Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Yesterday I attended a stamp club with a few friends of mine so decided to create a few of these cute spiders I have seen around the place later to give to each of them! These are sooo easy to make and all you need is the SU scallop circle punch & photo corner punch.

In between the scallop circles is a chocolate coin ... most people seem to use peppermint patties but I couldn't find them and besides the ones in Australia are larger and wrapped in square packaging ... but I guess there are probably some after dinner mints that would also work but I didn't have time to investigate this.

Don't they make a scary bunch ... bwahahahahahahahaha!

Penguin Winter Wishes

It's time for another Elzybells challenge over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge was to create a card using black & white and only one other color.

As you can see the other color I chose was blue!

I created the gridded background on the white base card using the score-pal. The circle layers were created using the circle nestabilities dies .... I would normally color the beak of the penguin yellow/orange but of course seeing I could only use one other color which I had decided was blue ... I ended up coloring the beak black too. (I guess I could have tried blue ha ;) .... cause the penguin is in the snow and probably cold right hahahahahaha! )

Don't forget to check out Elzybells blog to see all the other Design Teams cards for this challenge.

Stamps: Penguin Fishing - Elzybells Art Stamps; Sentiment - Whiff Of Joy
Paper: White; Black; Cool Caribbean - SU

Christmas Candles

Hi I am back again with another card using this week's SCS sketch challenge. This is a great sketch for all those little stamps we all have ... this time I just made a standard sized card using the candle from the new alota Rubber Stamps 'Autumn Wishes Fall um set" that I received today. The sentiment is from another new um sheet which you will find under the October new stamps and supplies on the alota website.

Again I used my square nestabilities to create my square pieces for this card. I also added paper piercing to the top left corner of my card.

Recipe:
Stamps: All Stamps - alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Real Red & Old Olive - SU; DP - Basic Grey
Other: Black Ink; Square Nestabilities; Scallop Border Punch; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Red Grosgrain Ribbon; White Gel Pen; Foam Tape; Copics

Halloween Kitties!

My card today is for today's sketch challenge over on SCS. I just couldn't pass up these cute little kitties that I got in the mail today from alota Rubber Stamps ... aren't they just too adorable!!!!!!!

My card is a tall card to accommodate the size of the images.

I used my square nestabilities to create all the squares for this card embossing the white squares after I had cut them out. The spider web cuttlebug embossing folder was used on the top portion of my card to create the web texture and then I sponged this with black ink.

I wanted to add a greeting to this card so I used my computer to create 'Happy' & 'Halloween' and attached it to my card using my tagger gun.

Recipe:
Stamps: Halloween Kitties - alota Rubber Stamps
Paper: White; Black; Pumpkin Pie - SU; DP - MFT Stamps
Other: Black Ink; Square Nestabilities; Web Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Word Window Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

Never Too Old!

Hello everyone! It's Pretties Tuesday over here on my blog today ... so of course I have a Paper Pretties card to share with you all. This card uses stamps from the "Rainy Day Friends" set ... isn't she just so cute! My layout for this card is last week's sketch challenge over on SCS ... it is such a fun sketch I had to use it again!

This set comes with a number of different sentiments ... I selected this one "You're Never Too Old To Jump Puddles" ...... I think I was inspired to select this one because of a email I had received earlier the day I created this card which was from a friend think a few of us for making her birthday feel sooooo special. She had also said in the email that being her age birthday's weren't important anymore .... well she is a few years younger then me and birthdays are still important to me ... so this sentiment struck a cord!

Now I have a few pieces of Paper Pretties News I want to share with you today.

  • Cutie Pie Contest!!

Percy The Penguin!

This little guy on my card today is called "Percy" .... isn't he just a dapper little chappie! Percy is this week's stamp of the week for Spiral Whisper which means that you can purchase this stamp all this week for 10% discount.

I used last week's Sketch for You To Try from I Heart 2 Stamp's blog for the layout of this card ... I turned the sketch on it's side to suit the orientation of my image. I added paper piercing to the top two corners of my image panel. The blue pieces at the bottom of the card have been embossed using the forest branches cuttlebug embossing folder ... this was the sponged with black ink. I added jumbo eyelets to this panel and then inserted a black brad into each eyelet.

A Lil' Behind!

Hi everyone! Just so you all know I am not behind at all ... the title here is the name of the set I used to create this card I am posting here today.

Yes it is Monday again ... so that means it is time for another fun challenge with my CCEE friends. This week it is our supply challenge which we do every month. Each month one of our CCEE members sends some sort of supplies to the rest of the CCEE team with instructions on what we need to do to create our cards. This month Cindy Motherway organised our supplies for us.

Heather the owner of H & M Stamps was kind enough to send Cindy enough of "A Lil' Behind" stamp sets to send to each of the CCEE girls .... and this is what we are using for our challenge today.

Dawn who was organising the challenges for this month also added an additional clause to this challenge which was to use chipboard somewhere on our card.

My card started out as this week's Mojo sketch challenge ... although I am not sure that it ended up that way ... I had my card almost finished when I realised I hadn't put anything chipboard on it and as I wasn't that fussed on it (my card not the sketch) I pulled it all apart and started again.

The star is my chipboard part of this card ... I ended up making a faux chipboard piece by cutting out a number of stars using my cricut and gluing them all together. The chipboard stars I did have here weren't big enough to fit the sentiment I wanted to use which is why I ended up going faux.

Oh btw in case you are looking at the designer paper on my card ... no I haven't added tons of brads to this card ... only 4 one in each corner ... the other brads you can see are actually printed onto the designer paper itself. I know one person might think I added them cause it is the type of thing she would do bwahahahahahahaha!

Recipe:
Stamps: A Lil' Behind - H & M Stamps
Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Cranberry Crisp & Not Quite Navy - SU; DP - Unknown
Other: Black Ink; Hodgepodge Hardware; Cricut; String; Brown Brads; Foam Tape; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Copics

Got Cupcakes?

Hi everyone .... hope you are all enjoying your weekend. My card today is Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake challenge. I almost used one of my owl stamps to create my card but then the cupcakes stamps all started shouting at me that they wanted to be used so who am I to argue with them ... especially as it is a cupcake challenge hehe!

I used the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder to add the texture to my pink base panel. The cupcakes were all stamped on white card and punched out using circle punches, the scallop circle is the SU scallop circle punch. This was a pretty easy card to create and would have been up hours ago if I hadn't decided to go out with my DH halfway during it being made!

Paper: White; Chocolate Chip & Pretty In Pink - SU; DP - Basic Grey

Ski- Bunny!

My card today is for this week's Hanna Stamps Challenge over on the Hanna Stamps member forum of SCS. This week the challenge is hosted by Cindy Haffner and she challenged us to create a card that has some form of snow or snowflakes on it.

I found this sketch on Created by Courtney's blog earlier in the week and decided to use that to create my card for this challenge. The stamps used on this card are from the Ski Bunny Hanna Set from Hanna Stamps.

I think I covered the snow/snowflake portion of this challenge:
  • Snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder on the white base card
  • Snowflakes stamped around the Hanna image of my card
  • Snowflakes stamped on the sentiment panel
  • Die cut snowflakes attached around the Hanna Image
  • Snowflake Designer Paper used on the left panel

Feel Better Soon!

Hi everyone. My card today combines two MFT challenges over on the MFT member forum of SCS. First up it is this week's sketch challenge ... it is Cindy Haffner's turn to host the challenge this week and what a great sketch!

It is also this week's "Who's that Girl" challenge .... this week we were to use the set "Bunny Slippers" and also to use pink, purple & white on my card. This color scheme worked well with this new designer paper I got the other week from Basic Grey. I used the same designer paper to paper piece the dressing gown on my image.

Don't forget that if you upload your card to the gallery by midnight 26th October you will be in the running to win a $5 store gift certificate. The winner of this challenge will also be thrown into a monthly drawing for a $25 gift certificate!

Witches Brew!

It is time for another Spiral Whisper challenge ... and this week the challenge is to create a card with a "Spooky Halloween" theme. I decided to use the "Witch & Cauldron" image that was released this month from Spiral Whisper. You can see the cards the rest of the Design Team up with on the Spiral Whisper blog.

I love doing scenes so decided to create a scene for my card today. I stamped the witch image onto my white card and then masked her so I could stamp my webs, spider and cracked floor onto my card.

Paper: White; Black; Lavender Lace - SU

Hot Chocolate Anyone!

My card today is for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. This week we were given two sketches which were pretty much very similar one was landscape and the other portrait style ... I ended up going with the portrait style sketch as it suited the image that I wanted to use.

Apparently there is also a week long "pink" theme over on SCS ... so we were encouraged to include pink in our card.

I wanted to play a bit more with one of my Whiff of Joy stamps I got a while back that I haven't had much of a chance to play with ... I just love these images. The designer paper I selected for this card reminded me of the flowers that are on the girls jeans .... there are actually pink & cranberry colored flowers on the designer paper .... unfortunately by the time I added all the layers to my card you can't see too many of the flowers especially the pink ones. Believe me they are there LOL!

Recipe:
Stamps: Hot Chocolate - Whiff of Joy; Sentiment - MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Cranberry Crisp, Pretty In Pink & Baja Breeze - SU; DP - Imaginisce
Other: Black Ink; Baja Breeze SU Ink; Cranberry Brads; Gratitude Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Pink Flower; Foam Tape; Copics

Snow-man.... What's New!

When I first saw this stamp on a web site a few months ago I knew I just had to have it for two reasons. The first is because my friend Tosh ... loves to tease me with owl stamps I don't have. Well she loves and collects snowmen ... so I just had to get my own back right! The second reason was I thought it would make a perfect image to use for Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge that she hosts each week ... how could I resist!

I used the snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the top portion of the cool caribbean base card. The snowflakes at the bottom of the snowman cupcake image are white snowflake brads. I used the computer to generate the sentiment for this card and then punched it out with circle punches.

Recipe:
Stamps: Snowman Cupcake - Hero Arts
Paper: White; Black; Riding Hood Red & Cool Caribbean - SU; DP - My Minds Eye
Other: Black Ink; Circle Punches; Scallop Circle Punch; Snowflake Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; White Snowflake Brads; Black Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape; Copics

Beach Bum!

Hi there! Summer is coming full spend ahead down here ... it is only 1 1/2 months away now ... and I am there are already little boys who look similar to the image I used here on my card just ready to go swimming either on the beach or pool.

I used the tiny bubbles cuttlebug embossing folder to create the texture on the top portion of my card .... the bottom I left plain and attach my sentiment which is stamped onto a label created by the label nestabilities die. I added paper piercing to all 4 corners of my image using my paper piercing mat & tool. The designer paper reminds me of bubbles & water.

Recipe:
Stamps: Beach Bum Set - Paper Pretties
Paper: White; Baja Breeze & Brilliant Blue - SU; DP - Unknown

Christmas Tree Row!

It is time for another "Stamp of the Week" for Spiral Whisper. This week the featured stamp is called "Christmas Tree Row" You can purchase this stamp all this week for 10% off the normal price from Spiral Whisper.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Teams card using this stamp on the Spiral Whisper blog.

I decided to create a "stair step card" for my card this week as it was the Learn a New Technique on SCS last week ... and since it has been a long time since I have created one of these cards I thought it would be fun to create one again.

I stamped the "Christmas Tree Row" twice onto white card, colored and cut it out and attached it to the back portion of my stair step card. The "Funky Snowgirl" that I used here is also from Spiral Whisper.

Here is a side on view of my card so you can see how it folds.

Recipe:

Paper: White; Old Olive - SU

Keeping You in Suspense!

Hi! I am not really keeping you in suspense .... I just thought that was a fun title to use for this particular style of card I have to share with you all today .... hehehe!

As many of you know every Monday I do a challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends. This week our challenge was to use Beate's tutorial to create a Suspension project (it could be a card or an ornament). It also had to be either a Christmas or winter theme. You can find the tutorial here.

I have been wanting to play with this Owl from the Inkadinkado "Winter Birds" set for a while and I finally got to use it. I got this fun green snowflake designer paper the other day while out shopping with a couple of friends so I decided to use this for my card ... very traditional Christmas colors!

I kept the layout simple so that the focus would be on the suspended owl. I used the oval nestabilities to create the suspended portion of the card ... it is stamped the same on both sides of the oval.

Here is a closeup of the owl suspended image.

Stamps: Winter Birds - Inkadinkado
Paper: White; Real Red & Old Olive - SU; DP - Making Memories

Celebrate the Season Christmas Owl!

Yesterday was such a busy day for me that I didn't get a chance to stamp! So I just couldn't wait to get some done today and get to play with the sketch challenges I normally do on the weekends. I received this owl from Spiral Whisper on Friday so of course I couldn't wait to use it!

My card today uses Beate's weekend sketch challenge ... I stamped the owl twice, once on white card and once on soft sky card ... I used liquid applique to give a snowy effect to the snowflakes and branch. I cut out the owl from the white card and attached it over the soft sky image using foam tape.

Recipe:
Stamps: Christmas Owl - Spiral Whisper; Sentiment - Papertrey Ink
Paper: White; Black; Real Red & Soft Sky - SU; DP - My Mind's Eye
Other: Black Ink; White Liquid Applique; Snowflake Cuttlebug Die; Circle Punches; Scallop Border Punch; Foam Tape; Copics

I have lots of photos for this one so you can see the inside and also the little tags I made to go into all the pockets ... there are pockets on all 4 pages.
