Birthday Wishes Hooray

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Just like Slimline Cards, Mini Slimline Cards are also becoming very popular, for our challenge this week create a Mini Slimline card. Typically Mini Slim Line Cards are either 3 1/2 inches x 6 inches or 3 inches x 6 inches. More info on Mini Slimline cards can be found in the files section of the Slimline Card Addicts Facebook Group.

For my card today I created my Mini Slimline card using Stitched Mini Slimline dies from Trinity Stamps which I recently received. I used rainbow papers from Whimsy Stamps to create the background of my card.

I used Mama Elephant's Birthday Wishes sentiment die set to create my large sentiment on the front of my card, as you can see it is perfect for Mini Slimline & Slimline cards. I die cut the sentiment twice, once from white cardstock and once from black and then layered the two together to create a shadow effect.

I used some of the cute animals from Hello Bluebird's Word Buddies Woodland Stamp set to decorate the front of the card.

For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray die set. I used more rainbow papers from Whimsy Stamps to add a border to both edges of my card.

I added a few more of the animals to the top of the pop-up.

I added the "It's Your Birthday" sentiment to the bottom right of the pop-up which is from an older Simon Says Stamp/Reverse Confetti Stamptember stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Dad's Hat

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently today is International Tiger Day. Our challenge for this week is to include a tiger (or other cat) on your card – tiger, lion, your own little tabby (you get the idea).

I recently purchased Stampin' Up's Hats Off Die and stamp set, one of the labels included in the set that can be used to decorate the cap is a tiger. As my husband loves the Richmond Tigers which is a Australian Rules Football team here in Australia, I decided to make a Father's Day card using that label.

I have created a top folding Mini Slimline Card which measures 3 1/4 inches x 6 1/4 inches, for the layers of my card I used Mini Slimline Dies from Trinity Stamps. I die cut the cap from black and yellow cardstock and  trimmed off the brim from the yellow cap and adhered this tot the black one.

I used Lil Inker Designs "Dad" die which I die cut from black and yellow cardstock and offset the yellow over the black so it creates a shadow. I added this to the top left hand corner of the card.

I added the Happy Father's Day sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Dad & Me stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I created various layers of card and patterned paper using the Trinity Stamps Mini Slimline dies.

I added a sentiment to the rectangle panel which is from Waffle Flower Craft's Be Him Sentiments stamp set.

To finish off the inside of the card I added another of the Tiger Labels & a #1 Label to each side of the sentiment.

Chill Out Mason Jar Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a fun Mason Jar shaped Slimline Shaker Card I created recently.

This card uses Elizabeth Craft Designs Mason Jar Kit, which included dies and stamps to allow you to create Planner pages as well as Slimline cards.

As I per cards to planners, I created a Slimline card. This card will fit in a #10 envelope. The kit includes all the dies to die cut the Mason Jar, the penguins, trees and ice/sauce as well as a few other dies. So for my first card using the kit i decided to use mostly what was included in the kit.

I created a side folding card with the lid at the bottom of the card by placing the folded cardstock just in from the cutting line of the side of the die.

For the sky area, I used the inner die included in the kit, to die cut a piece of blue paper included in Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wishes 12 x 12 Paper.

I die cut the trees from green cardstock and the icicle die from white glitter, it's hard to see it in my card as the penguins and trees hide a lot of it, but it is there.

I die cut another of the mason jars, this time with the inner panel included to die cut a piece of cream corrugated card which I used for the front of the mason jar. I added a piece of acetate to cover the opening which keeps the glittered stars inside the skater area of the card.

The birthday sentiment is from a freebie stamp set I got some years ago from a magazine.

After creating the shaker card, I added the second penguin to the outside of the card. The lid of the jar is created using dark grey mirror card to which I added a birthday sentiment which was die cut using the same cardstock, layering up the sentiment three times.

For the inside of the card I added the glitter icicles die cut to the bottom of the card as well as another of the lids. The penguins were added to the ice portion of the card.

I die cut Lawn Fawn's Giant Happy Birthday from blue and black cardstock, layering the two together offsetting the black under the blue to create a shadow effect.

Friendship is the Sweetest Flower

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Mini Slimline card with coordinating envelope I created using stamps, dies, stencils and papers from Divinity Designs.

To create the mini slimline portion of the card, I used Mini Slimline Dies from Divinity Designs including: Mini Slimline Stacking Stars Background; Mini Slimline Rectangles; Mini Slimline Scalloped Rectangles and the Mini Slimline Card Base.

The flowers are from the Beautiful Blossoms Set 2 Paper/Die Duos set which is one of the sets included in the April 2021 Blessings Box. I am so loving these Paper/Die Duo sets!

I used a sentiment from the Sweet Friend stamp set which is also included in the same Blessings Box. The sentiment was layered using an oval from the Ovals die set.

For the inside of the card I added another sentiment and more flowers from the April 2021 Blessings Box.

I created the coordinating envelope using the Mini Slimline Envelope die. I die cut another flap from darker cardstock and blended ink through the Mixed Media Stencil Slimline Flower Burst to create a pattern on the flap.

I added a sentiment to the lower left hand corner of the card.

Happy Birthday To You

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a floral themed Slimline birthday card to share with you today.

For the slimline portion of my card I used Trinity Stamps new Slimline Striped Frame die set to create the black and white striped border around the edge of the card. While making this card, I discovered that the smallest rectangle die included in Lawn Fawn's Large Slimline with Sliders die set fits inside the solid white panel left after die cutting the frame. As I wanted to pop the smaller rectangle up from the frame I die cut this from white cardstock and then layered to a slightly larger rectangle panel. I splattered pink ink over the white panel.

To decorate my card I added the flower using Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers: Cone Flower die set. I added a birthday sentiment using the Miss You Big Time stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I added the Slimline Striped Frame again. As this had to be adhered to the inside of the card, I trimmed a sliver of card off each of the long borders to help it fit inside the card.

I used the "hooray" sentiment which is also included in the Slimline Striped Frame die set, die cutting this sentiment from pink and black cardstock and layering the two together offsetting slightly. I added the "It's Your Birthday" which is from MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday Sentiments stamp set.

Ta-Da!

Hi Crafty Friends,

I finally found some time to pull out some of the stamps and dies from Trinity Stamps release back in April/May, it has been a busy few months so these have just had to wait.

For my card today I have used Trinity Stamps Center Stage Slimline Die set to create the stage and audience portion of the card.

For the yellow background, I used Pinkfresh Studios Slimline Layering Sunburst Stencils with yellow inks.

To create the magical scene on the stage, I used stamps from Abracadabra stamp set.

For the inside of my card I added the stage from the Center Stage Slimline die set along the bottom edge of my card.

I added the magician, table, hat & rabbit which are all also included in the Abracadabra Stamp set.

For the sentiment I used stamps from Scrappy Tails Fairy Sentiments stamp set.

Sew, It's Your Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month I continue to issue the challenges.

Tomorrow (25th July), will be Thread the Needle Day. For our challenge this week incorporate the theme "Sewing" into our cards. Use sewing themed images/words; Sewing themed patterned papers or actually sewing of any type on your cards.

Just before I made this card I had received my order of Honey Bee Stamps new release products which included the Helping Hand die, the idea came to use that  to hold a threaded needle.

As you can see I created a Slimline Card using Pinkfresh Studios Slimline Stitches die which I have had for some time now, this challenge was the perfect opportunity to pull it out and use on a card. I die cut the slimline die from white cardstock and then blended inks in yellow and orange tones over it. This panel was layered to a top folding white Slimline Card that measured 8 3/4 inches x 3 3/4 inches.

The needle and spools are both from an older MFT Stamps Die-namics set called Stitched with Love. I wrapped hemp cord around both the spools in orange and green. As you can see by the photo above, I bend one finger towards the thumb, so the needle could be held.

The scissors are from a Concord & 9th Crafty Dies die set.

To finish off the front of the card I added a sentiment which is from an Art Impressions stamp set.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I added the "sewing" themed sentiment to the label which is from Lawn Fawn's Sewn with Love Stamp set.

I added the scissors & needles which are both from a First Edition die set called Sewing dies.

I also die cut another of the Slim Stitches die from Pinkfresh Studio which I cut in half and added inks to before adhering to either edge of the card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Let's Celebrate

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Mini Slimline card with coordinating envelope that I created recently using stamps, dies and stencils from Divinity Designs.

To create my Mini Slimline card I used the Mini Slimline Sunburst Background die to create the background panel from white cardstock. I used yellow and orange inks with the new blending brushes to add color to this panel.

For the blue panel behind the Sunburst Background, I die cut a blue rectangle using the Mini Slimline Rectangles die set. I then blended blue ink through the Slimline Diamonds Stencil. It gives an interesting background that can be scene through the rays of the front panel.

The grass on the front sunburst background was created using the Slimline Grasses die set. All these pieces were layered together and mounted onto a top folding white Mini Slimline Card base using the Mini Slimline Card Base die.

I added the koalas and sentiment using stamps from the Koala Bears stamp/die duos set.

For the inside of the card, I used the other grass border included in the Slimline Grasses die set.

The koala with balloons was added to the right side of the card and I added two sentiments from the stamp set.

For the coordinating envelope, I used the Mini Slimline Envelope die to die cut yellow paper.

I added the grass along the bottom of the envelope using the same die used to create the grass on the inside of the card. I added another of the koala's from the stamp set.

For the flap of the envelope, I used the Mixed Media Stencil Slimline Diamonds to create the patterned panel from blue cardstock. This is the same stencil which was used to create the pattern which can be seen through the rays of the front of the card.

Hot Diggity Dog

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently yesterday (21st July) was National Hot Dog Day, so include this national treasure on your card. If you don’t have a hot dog image, you can use any kind of fast food item.

For my card today I pulled out a large Hot Dog stamp I was given about 20 years ago. The stamp is designed by Yvonne Albritton.

I created a Slimline card, using slimline dies from Picket Fence Studios. The sentiment is part of a sentiment stamp by DRS Designs.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Pop Up die set. I added another of the hot dogs that I used on the front of the card. The sentiment on the hot dog is the other part of the sentiment on the front of the card.

Along the edges of the card I used a Slimline die from Dare 2B Artzy.

The sentiment on the base of the card is from a Hello Bluebird stamp set.

Gold Classic Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have a birthday themed Shaped Slimline card to share with you all today.

For my card I used Spellbinders Classic Slimline Die set. I used the decorative die to die cut the shape from white and gold mirror cardstock. I then offset the gold decorative card over the white decorative  card slightly. I then adhered this to a solid pale pink shaped panel.

I created a white shaped folded card using the frame die included in the die set and then layered the decorative shaped panel to the folded shaped card.

The Happy Birthday Sentiment is gold foiled using Spellbinders Essential Glimmer Sentiments. I die cut the sentiment using the shaped sentiment die included in the Slimline Classic die set.

To decorate my card I added flowers using Karen Burniston's Flip Frame Pop-up die set.

For the inside of the card I gold foiled two more sentiments from the Essential Glimmer Sentiments set and then die cut the sentiment into a rectangle panel and layered onto gold mirror cardstock.

I added two small flowers and a flourish to the two corners of the sentiment panel.
