matter of scoring three lines on each side. Gluing the bottom together, fold the top score lines and tying some ribbon through the holes in the top of the box to keep shut.

This die set comes with the die to create the basic box and then the pieces to decorate the box with Santa's Face. You could also use this box for other occasions, by decorating with other dies you may already have in your stash.

These are fairly quick to put together. I die cut the box base twice to create the basic box, and also once using patterned paper, which I cut to cover just the bottom portion of the front of the box. You could leave this plain red, but I like the look of the pattern paper for a little more interest and if you were making lots of these it would help personalise the box too.

I die cut the the other dies in various colors to create Santa's face and adhered them to the box.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Teacher Slimline Flip Frame Pop-up

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Teacher thank you card, which I have been making for my grandchildren to give to their teachers at the end of the year. For my card today I decided to create a Slimline Pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Flip Frame Pop-up for the pop up portion of the card.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I created my slimline card which is 4 inches x 9 inches when folded.

I used the frame included in the Flip Frame Pop-up die set to create a blackboard. I white embossed the ABC and I 2 3 onto the black portion of the frame.

To decorate my card I added the teacher and some of the images included in the Essentials by Ellen Leading Ladies - Teacher Lady stamp set.

For the borders of the pattern paper panels on each side of the card, I used one of the Slimline Borders included in Sunny Studio Stamps Slimline Basic Borders die set.

I added a circle to the lower left hand side of the card using the Circles Crosshatch die set. I added the Lawn Fawn Thanks, Teacher Line Border die set, which I cut smaller to fit into the circle. I also added a book and pen to the lower left side of the circle.

On the right hand panel, I added the large apple to which I added a stamped sentiment from Heffy Doodle Stamps Teach Me Words stamp set.

For the front of the card, I added the same pattern paper and Slimline Border die that I used on the inside of the card.

I added two apples which are from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Apple Frames, using the apple from the inside of the frame.

I added the #1 to the top apple which is from an older Papertrey Ink Teacher die set. The teacher on the bottom apple is from Honey Bee Stamps Teacher die set.

Sending Merry Mail

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas themed Lever Card using stamps, dies and papers from Divinity Designs.

To create my card I used the Lever Card with Layers die set. The patterned paper layers are from the Holly Jolly Collection Paper Pad.

To decorate my card I used the Sending Merry Mail stamp set, which included the mail box full of packages and a number of sentiments.

For the inside of the card I added two of the sentiments included in the stamp set. These were stamped and layered using the Sentiment Strip with Layers die set from the April 2020 Blessings Box.

I masked the "From our house to yours" sentiment, when I was stamping it, so I could die cut it in two parts rather than one line so it would fit within the panel.

I created a coordinating envelope using the A2 Envelope die. I stamped the mail box and a sentiment to the lower left corner of the card. I also die cut an additional flap from patterned paper to adhered to the flap.

Teacher Slimline Peekaboo Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Teacher thank you card I created for my grandchildren to give to their teachers at the end of the year.

I finally received my Whimsy Stamps Slimline die order which had taken about 9 or 10 weeks to get here ... parcels to Australia can take so long now we are living in a pandemic world ... sigh. Of course as I had been waiting so long I had to use one of my dies immediately.

For my card today I have created a Slimline Peekaboo card using Whimsy Stamps Slimline Scallop Peekaboo 1 die set. I die cut the die from red cardstock and then layered patterned paper to the two doors on the front of the card.

I added ovals to each door which are from Karen Burniston's  Crosshatch Ovals die set. I then added the #1 and teacher die cut sentiments to the card.  The #1 is from an older PTI Wonderful Words Teacher die set and the teacher sentiment is from Heffy Doodle.

I adhered a rectangle panel to the back of the peekaboo panel using patterned paper at the top (for the wall) and woodgrain paper along the bottom of the floor.

This panel was then adhered to a top folding Slimline card which measures 8 5/8 x 3 5/8 inches.

I used stamps from Clearly Besotted's Wise Owl; Picture It Classroom and Being Schooled stamp sets to decorate the inside of the card.

For the inside of the card I created a pop up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Thanks die. I love that this can work in a Slimline card as well as a standard A2 card.

I added a few more of the owls to the back of the card, coloring the books in rainbow order.

I added a patterned paper panel, to both the top and bottom edges of the card, using a border die from Karen Burniston's new Long Nature Edges die set.

To finish off the card, I added a mega oval & scalloped oval to the base of the card, adding a sentiment from Heffy Doodle's Teach Me Words stamp set.

Christmas Bulb Slimline Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a Christmas themed Slimline Shaker card to share with you today. I used the Christmas Bulb die set from the October 2020 Blessings Box, this kit is full of wonderful stamps and dies which will make wonderful Christmas cards. This time around I created a shaker card using the Christmas Bulb.

For the Slimline Card, I used the Slimline Card Base; Slimline Rectangles and Slimline Layering Rectangles die sets.

I used papers from the Shine Bright Slimline and Serenity Snowflakes Slimline Paper Pads.

I die cut the pine branches from the Pinecone & Pine Branches die set from white glitter cardstock and adhered it to the top left corner of the card, so that it looked like the bulb was hanging from the tree.

I also used the Merry Christmas with Layers die set to add the sentiment.

For the inside of the card I added the Joy To The World die set to add the sentiment. I also used the Slimline Rectangles and Slimline Layering Rectangles die sets for the layers of the card.

I added the nativity scene from the Christmas Bulb die set to the bottom of the card.

Merry Poinsettia Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Amy Ottmers our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

It's the third Saturday of the month, so it's time for a sketch challenge!

As I had Trinity Stamps Stitched Strips die set in my stash which I hadn't used yet, I decided to  use this sketch and make a Slimline card. I used the two wider stitched strips dies included in the die set to die cut the strips using two different patterned papers.

I added a coordinating pattern paper to the top portion of my card.

For the panel on the sketch I used Waffle Flower Crafts A7 Layers die set to create the two layered panels.

I decorated this panel using MFT Stamps Stacked Merry Die-namics for the large sentiment.

I added the poinsettia to the top right hand corner of the panel using Spellbinders Glimmer Poinsettia set. The "Christmas" sentiment is from Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments Glimmer set.

For the inside of the card I used Karen Burniston's Long Rectangles - Crosshatch for the white panel. I added another of the gold foiled poinsettia's to the top right corner of the panel.

The sentiment is an older one in my stash from Paper Inspirations.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
